Morning arrived over Hildgard with a pale silver light.

The three moons were fading from the sky as the sun rose, leaving only faint traces of crimson, blue, and violet behind them.

The tournament had entered its most competitive stage.

The strongest prospects were beginning to collide.

And after Noah’s battle with Jordan and Laura’s victory over Christina, everyone had started paying closer attention to Valhalla Academy.

Especially to Noah.

The arena screens illuminated.

INDIVIDUAL ELIMINATION

ROUND TWO

Several names appeared.

Then the crowd erupted.

DANIELA VANNHEIM

ELEMENTRO ACADEMY

VS

MIRA SÆTHER

NIFLHEIM ACADEMY

Daniela walked toward the arena.

Her long hair moved gently in the wind.

Her expression remained calm.

Across from her, Mira entered carrying two curved blades.

She smiled.

"So you’re Daniela Vannheim."

Daniela nodded.

"Yes."

"I’ve heard you’re one of Elementro’s four strongest."

Daniela smiled faintly.

"I’ve heard you’re fast."

Mira’s smile widened.

"Then let’s see which rumor is true."

The referee raised his hand.

"Begin!"

Mira vanished.

WHOOSH!

She appeared behind Daniela.

Her blade swung.

Daniela moved half a step.

The blade missed.

Mira immediately reversed direction.

Another strike.

Daniela avoided it again.

The crowd murmured.

Mira frowned.

"You’re not even looking at me."

Daniela’s eyes remained calm.

"I don’t need to."

Mira attacked again.

Daniela raised one hand.

A pulse of energy erupted.

BOOM!

Mira was thrown backward.

She flipped through the air and landed on one knee.

Daniela stood completely still.

Mira stared.

"How did you know where I was?"

Daniela didn’t answer.

Her perception had already mapped the battlefield.

Every movement.

Every change in energy.

Every shift in pressure.

To Daniela, the fight wasn’t about seeing her opponent.

It was about reading them.

Mira attacked again.

This time she increased her speed.

Daniela’s eyes sharpened.

She could see Mira’s energy concentrating in her legs.

She’s changing direction.

Mira suddenly appeared on Daniela’s right.

Daniela blocked.

CLANG!

Mira spun.

Left.

Daniela blocked.

Above.

Daniela moved.

Behind.

Daniela turned.

Mira became frustrated.

"How are you doing this?!"

Daniela calmly answered:

"You’re telling me where you’re going."

Mira’s eyes widened.

Daniela stepped forward.

"Every attack begins somewhere."

Her energy gathered around her hand.

"And your power tells me where."

BOOM!

The blast struck Mira directly.

She flew outside the boundary.

The referee raised his hand.

"WINNER! DANIELA VANNHEIM!"

The Elementro section erupted.

Daniela turned toward the spectators.

Her eyes immediately found Noah.

He was watching.

Then she noticed Alcris.

He wasn’t watching her victory.

He was watching Noah watching her.

Her smile faded.

After the match, Daniela walked through one of the arena corridors.

She stopped when she saw Alcris.

"You weren’t watching my fight."

Alcris smiled.

"I was."

"No."

She stepped closer.

"You were watching Noah."

Alcris didn’t deny it.

"He was watching you."

Daniela’s expression hardened.

"So?"

"So nothing."

"You’ve been studying him for days."

"Observing."

"Same thing."

Alcris smiled.

"Not quite."

Daniela folded her arms.

"What are you looking for?"

Alcris stared at her.

Then his perception activated.

For a brief instant, he looked directly into her eyes.

Daniela felt something strange.

It was as though he had looked through her.

Not at her.

Through her.

She immediately stepped back.

"Don’t do that."

Alcris’s eyes returned to normal.

"Why?"

"Because I don’t like it."

He smiled.

"That’s unfortunate."

Daniela’s expression became colder.

"You really are different."

Alcris looked away.

"Maybe I’ve always been."

Across the arena, Noah was speaking with Laura.

"You saw Daniela’s fight?"

Laura nodded.

"Yes."

"She’s incredible."

"She is."

Noah looked toward Daniela.

"Her perception is different from yours."

Laura glanced at him.

