Merlin was supposed to be crowned right after Isdis, but instead of doing that, they got busy with the entire orc mess aftermath, which kept her occupied for a long time. She didn’t care at all about the ceremony, as she was a wizard and preferred to stay inside her lab working on spells, but as a queen, she had to get one publicly for the masses.
She was much like Merida, who loved to swing her hips on Arad’s waist more than looking like a queen, and so that was what she was doing now. Finally getting a chance to relax and wind down, Merlin immediately hopped onto Arad in the middle of the bath to play a bit, and he didn’t mind her at all.
Even though Kossuth had come here intending to be the one having fun, she ended up sitting at the end of the waiting list as there were many more wanting to get to Arad, and she couldn’t just skip the line with Kali running around. Besides, she never expected Arad’s lair to be this strange and massive. At least for now, while ignoring the loudly moaning Merlin who swung her hips down like a jackhammer, this place was far more intricate than any heaven Kossuth had ever seen before.
It was a titanic sub-space created from Merlin’s Labyrinth magic that fused with Arad’s stomach to form something akin to Cain’s Infinite Maze, and it allowed for the private quarter to grow and change shape as the demand required. They could easily create more rooms, expand or shrink them, even slow and accelerate time at will.
The part that intrigued Kossuth the most was the time-slow baked into the private quarter and could only be activated at night. If Arad and his wives wanted a longer night so they could play for longer, or for him to go through many of them at once, Merlin could easily slow time in one room and make one night feel like a week, without harming their age and without slowing it for everyone else in the Private Quarter.
That same magic was in use here in the bath, and it stretched time to the point they could spend ten hours here with only an hour passing by outside, which was an easier rate to maintain. That at least made her comfortable knowing that Arad would have time for her here.
So, taking her time to watch, she noticed a few things about Arad as she wanted to slowly blend in. First, it wasn’t Arad’s wives bending themselves for him; it was the opposite. Arad was the one who seemed to change and adapt to whatever his wives wanted most of the time, even though he was the dominant one.
Right now, Merlin just wanted to get the heat out of her body, so she jumped at Arad’s hips, asked him to make his flesh a bit bigger than she could handle, and then started violently humping and kissing him. To a goddess of flames, those feelings were obvious.
The last few days were stressful for Merlin. The last fight had her sweating a lot, and becoming a goddess of magic, then ruling over this entire space, had silently pushed her over the edge. She now wanted to rest; she wanted to relax and turn her mind off. She only wanted pleasure, and Arad was her only option to achieve that.
"She is going to be there for a while." When Kossuth mumbled that, Linda nodded by her side. "I can see that. She would still be moving like that for the next hour. I can smell her succubus blood from here, and that won’t cool down anytime soon."
Even without Kossuth’s divine powers, as an Elder Drakaina with senses far beyond mortal comprehension, knowing that was as obvious to her and Linda as it is for a human to tell if someone is exhausted or not.
"While being divine perfects everything about your body, it still can’t perfect your emotions. We still feel fear, anxiety, exhaustion, love, and thirst. Especially the most calculating ones of us." Kossuth looked at Eris. "Just take Amaterasu and Yog for example. Those two work hard, but they play harder."
Thinking about that, Eris sent a quick message to Amaterasu asking her about what she was doing at that moment, and she got an answer in a second. She was indeed entertaining Yog and Lilia. "It is a natural process: when a soul gets stressed out too much, it immediately seeks reproduction after that stress. It is hardwired not just into instincts, but into the souls of all living beings to ensure survival."
"That’s what Amaterasu said." Eris sighed as she gave Kossuth a second look. "How come a Red Drakaina is white?" She reached forward and poked her chest, feeling the billions of microscopic white scales.
Kossuth smiled as she explained how they should know that the color of flames changes the hotter it gets, and that the color goes from red to blue and then to white. She showed them a tiny flame, but then quickly explained that while it was true for her flames, her scales are actually white from old age and pain.
Kossuth had been technically alive for almost nine thousand years in the universe’s time, but her soul had survived for eons longer. To kill Tiamat, she had to generate enough heat to burn herself from the inside out, and after that, she lived for centuries enduring that pain as her flames kept getting hotter and hotter after she surpassed her limits by a lot. At one point, she had become so hot that time accelerated for her to the point that she felt that a single second felt like a thousand years.
She also told them the secret of her power, and it was indeed her bloodline, which could be traced back to the first dragon, Asgorath. While someone like Tiamat inherited his entire chromatic factor, which allowed her to use all chromatic elements, Kossuth only inherited the pure flame factor, which is why her flames could become so hot.
Gamond, who was around, approached, gave Kossuth a snarl, and frowned. She didn’t like that Kossuth was far stronger than her, but that should have been expected when comparing a regular Elder Drakaina to a Divine Elder Drakaina. But what truly made Gamond a bit salty was knowing that Arad was, in fact, ready to punch this drakaina down even though he was just an adult void dragon.
Mira also joined the conversation as she wanted to ask Kossuth about how to use her flames for forging, and even Merida joined, as she did want Mira to remake her sword for her. So before long, Kossuth was getting along pretty well with most of Arad’s wives who talked with her.
At that point, Isdis and the rest of Arad’s wives couldn’t even refuse her. She was a great asset to them with her influence, strength, and even bloodline. She was the literal Goddess of flames and undisputed ruler of the elemental plane of fire, meaning that Arad now technically owns that place.
"Umm... what about the Elemental Plane of Fire?" Isdis asked Kossuth with a worried face, horrified at the coming paper work to get all of that sorted out.
Kossuth smiled, "Ah, Arad would eventually grow stronger than me, so I’m submissive. I was even planning to have him mark me. So he’ll be the Sultan of the Elemental Plane of Fire." She then threw a glance at Zephyr, who was swimming in her own wine bucket. "That would give him a good talking point with your daddy, right? Princess."
Zephyr almost drowned. "What!? NO!"
"Oh, sure he will."
