Chapter 231: Chapter 231: Arrival at the Grand Continent of Ravellon

A few days later, the day of their departure for the Grand Continent of Ravellon finally arrived.

Outside the floating city of the Eclipsed Order, Ares stood at the edge of the massive platform overlooking the vast landscape below. The city floated high above the clouds, its enormous structures casting long shadows across the sky while the wind moved gently through the open air.

Selene and Leon stood a short distance behind him.

Before leaving, Ares had asked Draven, Cedric, and Astra whether they wanted to accompany them to Ravellon, but all three had refused.

Draven had said that he would come along another time because he still wanted to finish the game he had been playing, while Cedric had agreed that there was no need for all of them to leave at once. Astra had also decided to remain behind with them, saying that she would explore the continent on another occasion.

As a result, Selene and Leon would be the only ones accompanying Ares.

Ares looked toward the distant horizon before calmly turning toward the two beside him.

"Now then, shall we?"

Selene gave a small nod.

"Of course, Master. I am ready whenever you are."

Leon placed one hand over his chest and gave a respectful bow.

"Naturally, Master. It would be my honor to accompany you."

Ares simply nodded.

Then, with a casual movement, he raised one hand and flicked his finger.

The space around the three distorted for an instant.

In the blink of an eye, they disappeared from the floating city.

When their surroundings stabilized, the three were already high above the sky, far beyond the territory they had previously occupied.

Below them stretched an enormous expanse of ocean, so vast that the horizon seemed to merge with the sky itself.

And beyond that ocean, barely visible in the distance, was a massive landmass.

Even from where they stood, its scale was difficult to comprehend.

Ares looked toward it with quiet interest.

"The Grand Continent of Ravellon..."

Leon followed his gaze.

"So this is where we are going."

His expression became slightly more serious as he looked across the enormous distance separating them from the continent.

"No one has crossed into that continent before, Master. The Sea Guardian that rules the surrounding ocean has prevented anyone from reaching it."

Ares glanced at him.

"You know about this continent?"

Leon immediately lowered his head slightly.

"Forgive me, Master, but according to the historical records of the continent of Galvanian, no one from our continent has ever successfully crossed into Ravellon. Even beings of considerable power from my era were unable to do so."

"Then how do they know the name of the continent, along with some of the information recorded about it?"

"Those details were preserved only through ancient records," Leon explained. "The information is extremely old, and most of what was recorded about Ravellon has never been verified personally by anyone from Galvanian."

"I see."

Ares looked toward the distant continent again.

"Well, it does not matter. We are here now, so let us see what kind of continent it truly is."

"Yes, Master," Selene and Leon answered together.

Ares moved forward first.

The other two followed immediately.

Whoosh!

The three figures accelerated through the sky.

Their speed continued increasing until the clouds beneath them were reduced to nothing more than fleeting white streaks.

Fwoooosh!

The enormous ocean passed beneath them at an astonishing rate, and before long, the distant landmass gradually became clearer.

Mountains emerged along the horizon.

Vast forests stretched across enormous portions of the continent, while rivers cut through the landscape like silver threads.

Farther ahead, Ares noticed what appeared to be a massive castle standing beyond the forest.

Its structure was enormous, with fortified walls surrounding what appeared to be an entire kingdom rather than merely a single royal residence.

Ares slowed down.

"There."

Selene and Leon looked toward the same direction.

The three descended toward the ground, deliberately choosing a location far away from the kingdom.

Fwoosh!

They landed within the vast forest.

Thud.

Leaves scattered beneath their feet as they touched the ground.

For a moment, none of them spoke.

Ares looked around at the unfamiliar trees, the strange vegetation, and the enormous forest surrounding them.

"The atmosphere here is really different."

Selene slowly looked around as well.

"And it is no wonder this place is called the Grand Continent. Even this forest alone appears to extend farther than some entire territories I have seen."

She paused for a moment before adding,

"I have never been to this world before, so everything here is unfamiliar to me."

Leon remained silent for several seconds.

His crimson eyes shifted toward Selene.

’To think I would encounter a True Dragon Lord here.’

Even after his evolution, Leon could still sense an overwhelming presence from Selene.

It was not merely the strength of a powerful dragon.

The three continued walking through the forest.

They moved closer.

A short distance ahead, two human adventurers were surrounded by five beastfolk.

The two humans appeared to be adventurers, judging from their equipment and worn clothing, but they were clearly in a helpless situation.

One of them had been forced to his knees, while the other desperately tried to shield himself.

The five beastfolk, meanwhile, seemed to be enjoying their helplessness.

"Look at them."

One of the beastfolk laughed.

"They are actually begging us."

Another crouched down in front of one of the humans and grabbed him by the chin.

"You humans really are pathetic. You are weak, dirty, and completely useless."

"Please..." the adventurer pleaded. "We have done nothing to you."

"That is what makes this entertaining."

The beastfolk laughed among themselves.

"You should be grateful that we decided to play with you instead of killing you immediately."

The second adventurer clenched his fists.

"We are adventurers. We were only passing through this area."

