The Eclipsed Order
Chapter 230: The Vampire Progenitor Meets the Monsters of the EclipseChapter 230: Chapter 230: The Vampire Progenitor Meets the Monsters of the Eclipse
The distortion in space disappeared as quickly as it had appeared.
Ares and Leon materialized inside one of the rooms at Starlight, where Draven, Cedric, and Astra had been staying.
The room looked nothing like the throne chamber they had just left.
Draven was completely focused on his game, Cedric was similarly absorbed in his own screen, while Astra was lying comfortably nearby with her attention fixed on hers.
The moment Ares suddenly appeared in the middle of the room, however, all three of them stopped.
Their fingers froze.
Their games were forgotten.
All three slowly raised their heads and looked toward Ares.
"Master."
"Master."
"Master."
Draven, Cedric, and Astra greeted him almost simultaneously.
Ares glanced at them before shifting his attention toward the figure standing beside him.
"This time, everyone, meet our new—"
"Wait."
Draven’s eyes widened.
He stared at Leon for several seconds, as though his mind was struggling to process what he was seeing.
"No way..."
His expression gradually became one of disbelief.
"That is... a vampire?"
Astra looked at Leon for a moment, her expression considerably calmer than Draven’s.
"Hmm."
She tilted her head slightly.
"Now that I look at him properly, he really is a vampire."
Draven immediately stood up from where he had been sitting.
"But his presence..."
His eyes narrowed as he carefully examined Leon.
"Wait, his presence is similar to Selene’s."
He looked at Ares, then back at Leon.
"Could he be a True Vampire Lord?"
Draven’s expression changed completely.
"There is no doubt about it..., Master..."
Cedric had also stopped touching his iPad by this point, his attention completely focused on Leon.
Draven shook his head in amazement.
"You really did it again."
He looked at Ares with a mixture of disbelief and admiration.
"First Selene, and now a Vampire Progenitor? Master, you somehow keep finding beings of terrifying power and making them your allies. At this point, I honestly don’t know whether I should be surprised anymore."
Ares paid little attention to his reaction.
"This is Leon."
He gestured toward the ancient vampire.
"Leon, these are Draven, Cedric, and Astra."
Leon slowly closed his eyes.
A faint smile appeared upon his youthful face.
He stepped forward with the composure of an ancient nobleman addressing people he had only just encountered.
"It is a pleasure to make your acquaintance."
His crimson eyes opened.
"I am Leon, once known as the Lord of Eternal Blood. Although the ages have carried my former name into the depths of history, I have now chosen to walk beneath a new master and a new name."
His gaze passed over the three of them.
"Therefore, I shall remember each of your names and regard you as companions beneath the banner of the one I now serve."
Draven stared at him.
Cedric remained silent for a moment.
Astra simply blinked.
Draven eventually looked at Ares.
"Master... where did you find this guy?"
Before Ares could answer, Leon’s gaze suddenly settled upon Draven.
His expression became slightly more interested.
"You."
Draven looked at him.
"Me?"
Leon studied him carefully.
"You belong to the Astral Dragon race, do you not?"
Draven’s expression immediately changed.
"You know about us?"
"Of course."
Leon smiled faintly.
"I was acquainted with your ancestors long before the present age came into existence. The blood of the Astral Dragons was already known to me during my time."
Draven’s eyes widened.
"If you knew our ancestors personally, then that means you are more than five thousand years old."
He paused.
"No..."
His expression became more serious.
"You must be considerably older than that."
Leon gave a small nod.
"That is correct."
Draven stared at him for several seconds before slowly nodding in understanding.
"Oh... I see."
He looked toward Ares again.
"To think that Master would actually make a Vampire Progenitor who has existed for longer than most recorded history submit to him."
A faint smile appeared on his face.
"This is certainly another unexpected development, especially after Selene’s appearance. Master, you really have a talent for collecting beings that should normally be impossible to encounter."
Ares ignored the last part of his statement.
"How are the power banks?"
Draven immediately relaxed.
"They are fine, Master. We still have plenty of fully charged power banks, so you don’t need to worry about us running out anytime soon."
Astra raised her iPad slightly.
"And my pet Moi has gotten much bigger."
She smiled with obvious satisfaction.
"I also unlocked several different clothing sets for it, so I’ve been trying them out."
Ares looked at her for a moment.
"Your priorities are certainly interesting."
Astra nodded seriously.
"They are important."
Cedric glanced down at his own iPad.
"I have also made considerable progress in Shadow Slayer. I have already reached a much higher stage than when i first started playing."
Draven immediately looked proud.
"And I finally reached Level 100."
He raised his head proudly.
"After all this time, I finally reached the maximum level."
Ares looked at him.
"Congratulations."
Draven’s expression brightened.
"Thank you, Master."
Ares then looked over the three of them.
"That’s good. At least you haven’t been completely wasting your time."
His expression became slightly more serious.
"By the way, have you been eating properly?"
The three of them exchanged glances.
Ares continued before any of them could answer.
"Don’t spend all your time staring at those iPads and neglect your meals. If I find out that any of you have been skipping food because you were too busy playing, I will confiscate every device in this room."
Draven’s expression immediately stiffened.
"D-Don’t worry, Master. We have been eating properly."
He gave an awkward laugh.
"There’s really no need to worry about us."
Astra nodded.
"Yes, Master. The members have been bringing food here regularly, so we have not been neglecting our meals."
Cedric also nodded.
"That’s right, Master. We have been taking care of ourselves."
He smiled.
"And congratulations on your new ally. It seems you have once again brought someone extraordinary into the Order."
Draven nodded enthusiastically.
"Indeed. Congratulations, Master."
Astra also smiled.
"Congratulations, Master."
Ares nodded.
"Alright, alright. We should leave for now."
He turned toward the door.
"I’ll introduce Leon to everyone else, so you three can continue whatever you were doing."
Draven gave him a small nod.
"Understood, Master. We will be here."
Cedric returned his attention to his game.
"Good luck with the introductions."
Astra simply waved.
"See you later, Master."
Ares nodded before turning away.
Leon remained silent as he followed Ares toward the exit.
However, as he glanced back at the three figures sitting casually in the room, a strange feeling surfaced within his mind.
’How peculiar.’
His crimson eyes narrowed slightly.
’Three beings who appear so young, sitting here as though they have nothing more important to concern themselves with than these strange little devices.’
He looked at Draven.
’That one possesses the blood of an Astral Dragon and has reached the realm of a Supreme Transcendent.’
His gaze shifted toward Cedric.
’The second has also reached the realm of a Transcendent, yet he carries himself like an ordinary young man.’
Then he looked at Astra.
His expression became slightly more serious.
’And the final one...’
Leon remained silent.
’She is a Demi-God.’
His eyes slowly narrowed.
’Three extraordinary beings, each possessing power that would have made them legendary existences in the age I once knew, and yet all three behave so obediently in his presence.’
He glanced toward Ares.
The young man was already walking toward the exit without displaying the slightest concern.
Leon quietly smiled.
’How fortunate.’
He followed after him.
’It is a good thing I chose to submit before attempting to fight.’
A faint sigh escaped him.
’If I had chosen the latter...’
His smile became slightly bitter.
’The outcome would have been considerably worse.’
