Chapter 234: Lightning vs Blood 1

‎A/N: Sorry for no updates yesterday, i’ve been incredibly busy these past few days. Thanks for your understanding.

-----------

Out of the sixty four seated youths on the massive floating semi circle platform, 18 were humans, 24 were demons, 12 were elves, and 10 were merfolk.

‎The fourth phase which is the tournament, would be conducted as a knockout tournament. It would be a show of everyone’s true battle prowess as they would all be fighting in a one on one match with the strongest talents of the golden generation.

‎Though, the 64 individuals who all made it to the fourth phase didn’t make it out of luck. They all had something unique about them, and none of them was weak.

‎Everything would only eventually depend on the matchups. If someone like an unknown individual was paired with someone like Kaal or Damon in the round of 64, then it would be over for them as opposed to if they were paired with someone of similar strength.

‎Though none of them were weak, there was still a distinctive difference between the top dogs and the others.

‎As all the youths were seated on the platform, waiting for the instructions on the final phase, a regal demon appeared before them, with his hand behind his back.

‎"NOW, THE FIXTURES CANNOT BE RANDOM BECAUSE WE CANNOT ALLOW SOME OF THE HIGH PROFILE INDIVIDUALS TO MEET UP THIS EARLY IN THE TOURNAMENT, SO YOU’LL ALL BE PLACED INTO SIXTEEN QUARTERS ACCORDING TO YOUR LEVELS OF STRENGTH." The man said, amplifying his voice with aether, making the youths realize he’d been the one giving instructions on the phases the whole time.

‎"How do you know our levels of strength, what if some of us are simply hiding our strength?" an elf asked.

‎"Well, it’s just means you are lucky." The man replied now in a normal volume. "Now, the fixtures have been chosen as follows." He waved his hand and a giant matrix appeared in the sky.

‎It was a giant table, showing two groups, A and B, with images of each youth on them. Each quarter would battle, with only one champion coming out of them.

‎Damon quickly traced all the fixtures, determining all the individuals he would eventually battle against.

‎"Interesting." he muttered, before his lips broke into a grin. He turned in the direction where he could sense particularly sense a harsh glare.

‎There he saw Ivis, smirking, and at the same time glaring at him. Damon smirked in return and gave Ivis the middle finger, making the elf prince’s face contort in a frown.

‎Damon and Ivis were meeting in the second round of the tournament, the round of sixteen, and Damon was rather amused at that.

‎’It seems he won’t be reaching the fifth round this time.’ Damon thought. In the original story, the elf prince had reached the fifth round, the semi finals, and then lost the battle against Alistair. Now though, that wouldn’t be the case.

‎Damon turned away from Damon, and looked around at the most likely opponents he was likely to encounter in the five battles it would take him to reach the final.

‎Isolde in the first round, Ivis in the second round, Fabian in the third round, Alistair in the fourth round, and then... Sia in the fifth round.

‎’It seems my schedule would be very very packed.’ Damon mused. ’But don’t I have a little too many humans on my path?" he wondered.

‎It wasn’t only Damon who was checking out the individuals he was supposed to go against. In fact, almost every single youth was doing the same.

‎"Without any further ado, we shall start with the tournament." The commentator said. "Do your best, and also, don’t forget, the entire world would be watching your performance."

‎"Do keep in mind however, you all are the finest of the finest the four races have cultivated in this generation. So, in respect to that, death is prohibited. Any individual about to die will be transported away from the duel."

‎At that, some youths collectively frowned. During the past phases, they had encountered individuals they sought to kill, but weren’t given the chance, and now that they were happy they’d gotten the chance, it was taken away from them.

‎Most on the other hand, were quite relieved. They knew they couldn’t match up to most of the strongest there were, so they were happy knowing their lives were secured.

‎After letting that sink in their head, the commentator continued. "Defeat is recognized as when a participant is knocked out, unable to continue, or by forfeit. And then there is the case where an individual is teleported away in situations of certain deaths."

‎"Now, might we move on to the tournament?" The commentator smiled. "OF THE FIRST TWO TAKING TO THE STAGE, WE HAVE THE LIGHTING INCARNATE, THE HEIR OF THE STORMS, LEVI STORMBREAKER!!!"

‎The spectators roared in excitement at the enthusiasm with which the commentator had called out Levi (humans mostly.) Meanwhile, amidst the loud cheers of the audience, Levi slowly stood up.

‎"AND NOW, FACING HIM IS THE HEIR OF BLOOD, THE CRIMSON MONARCH, AND THE BLOOD PRINCE, KAAL VON SANGUINE!!!!!"