"Adventurers?"

The beastfolk laughed again.

"Do you think that title makes you important?"

Another one kicked the ground beside the adventurer, making him flinch.

"You’re nothing but weak humans."

The conversation suddenly stopped when one of the beastfolk noticed Ares, Selene, and Leon approaching through the trees.

He stared at the three strangers for a moment before grinning.

"Well, well... What do we have here?"

The others turned around.

The beastfolk looked at Ares and Leon before their eyes settled on Selene.

"Three good-looking humans, and a tall, beautiful woman as well. It seems luck is on our side today."

One of them looked toward the apparent leader.

"Boss, what should we do with them?"

The leader smiled.

"It’s obvious. We will finish playing with those two first, and then we can have some fun with that woman."

Ares, Selene, and Leon remained completely motionless.

The beastfolk frowned.

"Hey, are you ignoring us?"

One stepped forward aggressively.

"You’re nothing but weak humans. How dare you stand there and ignore us?"

Ares glanced at them without showing the slightest sign of concern.

"It seems this continent really is different from ours."

Leon looked at the beastfolk with clear disdain.

"You need not even lay a hand upon these lowly beings, Master. Give me a single word, and I will deal with them."

Selene looked at Leon.

A faint smile appeared on her face.

Before any of the beastfolk could react, she merely flicked her finger.

Flick.

A small flame appeared around one of them.

Fwoooosh!

Divine flames engulfed his entire body in an instant.

"What—?!"

His voice barely escaped his throat before his entire body vanished within the flames.

There was nothing left behind.

The remaining beastfolk froze.

"W-What happened?"

"He... disappeared?"

One of them stared at the empty space in disbelief before looking toward Selene.

"You... What did you do?"

Selene did not answer.

The beastfolk leader’s expression twisted with anger.

"Don’t just stand there! Boys, attack!"

The remaining four immediately drew their weapons.

Shing!

Clang!

They charged toward the three at once, swinging their weapons with the intention of overwhelming them through numbers.

But before a single weapon could reach its target—

Shrrrk!

Thin crimson threads suddenly appeared around their bodies.

The threads wrapped tightly around their arms, legs, and torsos before pulling them completely still.

"W-What is this?!"

One of them struggled violently.

Grrrk...!

"I-I can’t break free!"

Another pulled against the crimson threads with all his strength.

"This is impossible! How can I not break these things?!"

One of them stared at Ares with disbelief.

"You’re just lowly humans! How could you possibly possess this kind of power?!"

Ares ignored them.

Instead, he walked toward the two human adventurers.

Leon remained behind, maintaining the blood restraints.

"Leon, keep them there for a while."

"Understood, Master."

Ares stopped in front of the two humans.

One of them immediately lowered his head.

"T-Thank you for saving us."

The other quickly followed.

"Thank you. If you had not appeared, they would have continued treating us like toys."

Ares looked at them calmly.

"It is nothing."

He glanced around the forest.

"By the way, what place is this?"

The two adventurers exchanged confused looks.

"W-We are in the territory of the Dwarf Kingdom."

"Dwarf Kingdom?"

"Yes."

Ares nodded slowly.

"I see."

He looked back toward the restrained beastfolk.

"Leon, you may kill them now."

The moment those words were spoken, Leon’s expression became cold.

"As you command, Master."

Shrrrk!

The crimson threads tightened violently.

Splatter!

The bodies of the restrained beastfolk were torn apart in an instant, reduced to countless fragments before falling lifelessly onto the forest floor.

The two human adventurers stared in shock.

Ares paid no attention to the remains.

Instead, he raised his hand toward the two injured humans.

A gentle wave of power passed over their bodies.

Fwoom.

Their wounds closed almost instantly, leaving their bodies completely restored.

The two adventurers looked down at themselves in disbelief.

"My injuries..."

"They’re completely healed."

Ares lowered his hand.

"Now, tell me what happened."

The two adventurers hesitated for a moment before one of them finally answered.

"We were traveling through the forest because we had accepted a quest in the area. Those beastfolk suddenly appeared and attacked us without warning."

His expression became bitter.

"We tried to explain that we had no intention of causing trouble, and we even begged them to let us leave, but they did not care."

The other adventurer nodded.

"They treated us like toys. They kept insulting us, calling us weak and dirty, and seemed to enjoy watching us beg."

Ares remained silent for several moments.

’Are humans considered the lowest race here, to the point that they can be treated like this?’

His expression remained calm, but there was a subtle change in his eyes.

Ares turned toward the two adventurers.

"Can you show us the way to the nearest town?"

"O-Of course."

The first adventurer quickly nodded.

"If you are heading toward the Dwarf Kingdom, we can guide you there."

"Good."

Ares gestured toward them.

"You two, come here."

The adventurers immediately moved closer.

"Yes."

"Please follow us."

The two adventurers began leading the way through the forest, while Ares, Selene, and Leon followed behind them.

The unfamiliar continent of Ravellon stretched far beyond the trees ahead, and somewhere beyond that vast forest stood the kingdom they had yet to understand.
