The Dao Lords wanted the Will to ascend immediately so that their survival would be more secure in the third heaven, but the Will of the Blessed Heaven World wasn’t in a rush to ascend because it felt safe in the Sea of Worlds.

With its strength, the Will of the Blessed Heaven World didn’t believe that there was anything that could threaten it in the Sea of Worlds. So instead of rushing to ascend and cutting off some of its potential in exchange for haste, it wanted to prioritize gaining as many benefits as possible from the Sea of Worlds before ascending.

The Will of the World was hell-bent on securing its future while the Dao Lords were intent on securing their present. With the two sides not seeing eye to eye, they could only argue and try to persuade each other.

The argument continued for a long time, but Loki wasn’t paying attention. He wasn’t in a hurry to help the Blessed Heaven World ascend, and he didn’t care if it failed its ascension, so he couldn’t muster any interest in the argument.

He wanted to stay out of the argument, but the Will of the Blessed Heaven World had other plans. The Will asked him, saying, "Ragnarok, what do you think about my plan?"

The eyes of every Dao Lord fell on him as soon as this question was asked. Many of them were wondering why the Blessed Heaven World was even asking for his opinion, but some people were already sending secret messages to him to sway him to say the right thing.

He pretended to think about the question for a while before saying, "I think your plan to get nine more Dao Initiates is a good idea. You should take your time to strengthen yourself. After all, you only ascend once. If you fail to ascend, you will never get another chance."

Upon hearing his answer, the ghostly figure nodded and said in satisfaction, "Good answer. I knew I could count on you to see my point. It seems I wasn’t wrong about you."

Then it said solemnly, "When I ascend, I will protect you in the third heaven. I won’t let anyone bully you."

Inwardly, Loki’s face was dark, and he was sneering as he thought, ’Let’s wait and see how you fare before you start bragging about how you will protect me.’

But outwardly, he said, "Oh my! Thank you very much for the trust and protection. I look forward to your ascension."

The only thing sincere about what he said was how he was looking forward to the ascension of the Will of the World. He was eager to see how well the Will of the World would be able to perform without its large size as a source of its power.

While he was fantasizing about this beautiful future, he was also receiving a lot of angry messages from the other nine Dao Lords around him.

"What were you thinking?"

"How could you say something like that?"

"What has gotten into your head?"

"It seems you really don’t know the importance of a Divine Mountain. Didn’t the guardian tell you about it?"

Loki ignored all of these messages and instead focused his mind on the work that his true body was doing in the third heaven.

"That fucker!" Martial said in anger in a secret message to the other Dao Lords. "What is wrong with him?"

"He made those demands and took all of those benefits, and this is how he repays us? I really want to beat him to death."

Heavenly Eye, with a confused and uncertain tone, said, "What I find most odd about him was how he was thinking about how the Will’s plan was a horrible one, but the words that came out of his mouth were the direct opposite."

"So either what I perceived was not his true thoughts, or something external forced him to agree with the Will of the World. I doubt it is the former since he is so weak. He is just a one-star celestial, so he shouldn’t be able to hide his thoughts from me, but what could have forced him to say the opposite of what he was thinking?"

Tepid Scholar also said, "He is suspicious, alright. Do you think he is an avatar of the Will of the World? It would explain why he is agreeing with the Blessed Heaven World even though the plan is irresponsible, and it would explain how he suddenly became a Dao Lord after he awakened."

The secret discussions the Dao Lords were having, and the argument they were having with the Will of the Blessed Heaven World, were all contained within the divine constellation, so the other Dao Lords watching in the sky couldn’t tell what the Blessed Heaven World was planning.

But this ignorance didn’t stop the undercurrent moving throughout the Sea of Worlds. In fact, the high activity state of the Blessed Heaven World was only urging the development of the undercurrents.

Wandering Thief was one of the Dao Lords on the sidelines, watching the changes that the Blessed Heaven World was going through. When he saw how the Blessed Heaven World had become so big and powerful, with its size nearly doubling in one day, he became a little bit anxious.

After he saw the Will of the Blessed Heaven World freed, he closed the rift he was looking through and hurried away to execute his plan. Along the way, his mind was churning with the repercussions of his actions.

"Maybe I shouldn’t have turned them away like that," he said with worry. "Maybe I should have delayed and wasted their time before saying no."

"I don’t regret saying no, though. Those vampires and vermin cannot be allowed to have any hold on my world."

"They are too greedy and untrustworthy. I am sure that if I had allowed them to set up Domain there, they would have tried to kill me to get rid of me."