‎The commentator roared with much more enthusiasm than before. ‎He was a demon after all, he had to show some support for his prince.

‎"NOW," the commentator said after the cheers calmed down. "COULD ANYONE GUESS WHERE THE BATTLES WOULD BE TAKING PLACE? WHAT AM I SAYING, OF COURSE NO ONE KNOWS." The commentator interrupted before anyone could even begin to think.

‎Suddenly, a white beam pierced towards both the demon Prince, and Levi from above so fast that even with their perceptions, they couldn’t catch it until it landed on them.

‎After landing on both youths, the white light didn’t stop until it it hit the ground far below the floating platform. When the light disappeared, so did the figures of both youths.

‎The light had relocated them to the ground.

‎"THE MORE INTELLECTUALLY GIFTED AMONG YOU MIGHT HAVE FIGURED IT OUT BY NOW. AND FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO HAVEN’T, WELL, YOUR ARENA MIGHT AS WELL BE THE ENTIRE POCKET REALM ITSELF."

‎"What?!!!!"

‎"Aee they mad?!"

‎"How can the pocket realm be the arena itself?"

‎The youths went collectively wild and chaotic. They knew no boundaries meant their opponents would always have somewhere to run to.

‎But the commentator didn’t care about their concerns. He waved his hand once more, and a giant projection appeared, showing the two youths that had been transported to the ground.

‎Such was the case for everyone all around Nahaar. The many screens they had been using to watch the convergence merged back into two. One showing the platform the students were seated on, and the other showing the figures of the Kaal and Levi.

‎"NOW, I HEREBY DECLARE THE START OF THE BATTLE. YOU MIGHT BEGIN!!!!"

‎The moment the commentator’s voice rang out, the sky above instantly darkened as lightning began crackling around Levi’s body.

‎"I’ll only say this once, human," Kaal said coldly. "Forfeit while you still can."

‎In response to that, Levi smirked. "You might have a higher rank than I do, demon. But that hasn’t meant much to me. I’ve subdued countless on a higher rank than I was. Your fate would be no difference."

‎"So be it." Kaal muttered. But before his words could even echo, Levi had disappeared from his spot in a single bolt of lightning, leaving a scorched path in his wake.

‎He appeared next to Kaal, facing the opposite direction for in the fraction of a second. For a moment, it looked like Kaal wouldn’t be able to react to his speed.

‎But the demon Prince turned to face Levi with frightening speed. In an instant, both vanished from their spots, throwing hands at frightening speeds. One moment they were here, and in another, they were somewhere else.

‎Any place they flashed to, was reduced to scorched debris courtesy to Levi’s lightning. Kaal for his part, hadn’t even begun to use his abilities.

‎Levi threw a fist coated with lightning at Kaal’s face, but the demon Prince dodged it with the slightest sidestep.

‎A crackling beam of lightning erupted and shot outwards from Levi’s fist making contact with air, rather than Kaal’s face.

‎The beam of lightning reduced everything it touched to scorch ruin. Kaal meanwhile, after dodging the lightning fist, flashed forward and delivered a bone crushing punch to Levi’s chest.

‎Levi literally hung in the air for a split second, before disappearing into the distance.

‎Woaaaaah!

‎The audience were especially in high spirits at witnessing such a show.

‎Kaal meanwhile, immediately disappeared after Levi, but before he could cover half the distance, Levi materialized before him, now with a sword covered in crackling arcs of lightning that pierced towards his neck.

‎Kaal slipped under the sword with frightening efficiency, Levi withdrew his sword in the same instant, spinning it into a reverse grip, and piercing it towards Kaal back.

‎But before his sword could touch the demon Prince, Levi felt something latch onto his leg. The next moment, he found himself flipping through the air.

‎Levi’s back hit the ground and sunk through it as if it were water, sending a cataclysmic shockwave blowing outwards.

‎Kaal meanwhile, ignored the shockwave as if it were mere breeze, and flickered above Levi’s sunken form, his fist falling towards the heir of storm’s face with the strength of a meteor.

‎However, Levi couldn’t just sit still for defeat, now could he?

‎As the fist fell towards his face, the heir of storms turned into a single bolt of lightning, and literally blipped out of existence.

‎Kaal’s fist utterly annihilated the ground. A ravine tore itself open as the earth caved in tens of meters into the ground in a wide arc.

‎Kaal straightened and turned in the direction he was sensing Levi underr the cover of the debris.

‎In the next instant however, a massive bolt of lightning fell from the heavens with divine fury, straight towards Kaal.