"You noticed?"

"Yeah."

"How?"

"She doesn’t move until she knows exactly what her opponent is doing."

Laura smiled.

"That’s Daniela."

Noah looked toward Alcris.

"And his perception?"

Laura’s expression became more serious.

"Different."

"How?"

"I don’t know."

Laura paused.

"But I’ve noticed something."

"What?"

"He doesn’t simply sense power."

She looked toward Alcris.

"He watches people."

Noah frowned.

"What does that mean?"

"I’m not sure."

Laura lowered her voice.

"But when he looks at someone..."

She paused.

"...it’s almost like he’s seeing something underneath them."

Noah remembered the way Alcris had looked at him.

That strange sensation.

As though something inside him had been exposed.

"Yeah."

Noah nodded.

"I’ve felt that."

Later that afternoon, another announcement echoed through the arena.

NEXT MATCH

NOAH BLACKWOOD

VALHALLA ACADEMY

VS

SEREN VALE

MILGARD ACADEMY

Noah stood.

Laura looked at him.

"Another one."

Noah smiled.

"Let’s go."

But before he entered the battlefield, Alcris’s voice came from behind him.

"Noah."

He turned.

Alcris stood several meters away.

"What?"

Alcris smiled.

"Good luck."

Noah narrowed his eyes.

"Thanks."

Alcris walked past him.

Then quietly whispered:

"Try not to use Dead Zone."

Noah froze.

His eyes widened.

Alcris kept walking.

Laura immediately noticed Noah’s reaction.

"What did he say?"

Noah stared at Alcris’s back.

"He knows."

Laura’s expression changed.

"What?"

"He knows the name."

The arena announcement sounded again.

"NOAH BLACKWOOD! REPORT TO THE BATTLEFIELD!"

Noah looked toward the arena.

Then toward Alcris.

For the first time...

he didn’t feel merely watched.

He felt studied.

And Alcris knew far more than he should.

Noah entered the arena.

Seren waited opposite him.

The referee raised his hand.

"Begin!"

Seren attacked immediately.

Noah blocked.

CLANG!

He countered.

Seren dodged.

The battle began.

But Noah’s mind wasn’t completely on the fight.

One thought kept repeating.

How does Alcris know?

Then his system appeared.

[Warning.]

Noah’s eyes widened.

A second message followed.

[Foreign perception detected.]

Noah froze.

He looked toward the spectator section.

Alcris was staring directly at him.

His eyes glowed faintly.

And for a split second...

Noah could feel someone looking through his eyes.

Into his body.

Into his power.

Into Ragnarok.

Noah’s flames erupted instinctively.

The crowd gasped.

Alcris smiled.

"Found you."

Noah’s flames erupted.

The arena reacted instantly.

The crowd roared as orange fire spiraled around his arms.

Across the battlefield, Seren Vale narrowed her eyes.

She had been waiting for an opening.

Now she had one.

She charged.

WHOOSH!

Noah barely turned in time.

Her blade struck.

CLANG!

He blocked with his forearm.

The impact pushed him backward.

Seren followed with another strike.

Noah ducked.

A third.

He stepped aside.

Then he countered.

BOOM!

His fist struck her guard.

Seren flew backward but landed cleanly.

"You’re distracted."

Noah straightened.

"Yeah."

Seren frowned.

"Why?"

Noah glanced toward the spectator section.

Alcris was still watching.

"Someone’s looking through my eyes."

Seren stared at him.

"What?"

Noah didn’t explain.

He couldn’t.

Because he could feel it.

That sensation.

Something was reaching into his perception.

Not physically.

Not magically in a way he understood.

It felt as though another set of eyes had appeared behind his own.

Watching everything he saw.

The battlefield.

Seren.

The audience.

His own flames.

And deeper...

Ragnarok.

Alcris stood perfectly still.

His perception had activated.

To him, the world looked different.

Seren’s energy appeared as flowing lines.

Noah’s appeared brighter.

More chaotic.

The orange fire wasn’t simply surrounding Noah’s body.

It was connected to something deeper.

Alcris focused.

The world around him blurred.

He saw Noah’s eyes.

Then through them.

