The Hero is Hunting me!

Chapter 142: The Thunder That Descended

At Jinhoo’s house.

Inside Min-seo’s bedroom.

Min-seo lay sprawled across her soft bed, absentmindedly scrolling through her phone.

After a while, she let out a sigh and placed the phone beside her.

"Huh... This is boring..."

Using her lightning ability, she instantly accelerated.

In the blink of an eye, she was standing in front of her bedroom door.

She opened it and stepped outside.

After closing the door behind her, she activated her power again.

She arrived in the living room.

So-ah was sitting comfortably on the couch, watching TV.

She laughed cheerfully, apparently enjoying a comedy show.

Min-seo leaned over the back of the couch.

"So-ah, let’s spar."

Without even looking back, So-ah replied,

"No. I’m busy watching."

"Oh, come on. I’ve been stuck in my room all day. I’m so bored."

"Can’t you see I’m watching TV? Go ask Unnie Elvera instead!"

"Ugh... Fine."

A few moments later, she arrived in front of Elvera’s room.

She opened the door.

Inside, Elvera was completely absorbed in a game on her computer while wearing a headset.

"Come on! Fight me! Damn it! You bastards laughed at me earlier because I played like trash, didn’t you!? Well, where are you now!? You don’t even dare come near me anymore!!"

Min-seo stared at Elvera in confusion.

"Uh... Looks like she’s busy too..."

She quietly stepped back out and gently closed the door.

"Huh... Who else can I ask...?"

She stood there for a moment, thinking about who might be willing to fight her.

"Gae-in!"

"She’s probably outside."

With another burst of lightning, Min-seo shot out of the house.

Not far from Jinhoo’s home.

Gae-in was watering several flower beds.

At that moment—

Crack!

Particles of lightning appeared.

Min-seo materialized right beside her.

Startled, Gae-in nearly dropped the watering can.

"Oh my goodness! You scared me!!"

"Hehe... Sorry."

"Huh... What’s wrong? It’s not like you to come looking for me."

"I want to spar with you. I’ve been bored in my room all day. I need a warm-up."

Hearing that, Gae-in sighed and continued watering the flowers.

"I can’t. I’m watering the plants."

Min-seo glanced at them.

"Whoa, didn’t you used to say taking care of plants was the thing you hated the most?"

"Yeah, that was before... But ever since Oppa started teaching me about plants and how to take care of them, I’ve actually started enjoying it. I think I’ve found a new hobby."

"Ugh... Oh, come on. Everyone’s busy with their own stuff! I want to fight!"

"If you want to spar that badly, why don’t you ask Oppa?"

"Huh... If he were here, why would I be asking all of you?"

"Hmm? He left?"

"Yeah. I don’t know where he went, but Donghyun said Oppa had something to take care of."

Suddenly, Min-seo fell silent.

She seemed deep in thought.

"Min-seo?"

Gae-in called out, confused.

"Ah! Sorry! I think I know what I should do!"

Before Gae-in could say anything else—

Crack!

Min-seo vanished in a flash of lightning.

A few moments later.

She arrived at Donghyun’s room.

She opened the door.

Donghyun was busy hacking on his computer.

Min-seo walked over.

"Hey, Donghyun!"

Donghyun jumped in surprise.

"Whoa!"

He turned toward her.

"Ugh... At least knock before coming in."

"Sorry, but I want to ask you something."

"What is it?"

"You’re... a hacker, right?"

"Uh... Yeah? Why?"

"Uhm... Can you track Jinhoo’s phone?"

"Huh? Why? What for?"

"I... uh..."

Min-seo hesitated, trying to come up with an excuse.

Then an idea struck her.

"Ah! Oppa asked me to come pick him up!"

Donghyun looked a little confused.

"Uh... That’s strange. Normally he’d call me first... But alright."

He turned back toward his monitor.

He began tracking Jinhoo’s phone.

Standing behind him, Min-seo smiled to herself.

’It worked.’

Suddenly, Donghyun spoke.

"Uh... This is strange..."

"What is it?"

Min-seo asked.

"Hyung hasn’t moved from his location for hours."

He pointed at a red marker on the digital map.

"Where is that?"

"France. More specifically, Paris... at the Presidential Palace. I have a really bad feeling about this..."

When Donghyun turned around to look at Min-seo—

She was already gone.

Only a few fading sparks of lightning remained.

"She left just like that... I hope she gets there in time... Something’s definitely wrong."

---

At the same time.

Back where Jinhoo was.

Jinhoo was completely overwhelmed.

The undead with supernatural abilities were impossible for him to defeat.

His body was sent flying before rolling across the ground.

He finally came to a stop face-down.

"Ugh... If only my powers weren’t restricted... I could fight them..."

He tried to stand.

Suddenly—

One of the superpowered undead landed on his back.

"Ugh!"

The undead activated its ability.

Its fists glowed with a crimson aura.

It began pounding Jinhoo’s shoulders with tremendous force.

"Ugh! Agh!! Stop!!"

At that exact moment—

Jinhoo’s eyes caught something.

The massive undead wielding the enormous greatsword had leaped into the air.

Its blade was coming straight for him.

If he didn’t dodge now—

He would die.

"Ugh! Get off me!!"

Jinhoo struggled violently until he finally threw the undead off his back.

The instant he was free—

He flipped backward acrobatically, narrowly avoiding the incoming strike.

Boom!

The giant undead slammed its greatsword into the ground.

The shockwave alone blasted Jinhoo away.

His body crashed into the wall of a nearby house.

Crack!

The wall fractured from the impact.

"Ugh... This is the worst situation I’ve ever been in..."

Suddenly—

His instincts screamed.

A crimson beam was racing toward him at terrifying speed.

Jinhoo attempted to teleport.

But nothing happened.

He immediately realized why.

His energy...

...was completely exhausted.

"Ugh! Damn it!!"

With no other option, he jumped off the damaged wall.

Even so—

The explosive shockwave from the crimson beam blasted him away again.

This time, he landed on the roof of a house.

"Ugh... I can’t beat them... Not when my powers are restricted like this... And on top of that... I’m completely out of energy."

Standing before him...

The three superpowered undead slowly advanced toward him.

’Damn it... Is this the end...? Am I... going to die here...?’

Just as despair began to consume him—

BOOM!!

A bolt of lightning crashed into the ground behind the three undead.

The lightning descended directly from the heavens.

Jinhoo looked up.

"Now what?"

he muttered irritably, assuming another enemy had arrived.

The brilliant blue lightning struck several ordinary undead.

Then it surged forward at incredible speed.

The bolt instantly wrapped around the three superpowered undead.

Their bodies froze in place.

"Huh?"

Jinhoo stared in confusion.

From the sky above—

Min-seo floated in midair.

Lightning danced around her outstretched hand as she controlled the storm itself.

"M-Min-seo!? What is she doing here!?"
