The First Patriarch: Streaming My Cosmic Harem
Chapter 111: Corrupted Timber-WolfThe beast stood eight meters long from snout to tail, its gaunt, corded frame draped in mottled grey fur that mirrored the color of dead bark.
Sickly green light flickered within its sunken eye sockets, radiating a cold, malicious intelligence.
A ragged, half-healed claw scar gouged across its ribbed flank, oozing faint traces of blackened ichor.
[Target: Corrupted Timber-Wolf (E-Rank - Mutated )]
[Level: 5]
[HP: 724/750]
[Trait: Cold-Blooded Camouflage (Passive) - Nullifies thermal radiation and organic heat signatures while stationary. A physiological mutation forged through prolonged exposure to the caustic river, dropping its core body temperature to match the subterranean chill.]
’So that’s why Thermal Gaze missed it,’ Azriel thought, steadying his breathing as his spine throbbed with a dull, bruised ache.
A cold-blooded stalker... and an outcast at that.
[LIVE CHAT]
[Sadistic69] (Red): THAT RECOVERY WAS INSANE! BRO ALMOST DISSOLVED IN ACID WATER!
[Battle_Maiden_Vera] (White): Level 5 veteran wolf! Look at that HP pool and camouflage trait!
[Nine_Tailed_Vixen] (Cyan): My heart literally stopped when his boot melted! Kill that mangy mutt, Azriel!
[I_Love_Leaf] (Golden): Watch out for its reach, that tail and those front paws have massive sweep!
High above in the gloom of the obsidian willow branches, Vesperia remained utterly motionless.
Her silhouette melted into the dense foliage, her golden feline pupils narrowed into fine, lethal slits.
Her manicured nails subtly bit into the hard wood beneath her palms, pressing deep enough to split the dark bark.
She held her breath, suppressing every trace of her presence.
Azriel had survived the initial ambush through sheer raw reflex, now, with his heels literally balanced over the precipice of an acidic river, she wanted to see whether his weapon mastery could endure when blood, agony, and mortal terror collided.
GRRRRRR...
A low, guttural vibration rolled from the beast’s barrel chest, vibrating through the slick river stones beneath Azriel’s boots.
The veteran wolf didn’t leap recklessly.
Lowering its massive, battle-scarred snout until its whiskers brushed the moss, it began a slow, calculated prowl along the perimeter.
Each heavy pawfall was deliberate, methodically herding him tighter against the bubbling, phosphorescent drop where the corrosive fumes hissed against the damp air.
Azriel didn’t wait to be backed into a corner.
WUUUSH—!
With a sharp, whip-like snap of his left wrist, he launched the iron fundo.
The heavy weight screamed through the humid air in a blinding horizontal line, whistling straight for the beast’s unhealed flank.
The wolf’s veteran instincts flared.
Instead of attempting a sluggish evasion, it snapped its massive jaws shut mid-strike, biting clean through the trajectory and clamping the heavy iron chain between its jagged, reinforced fangs with a deafening CLANG.
The shockwave reverberated straight up Azriel’s forearm like a lightning strike, jarring his shoulder socket.
Before he could pull the slack, the wolf twisted its thick neck, dug its front paws into the stone shelf, and wrenched with brute torque.
The sheer physical disparity yanked Azriel violently across the slick rocks.
Rather than fighting the overwhelming momentum, Azriel leaned directly into the pull, accelerating forward at breakneck speed.
"You want the chain, you mangy mutt?!" Azriel snarled, closing the ten-meter gap in the blink of an eye.
"Choke on it!"
Right as the wolf raised its massive, shadow-wreathed paw to swat him out of existence, Azriel dropped into a low, friction-defying slide directly beneath the monster’s raised chest.
With his left hand, he didn’t let go of the weapon, he whipped the trailing chain slack underneath the beast’s front legs, binding its thick forelimbs in a lightning-fast figure-eight wrap.
CLINK CLINK CLACK!
The wolf’s slitted eyes flared with shock as its own locked jaws maintained the tension that bound its front paws together.
Azriel popped up from the slide behind the beast’s blind spot, his crescent sickle flashing in a high-speed reverse grip.
SHRRK— SHRRK!
Two blinding silver arcs severed the thick hamstring tendons in the wolf’s left hind leg.
Black, foul ichor sprayed across Azriel’s face, and the massive eight-meter beast collapsed sideways onto the stone shelf with a thunderous BANG.
CRACK—!
Enraged, the wolf spat the chain free, and its heavy, bone-spiked tail whipped sideways like a severed steel cable snapping under tension.
Azriel brought his gauntlet up to parry, but the tail was too fast, carrying the beast’s full rotational weight.
SMACK— CRUNCH!
The jagged bony spikes shattered his guard and ripped clean across his chest and right shoulder.
The reinforced fabric gave way instantly, tearing through skin and muscle as Azriel was violently hurled through the air like a ragdoll.
He crashed hard against a jagged boulder, coughing out a mouthful of warm crimson blood as several ribs cracked under the blunt trauma.
The burning venom seeped straight into his open wounds, sending an icy numbness spreading through his veins.
The wolf, despite its severed tendon, dragged itself up on three trembling legs.
Its sickly green eyes blazed with murderous triumph as it lunged forward, opening its maw to crush Azriel’s battered skull against the rock.
Thump-thump. Thump-thump.
Azriel’s vision tinted crimson.
The searing pain in his torso didn’t cloud his senses, it ignited an explosive wave of adrenaline that sharpened every perception to a razor’s edge.
WHIRRRR—!
Yanking the slack chain back with his left hand, Azriel spun the fundo in a furious, blinding vertical orbit.
The iron weight rotated so violently it produced a deafening sonic hum that cut through the cavern’s humidity.
CLASH— SPARK!
As the wolf snapped its jaws downward, the spinning fundo struck the beast directly under its lower snout.
The kinetic impact shattered its front teeth and forcefully snapped its massive head backward.
Using the rebound from the collision, Azriel pushed through the burning agony in his ribs and threw his entire body into a full 360-degree spin.
He hurled the crescent sickle forward like a tethered harpoon.
THWACK— SPLAT!
The curved blade buried itself to the hilt directly into the wolf’s old, half-healed abdominal scar.
"AWOOOOO—!"
