"Yes, this will work. I don’t see any flaws in the construction. Now, a little tweak to the materials so that we won’t have any issues activating the more powerful wards as Legendary ones, and there we go.

Now, for the magic."

The whole tower lit up with bright white light, which then shifted to black, green, then red before settling back on white.

{Darklight Dungeon} Variable Difficulty, 5 or 10 participants.

That was all that you could see from the System when you looked at it, but Oak’s father nodded in satisfaction.

"There we go. It should be good for everyone up to Supreme Ranked. You can tell people it only goes up to Peak Immortal if you like, just to save some headaches, but it’ll be fine even with Supreme Ranked teams.

You’ll have to watch that exit condition, though.

The way that you set it, it will kick them out at the moment of death and put a healing spell on them. Only, if they suffer too much overkill, that spell won’t heal enough damage to bring them back to a survivable state, and it’s not resurrection. So, I implemented it with a two-minute timer.

If you remain unconscious at below one percent health for two minutes, it will kick you out.

That way groups that lose their cleric can still fight, and the cleric will be safely ejected from the trial."

Karl hadn’t thought of that.

"I use a similar runic set in the trial arena, and it ejects people in the middle of a skill, right at the moment of death. So, I thought that it would be fine in this one as well," he explained.

The dragon nodded. "I can see the logic. But the issue is that it’s in an instance. There is a bit of a delay in the activation, so it won’t interrupt an attack skill. Tossing corpses out of the dungeon might ruin your reputation if it happens when the healer is still inside."

Cara laughed at the thought. It would be a nightmare for groups that momentarily lost a member, or who had one with a rescue type skill that only kicked in after the point of "death". But they hadn’t thought of that when modelling it after the arena.

"Alright, we’ve got our dungeon, now it’s time to bring our guests. Karl, you promised something cool." Oak demanded.

Karl smiled as he raised one hand to the sky and activated the [Blessing of Skill] ability.

{Blessing of Skill} Creates one Random Skill. Cost varies based on Rarity. 1 Point for Common Skills, 5 for Rare Skills, 25 for Epic Skills, 50 for Artifact Grade Skills, 500 for Legendary Skills.

500 points vanished in an instant, and a pillar of divine light stretched from his extended hand to the heavens, reaching beyond the limits of the world’s atmosphere to light up space like a beacon before hitting the moon.

Then, the light spread, causing a fifty kilometre glowing patch of light that grew more intense as you approached the Darklight Host Guild House.

Finally, a thick leather tome appeared in Karl’s hands, and the light of the spell began to fade.

"Holy shit." Father Oak gasped.

"Legendary. That’s a Legendary skill," Leon agreed.

[Legacy of Creation] allows the caster to grant the potential for an Immortal Spirit to a non-sapient beast, evolving their bloodline into one capable of self-directed growth.

Everyone stared at the book, while Cara cackled wildly. Oh, she couldn’t wait for Karl to learn that skill. There were so many wonderful things that she could do with a legendary skill to make regular beasts into intelligent magical beasts.

Just a few minor tweaks, and lost species could be brought back from their surviving relative species. Or she could even create entirely new species that would fill important ecological niches.

Like giving mice water magic.

Hawk laughed so hard that he nearly fell off his favourite branch.

His favourite snack using his mortal enemy to fight back? That would make meal times so much more entertaining. Water Magic was not stronger than Earth Magic, and he still vividly remembered that first Earth Mouse that he had ever eaten.

If it tasted freshly washed instead of a bit like dirt, it would have been pure bliss.

As much as he hated water magic, water elemental creature were really quite tasty. So, he would not object if Cara started making a few small changes to creatures that would make them more edible.

Karl had his doubts.

If this skill didn’t come with some extreme limitations, there were going to be so many headaches in his future that he would never stop cleaning them up.

However, he couldn’t just keep the book out in the open, or it was going to incite a riot once the other Clan Leaders arrived.

It had to be gone before anyone saw it.

{Skill Learned} [Legacy of Creation]

{Usable Only By Ancients and Avatars of the World Dragon}

Karl laughed quietly as Cara raised her hands to the sky in a silent plea for mercy. How could the gods be so cruel as to keep such a wonderful skill from her? It was perfect, utterly perfect, and they had decreed that she was not eligible?

No, she would have to become an Ancient Chaos Badger, then she could use it.

And now, Karl should have the power, right?

She just needed to find the right bribe to convince him to change her so that she gained the Legendary power of creating new creatures.

[It’s just a shame that it doesn’t work on plants. If it worked on plants, it would be so much better. We would never be short on reagents again.] Remi thought.

Thor was pretty sure he understood the issue. [Maybe when he levels up? It’s probably limited at Immortal Rank, right? Like your Thousand Year Flood was when you were mortal. So, when he gets more powerful, he should be able to do plants too.

Or, he can use the skill on his dragon breath when he is in Avatar Form, and it should help, since that breath already improves plants.]

The Behemoth had a point. The World Dragon breath already improved plants, so they just needed a more powerful world dragon Avatar to do the plants. They didn’t need the legendary skill at all, just patience.

And patience was overrated.
