Chapter 241: Mirror Dominion

‎In the room with the Alpha rankers, silence ensued as they witnessed the so called imposter stomping on Ivis’ head. But the Elven Empress and her consort were secretly gritting their teeth in anger.

‎That was their son who was being steeped on. The face of their empire, and the supposed future emperor of the elves, but now his reputation had been completely tarnished before the entire world.

‎Ellaria even had the urge go into that pocket realm at this instant and prune that arrogant human out of existence, but she quickly calmed her emotions down. The moment she tried to act, everyone here would act to stop her.

‎"Its not too late to change the target of your bets is it?" Someone finally broke the silence plaguing the room.

‎"Like hell we would accept that, Alexa, it’s already been sealed in an aether contract." Sevas drawled.

‎"Too bad." Alexa shook her head with a wry smile. "I would have loved to bet on this imposter."

‎"So would I." Lucas agreed with her words. "His prospects seem very promising. If all goes well, the human race will be winning the convergence this time."

‎Hearing the words of Lucas who was the oldest and most experienced amongst them, the rest of the demi immortals contemplated his words. They realized it meant the boy would at least reach the final.

‎"Hahahahaha!" Regulus laughed out loud at that point. "I implore you all to not be delusional. Even if that human brat reaches the finals, his journey would stop there, that I can promise you all."

‎"You are wrong, he won’t be reaching the finals, are you forgetting my daughter stands in his way, Regulus?" Sevas said with a light grin.

‎"I think you all might be forgetting my son isn’t out of the race just yet." Selene also argued.

‎Amon and Rhudeus meanwhile, watched the rest bicker without a care in the world, even though they had also bet on their offsprings, they cared more about the results rather than speculations. In the end, it was who was stronger that would emerge victorious.

‎Apart from them, Ellaria and her consort didn’t have the face to speak, because their faces has literally been trampled upon by that abominable human.

‎-----------

‎Meanwhile, as the bright light brought Damon back onto the platform, the unruly prince was subjected to a myriad number of gazes.

‎Damon faced them all with a smirk. "While I appreciate the admiring gazes from the ladies, I’m sorry to say to the men that I do not swing that way." He said casting a provocative smirk to the men.

‎All men without exception quickly took their eyes off him.

‎"This arrogant prick!"

‎"Why say such nonsense?"

‎"This bastard is sick in the head!"

‎With the reduced gazes, Damon sat down crosslegged and kicked back against the seat, not before winking at the girls though.

‎’Ah, life is so much fun when you’re unruly.’ The unruly prince thought with an amused smile. He gets to act whatever way he wishes, especially now that he was in disguise.

‎Though, it would seem that his cover was extremely close to being blown. His next match was against Alistair, and unless he was willing to go all out, Damon would use his sword techniques to defeat Alistair at the level he had currently restricted himself to.

‎’Lets see, I don’t think I’ve viewed any status ever since I broke through to the Zeta+ rank a few days ago.’ he thought.

‎’Status.’ he inwardly called.

‎====Status====

‎Name: Damon Darkfell

‎Race: Human

‎Age: 19

‎Title : Third prince of the Darkfell empire.

‎Rank : Zeta+

‎Strength : Zeta+

‎Agility : Gamma-

‎Stamina : Zeta+

‎Aether capacity : Gamma-

‎Luck : Gamma

‎Charm : Alpha

‎Techniques: Aether reinforcement (Grandmaster), Darkfell royal sword style (Perfected), Mirage steps (Perfected).

‎Unique physique : Nexus prism physique (Omega rank.)

‎– initial ability: One of many [Create reflections of yourself to confuse foes. The strength of your reflection depends on the amount of Aether spent. You can seamlessly swap places with any of your reflections.]

– Zeta ability: Mirror Dominion: As the holder of the Nexus mirror Physique, you have many wonderous abilities. Some of which are access to the mirror dimension and the ability to open mirror gates. You can also fuse with your reflections to temporarily increase your strength.

‎-------------

‎That was Damon’s new ability, an ability that was both terrifying and versatile. However, while he gained this superb ability, he also faced some nerfing. The peak power his reflections could now exert was only three hundred percent of his prowess. It had been so since he broke through to the Zeta- rank.

‎Meaning that, even if Damon fused with a prime reflection now, the maximum power he could exert would be three hundred percent of his base prowess.

‎Still, while many would view the downgrade from four hundred percent to three hundred percent as a nerf, Damon on the other hand, was more than happy. The exchange was that he could now be stronger than his reflections.

‎He had always disliked the very idea of sending his reflections to fight while he stayed behind, even if they were technically the same person.

