In the second dimension, Money Body’s divine body had shattered and turned into dust. Loki thought nothing of it since he was the main reason why it happened.
He thought it was perfectly normal for Money Body’s divine body to scatter. But Dragon Transformation was caught by surprise by this development and thought it was highly unusual.
The rank 9 transformation warrior jerked in surprise and asked, saying, "What happened?"
Loki replied expressionlessly, "He failed in creating the Supreme Metac. He failed at the last step."
Then he warned solemnly, "This is what will happen to you if you don’t focus on what you’re doing."
Dragon Transformation had also entered the final stage of creating his Supreme Metac. His Supreme Metac has been formed. What he needed now was to spend some lifespan to solidify it.
Because he had extracted more commonality than Money Body, it had taken him much longer to reach this point. But now that he had reached this point, he couldn’t fail as long as he had enough lifespan.
However, he didn’t know that he couldn’t fail anymore. So he took Loki’s warning seriously and immediately refocused on his work.
In the core of Dragon Transformation’s Cave Heaven, he was standing in front of a pair of white wings. This was the Supreme Metac of the Speed Pathway.
The wings were still see-through, since they weren’t solid yet. Their size was 5,5,1.
This result was unexpected for Loki because Dragon Transformation had successfully extracted 21.1 units of commonality from the eight rank 8 Divine Metacs. Yet, he had only used 11 units and let the remaining 10.1 units go to waste.
How could he accept something like this? The answer was that he didn’t want to accept it.
Unfortunately, he couldn’t blame Dragon Transformation for this outcome at all. He had seen the entire process, so he knew that Dragon Transformation had tried his best.
According to his observations, the fault was entirely with the Speed Supreme Metac. For some reason, its maximum size could only be 5,5,1.
After reviewing the entire process in his mind, he thought to himself, ’Maybe. Just maybe I’ve been extra hard on Money Body. Maybe Money Body’s performance wasn’t so bad.’
While he was rethinking his evaluation of Money Body’s performance, Dragon Transformation was rolling in the ecstasy of having made something so great.
He said, "I have to thank you, my lord. I couldn’t have done this without your help. Your advice was truly instrumental to my success."
"Originally, I planned to create the Wind Supreme Metac. But thanks to your advice, I was inspired to create something greater. So I came up with the idea for the Speed Supreme Metac on the spot."
"I didn’t think it would work. But it worked. I can’t believe it."
He was full of joy, and his joy was pure. It wasn’t the kind of schemy joy that Money Body had and was using to mask evil intentions. At least, it didn’t look that way to Loki.
But Loki was not in the mood to indulge Dragon Transformation’s joy. He interrupted Dragon Transformation by saying, "So what’s the next step?"
Dragon Transformation bowed his head as he said, "I need to solidify the framework. I need 2,500,000 years of lifespan to solidify it."
When Loki heard this, his eye twitched as he thought, ’One of them didn’t utilize their full potential, while the other went above their initial potential, yet they ended with the same thing. Different routes, but the same destination.’
Outwardly, he said to Dragon Transformation, "You will have what you need."
Even before he supplied the lifespan, Dragon Transformation had already begun to thank him. So when the lifespan came pouring into his life’s work, he was over the moon with being grateful.
This made Loki chuckle inwardly and think, ’I nearly feel bad about killing him. He is just too grateful. He seems like he would do nicely as a servant.’
Then he realized something that made him narrow his eyes at Dragon Transformation, ’Could all of these be his plan to make me spare him? If so, he has another thing coming.’
Now that they were so close to the finish line, the thoughts going through his mind shouldn’t be about why he shouldn’t kill Dragon Transformation.
It might have been an option he thought to amuse himself, or it could be the result of a psychological trick that Dragon Transformation is using on him. Either way, he made up his mind not to be distracted in this last part of the race.
The warning he gave to Dragon Transformation earlier about the dangers of being distracted flashed through his mind. Let that warning be directed at him, which caused his kind to focus.
His eyes immediately focused on Dragon Transformation and the Supreme Metac. He didn’t want to miss any detail, and he didn’t want anything to go wrong, so he was observing everything closely.
After the Supreme Metac was formed, Dragon Transformation bowed to him and said, "I have to thank you again for your help, my lord. Without your help, I would still remain a thug for the Martial Body Sect without the hope of advancing to rank 9."
"I want to renew my promise to do anything you ask of me as a token of my gratitude. It is the least I can do since you’ve helped me so much. I feel unworthy and would like to..."
His words choked off because his Life Fire dimmed all of a sudden.
In a bid to understand what was going on, he looked at Loki and said, "What is happening to me?"
Loki didn’t say anything. He simply watched with a cold and stern expression.
His behavior made Dragon Transformation suspect that he was behind these negative changes. He wasn’t sure about this, but he was sure that Loki would be able to save him even if Loki wasn’t at fault.
