Zephyr frowned as Kossuth was right. With this, Arad now stands on the same political pedestal as her father, Focalor. Each of them rules an Elemental Plane, even though each of them owes their power to a different reason. Focalor has robbed the throne from the previous Sultan with force and proved his own wind mastery over all the other djinn and spirits in that realm. He was an undisputed ruler who ruled with sheer might. Unlike him, Arad now owes his standing to Kossuth. He didn’t earn that throne, but sits on it because his wife earned it.
The wind spirits and djinns might underestimate Arad because of how he got the throne, and some might even openly riot over their princess marrying him. But the savviest of them should figure out that it takes an absolute monster to take the throne from Kossuth, who was known as the most violent and aggressive of the Elemental Sultans.
Zephyr was certain that the nobles of her homeland would be scratching their heads and panicking as they tried to figure out how in the nine hells Arad could tame Kossuth, and just how big a threat he is. It would most likely play in a similar way to when Arad took Kali as one of his wives and all of the demons underestimated him, until he burned a few abyss layers just for fun.
With this, Arad won’t just have to deal with the political landscape of the Elemental Plane of Fire, but also get mixed in the Elemental Plane of Air... but what worried Zephyr the most was getting Arad and the djinn mixed together, since she is almost certain that would break the universe’s balance.
She needs to talk with Kossuth about it later just to be sure nothing breaks. But at the same time Zephyr was thinking about that, Merlin had just finished her heat session with Arad and dropped into the water, completely drained. She won’t be able to go for a second, so the wives were about to decide which of them would go next.
The decision wasn’t easy to make, and in the meantime, the vampire maid who stalled Kossuth went to clean Arad using her mouth, and she was pleasantly surprised to find out that all of Merlin’s bodily fluids had been reduced to just liquid mana and water. She had been a bit hesitant when Eris pushed her toward him, but now she was glad that she got in, as being this close to the Blood Lord wasn’t something regular vampires like her could.
"Arad, since she has done such a great job holding back an entire goddess on her own, I think we should give her a reward." Eris stood, approached Arad and the vampire maid, and then stepped on the back of her head, forcing all of Arad’s flesh down the maid’s throat. "I think we should let her join us later. I might even be able to turn her into an angel later."
Arad smiled, "Well, we can give it a try. Now, can you get your foot off her head? She is choking." He looked at the vampire maid with a concerned expression, and Eris just shrugged. "I think not. She will be fine."
On the other side of the pool, Nina and Betty pulled Merlin out of the water and dragged her to the edge, where they laid her on the ground. "Merlin, are you still alive?" Nina asked, and Merlin didn’t reply.
Betty smiled as she lifted her foot up and stomped on Merlin’s chest, forcing her to reply. "I didn’t drown! Stop it!" She was just trying to rest her eyes a bit. She certainly didn’t black out for a few seconds.
Betty smiled. "You better thank me. If I didn’t wake you up, Nina would’ve given it a try, and she would’ve cracked your ribs." Nina looked aside as she was just a moment away from starting CPR on Merlin, having forgotten to check for a pulse beforehand.
Merlin sat up, and Nina looked at her with a smile. "At least you’re fine. With that fight and all the mess before, I really thought that we could lose you." Even as a barbarian without a single clue about Magic, Nina understood just how deadly it was to directly fight the goddess of magic.
"There was no chance of me dying. What no one understands about the goddess of magic is that she really, really, really loves magic. She will fight and burn everything to the ground to keep the most heinous of criminals alive if their life benefits magic. I did a lot for magic, and my research is still going, so she had never planned on killing me." Merlin then looked at Betty with a smug grin.
"But since I survived that fight. Does this mean I already surpassed you in magic?" That was a valid question, as Merlin had studied magic under both Betty and Lilia, making them her teachers. She had just survived a fight against Lilia, and it was already known that Lilia was the superior mage compared to Betty, so Merlin wanted to know if she had already surpassed one of her untouchable teachers.
Betty thought about it for a second, crossing both of her arms and legs. "With the mana of Arad’s inner world and the Mini-universe added to your pool, you’ve surpassed me in both mana capacity and output. You even have your own unique spells that I can’t cast or replicate since I lack your anatomy."
"Then I’m at least slightly better than you!" Merlin looked happy for a second, but that smile immediately disappeared when Betty burst into laughter, which reminded her of Lilia’s maniacal gaggles.
"If you can use your High Human blood and unique anatomy to amplify your spells, then it should be fair for me to use my Light Bloodline to do the same, right?" When Betty finished talking, Merlin already had a funny face drawn on her face with charcoal.
"I had to go into the charcoal kiln behind the capital for this charcoal." Betty threw the piece of charcoal into Merlin’s lap. "This means you’re already dead. I’m fast enough that you can’t even react to me. But let’s say I can’t attack you directly like this. Let’s just play a game of spells."
In that moment, a thousand Meteors appeared just a few tens of meters above their heads, and every meteor was at least several kilometres wide. Just one of them could wipe an entire continent, and Betty had just cast a thousand all at once. But that wasn’t the scary part, as before anyone could even panic, she had already dispelled all of them by attacking each meteor that she created with an anti-spell projectile and erasing them.
"You can’t beat me in casting speed." Betty said with a smile. This had already shown Merlin that she couldn’t beat Betty head-on, but it got even crazier. Betty didn’t just cast those meteors and dispel them before anyone could move; she also switched Eris and the maid’s places. Now, it was Eris with Arad’s flesh all the way down her throat, and the vampire was the one stepping on her head.
The only two who managed to react were Kali and Kossuth, and even they almost missed Betty’s moves.
"As expected of someone who outran Death herself. If you were fully awakened as a Light Drakaina and in the Great Wyrm stage, that would’ve forced you into the Elder stage." Kossuth was honestly impressed by Betty’s sheer speed, as she wasn’t just moving at the speed of light, but using time slow with it to go even faster than light.
"Would that make her the fastest living creature in the universe?" Kali asked as she threw a glance at Kossuth and got a nod. "Probably. I doubt even Amaterasu can catch her."