‎Damon was sure that were he to stop holding back, he could clear this whole convergence, Alistair, Namor, Anastasia and Kaal be damned.

‎Buy there was one reason Damon wouldn’t do that. Where was the fun in that? It was way better being just a ’dark horse’ than being the ’overwhelmingly overpowered dark horse’.

‎Damon wanted his strength to shine bit by bit, defeating everyone in his way one after the other, until he took the title of champion.

‎’Yes, that sounds more fun.’ He mused. ’I should probably tone down my arrogance though.’ He thought at his reactions and replies towards Ivis. Though he had partly done that to match the arrogance of the elven prince, his own arrogance was also partly there.

‎’But if I reveal myself, will I still be a dark horse?’ he pondered. ’Meh, it doesn’t matter.’ He shrugged. ’But this next fight would be very amusing.’ he smiled.

‎"FOR OUR NEXT MATCH, WE HAVE THE MONARCH OF SHADOWS, ARIC TINUBU, AND AGAINST HIM IS THE THREAD MASTER, DION WILLIAMS!!!!"

‎ The two who were called weren’t surprised. They had already deduced that they would cross blades the moment the table depicting the fixtures was shown.

‎"Those two will really be facing each other?" Delilah muttered as the white light transported the two to the ground.

‎"I do not know, well just have to wait and watch."

‎Meanwhile, Aric and Dion faced each other on the battlefield in silence after the commentator declared the match to begin.

‎"Can’t you just forfeit?" Dion asked after a while.

‎Aric’s mouth twitched. "Why don’t you forfeit?"

‎"Because, my mother would be very disappointed if I do." Dion replied without missing a beat.

‎"...This shameless..." Aric was at a loss for words. Since when did Dion have a mother?

‎"I don’t recall you having a mother, so how could she speak to you?" Aric argued.

‎"What do you know? She speaks to me in my dreams." Dion retorted.

‎"You know what, I won’t even entertain your shenanigans." Aric shook his head. "Let’s just fight, and see who comes out on top."

‎"You really won’t forfeit?"

‎"No."

‎"Please?"

‎"No."

‎"Then I would tell." Dion said.

‎Aric understood what Dion meant in a flicker of a second.

‎"Hah, you wouldn’t dare!" Aric gasped.

‎"Of course I dare." Dion grinned smugly.

‎"If you tell, then I’ll also tell. What do you think about that huh?" Aric asked.

‎"It really comes down to a fight, doesn’t it?" Dion muttered.

‎"Yes it does." Aric nodded. "Or maybe you can forfeit."

‎"Just don’t hold back on me." Dion muttered as a sleek sword appeared in his hand.

‎"Didn’t plan to." Aric muttered as his own weapon materialized in his own hands.

‎"WELL IT WOULD SEEM THE LITTLE SPAT OUR CONTESTANTS WERE HAVING HAS COME TO AN END! THOUGH, I KIND OF WISHED WE COULD HAVE HEARD WHAT IT WAS THAT THEY WANTED TO TELL! I BET IT WOULD BE SOME JUICY GOSSIP. WHAT A SHAME I SAY, WHAT A SHAME!"

‎"These two will never change." Damon muttered with a smile. Though he was also as curious as the commentator if not more. What is it that they wanted to tell? But Damon knew he wouldn’t be getting his answer anytime soon, so he didn’t ponder on it, and instead focused on the fight that was about to start.

‎A myriad number of strings burst out from Dion’s fingers and shot towards Aric cutting through the air with lethal intent.

‎But Aric stood unfazed before the myriad strings, he raised his blade and deflected each string with baffling accuracy.

‎Clang! Clang! Clang! Clang! Clang!

‎Each impact between the strings and Aric’s blade rang out like sonorous notes against the air. It sounded like steel was being hit against steel.

‎But the strings were like a persisting thorn that refused to budge. Each deflection only increased their ferocity. Aric turned into myriad afterimages as his sword continued to hit the strings.

‎Just then, some strings managed to slip past his defenses, and tried to reach for his legs.

‎Aric’s movements became blurred as he seemingly kicked against the ground, creating a concussive shockwave that blew the strings away, then spun mid air and swing his blade in a horizontal motion.

‎<Shadow wave>

‎A thin black arc of shadow followed the arc which Aric’s sword traced in the air, and shot towards Dion, effortlessly severing every single string in its way.

‎Dion seeing the shadow wave, blurred to the side instantly, not wanting to risk it. The attack streaked past and struck the ground in the distance, carving a massive laceration into the earth.