He could see what Noah saw.

Not perfectly.

Only fragments.

But enough.

The battlefield.

Seren.

Laura.

The three moons.

Then something else.

A dark silhouette.

Standing behind Noah’s consciousness.

Alcris’s eyes widened.

There you are.

The silhouette turned.

Its maroon eyes opened.

Alcris’s perception immediately shattered.

He stumbled backward.

His hand caught the railing.

"What..."

For the first time, genuine shock crossed his face.

The presence had looked directly at him.

Not Noah.

It had seen Alcris.

Noah felt something disappear.

The pressure behind his eyes vanished.

He immediately understood.

"You’re gone."

Seren took advantage of his distraction.

She rushed forward.

Noah turned.

Too late.

Her blade struck his shoulder.

SLASH!

A shallow cut opened.

Blood ran down his uniform.

The crowd gasped.

"Noah!"

Laura stood from her seat.

Noah grabbed his shoulder.

Seren stepped back.

"You’re really distracted."

Noah looked at the blood.

Then smiled.

"Yeah."

His flames grew brighter.

"But I’m focused now."

Seren’s expression tightened.

Noah disappeared.

BOOM!

He appeared in front of her.

She blocked.

The impact forced her backward.

Noah attacked again.

Seren dodged.

Again.

She blocked.

Again.

The pressure became overwhelming.

Noah’s movements had changed.

He wasn’t simply attacking.

He was adapting.

Seren attempted to retreat.

Noah cut off her path.

She changed direction.

He was already there.

She attacked.

He countered.

Finally, Noah struck her guard with a concentrated burst of fire.

WHOOOM!

Seren was thrown across the arena.

She landed outside the boundary.

The referee raised his hand.

"WINNER! NOAH BLACKWOOD!"

The Valhalla section exploded.

Noah exhaled.

His flames disappeared.

Laura immediately reached him.

"Your shoulder."

"I’m fine."

She looked at the wound.

"That’s not what fine looks like."

"It’s shallow."

"Still."

She began treating it.

Noah looked toward the spectator section.

Alcris was gone.

His seat was empty.

Noah frowned.

"Where did he go?"

Laura followed his gaze.

"I don’t know."

Volstra Academy Residence

Alcris entered his room and shut the door.

He stood against it.

His breathing was heavier than usual.

He had spent the entire tournament studying Noah.

Analyzing his power.

Learning his patterns.

But today...

Something had looked back.

He walked to his desk and opened his notebook.

His hand trembled slightly.

He wrote:

Observation: Ragnarok contains an independent consciousness.

He paused.

Then added:

Dead Zone is aware of external observation.

Another line.

It recognized me.

Alcris stared at the words.

Then slowly smiled.

Instead of fear...

there was excitement in his eyes.

"You’re not just a power."

He closed the notebook.

"You’re alive."

He sat down.

For several minutes, he said nothing.

Then he remembered the silhouette.

Those maroon eyes.

That expression.

The way it had looked directly at him.

Alcris’s smile faded.

"It knew I was there."

He leaned back.

"How?"

Across Hildgard, Noah stood beneath the evening sky.

Laura was beside him.

"You’ve been quiet."

Noah looked at his hand.

"I felt something."

"Alcris?"

"Yes."

Laura’s expression became serious.

"What did he do?"

"He looked through my eyes."

She stared.

"What?"

"I don’t know how else to explain it."

Noah paused.

"It was like I wasn’t the only person seeing through them."

Laura’s eyes narrowed.

"And then?"

"It disappeared."

He looked toward the three moons.

"But something else happened."

"What?"

Noah’s expression darkened.

"Dead Zone saw him."

Laura went silent.

Noah continued.

"And I don’t think Dead Zone liked being watched."

A faint maroon spark appeared in Noah’s palm.

Laura immediately noticed.

"Noah."

The spark formed the shape of an eye.

It opened.

Then vanished.

Noah stared at his hand.

Laura whispered:

"That’s getting worse."

Noah nodded.

"Yeah."

Far away, Alcris stood at his window.

His eyes were fixed on the same moonlit sky.

He whispered one sentence.

"Then I’ll have to find out what you’re protecting."
