The Exiled Alpha's Human Male Mate.[BL]

Chapter 57: Caught In Bed A Second Time.

The car began to slow as it approached YOLO night Club, and almost immediately, Bryce caught the familiar scent that had become so deeply ingrained in his senses that he could recognize it anywhere.

Of course Dave was here, Bryce thought.

This was Dave’s favorite club. He had brought Bryce here several times before, enough for the place to have become familiar despite how little Bryce cared for it himself.

When the tracker had failed to locate Dave, this was the only place Bryce could think of checking. If Dave had gone anywhere tonight, there was a good chance he had come here.

"He’s here," Bryce said.

He immediately reached for the door, only to discover that it was still locked.

"How do you know?" Vincent asked.

"I can smell him," Bryce answered without hesitation.

Vincent’s fingers tightened around the steering wheel, and for a moment, he could barely breathe through the thought of Bryce knowing another man that intimately.

Vincent had never known himself capable of being jealous over such things, but lately, he was discovering more and more things he hadn’t known he was capable of.

He reluctantly unlocked the doors.

Bryce pushed his open immediately and stepped out, with Vincent following close behind until they were walking side by side toward the entrance.

Vincent had already decided what he would do once they found Dave. He would wait until Bryce told him that his brothers were plotting against him, and then he would erase Bryce from Dave’s memory.

That would be the end of it.

After all, Bryce had made it clear that he wanted to break free from Dave, so Vincent saw no reason to consider his actions wrong.

As they drew nearer to the entrance, he slowed down. He was certain there was a good chance that many people there would recognize him.

His face had become almost impossible to conceal in public. He had appeared on the front page of business newspapers, on national television, in magazines, and across countless interviews.

His name had gained even more attention after he announced that he would be donating a substantial amount to a children’s home every month, an act that had propelled him into the headlines and made him even more recognizable.

If anyone recognized him inside the club, there was a good chance they would take a photograph, and that was the last thing he wanted.

Meanwhile, Bryce’s attention was already fixed on the scene ahead of them.

The club was every bit as chaotic as he remembered.

Music reverberating through the building with enough force to vibrate through the ground, bodies crowded together beneath the shifting neon lights.

Voices mingled with laughter, drunken shouts, and the clinking of glasses;

people were drinking, smoking, gambling, kissing, dancing.

Men were with men, women with women, men with women, and every corner seemed to carry some new spectacle.

Vincent had not even crossed the threshold, yet the overwhelming blend of unfamiliar scents and deafening noise was already assaulting his senses.

Bryce reached for his ID to hand it to the guards at the entrance, only to realize that neither of them was moving.

He turned abruptly toward Vincent.

"Did you do that world-stop thing again?" he asked, his voice even.

"I can’t let anyone see me in a filthy place like this one," Vincent replied.

He walked straight past the motionless guards and through the entrance, leaving Bryce no choice but to follow.

Inside, people had been frozen exactly where they stood, their bodies suspended in the middle of whatever they had been doing.

Vincent moved carefully between them, making certain that he didn’t brush against any of the bodies.

"Find where he is," he told Bryce.

Bryce moved ahead, but Vincent caught his hand and stopped him.

"Concentrate on his scent," he instructed. "It will lead you directly to him."

There were too many smells competing for Bryce’s attention- alcohol, smoke, perfume, sweat, food, and countless unfamiliar scents layered over one another until the air itself seemed saturated with them.

But the moment Bryce focused on Dave’s scent, it gradually separated from the others, becoming more distinct with every breath.

Vincent had been right.

The stronger Bryce concentrated on it, the more clearly he could follow it.

He began walking without even consciously deciding where he was going.

His body seemed to recognize the direction before his mind did, guiding him through the crowded club and toward a staircase.

Bryce climbed.

With every step, his heartbeat quickened. The only rooms upstairs were the private ones, where people went to indulge in whatever they preferred to keep away from the crowd.

Bryce couldn’t help wondering what Dave was doing up there.

Was he with someone else?

The possibility took root in Bryce’s mind, stirring an irritation he couldn’t suppress even before he had any confirmation that it was true.

"Why do I feel like the person you’re so worried about is somewhere in here having a good time, and you’re just about to ruin it?" Vincent remarked from directly behind him.

Bryce ignored him and continued following the scent.

They reached a corridor where there were no people moving through, only several closed doors lining the passageway, muffled voices occasionally drifting from behind them.

Vincent withdrew his influence.

Keeping everyone downstairs suspended in place for too long risked attracting unwanted attention, especially if anyone beyond the affected area happened to notice that something was amiss.

The moment his control lifted, the club resumed its ordinary rhythm.

Bryce kept walking until he stopped before one particular door.

A male voice drifted from the other side.

"When you keep calling me a name that isn’t mine, it turns me off. I told you already... my name is Leo, who the hell is Bryce? That name is starting to sicken me."

Bryce’s entire body went rigid.

Another voice answered.

"How dare you get the audacity to challenge what I call you, you little slut? Do I look like I care whether you’re turned on or off? I’m paying you to respond to whatever I do or say, so when I..."

Bryce’s chest heaved.

His fingers curled slowly into fists as something inside him snapped.

Before he could think about what he was doing, he slammed his shoulder against the door with such force that the lock splintered.

The door flew inward with terrifying violence, crashing open as Bryce surged into the room with a strength he had spent hours desperately trying to summon and had been unable to access until that exact moment.

Dave jolted upright in bed.

His upper body was still clothed, while his lower body was completely bare.

The young man between his legs, however, was fully dressed. He climbed off the bed and hurried out without even looking to see who had entered the room. Bryce’s gaze followed him as he rushed past, and his anger only intensified.

The resemblance was almost unnerving.

Everything about the young man seemed to echo Bryce himself, except for the face.

His blond hair thay fell loosely across his forehead, his clothes that reflected Bryce’s own unmistakable style, and even the proportions of his body appeared eerily similar to his.

For several seconds, Bryce could do nothing but stare at the disappearing figure.
