Chapter 475: Chapter 474: Divine Shadow

SWOOSH!!

The white phantom broke straight through the afterimages of the spear. Its illusory palm blurred, carrying a vibrational power of extreme intensity, and sent Qin Ya flying!

BAM...

Qin Ya crashed into a stone pillar once more. If he hadn’t just finished absorbing the power of the Holy Liquid, that palm strike would have, at the very least, broken several of his bones and made him cough up blood!

’This is a Divine Shadow left behind by a powerful expert. It has comprehended the Mysterious Speed, just like I have. Although we’re both at the Second Heaven, its application is far superior to mine.’ Qin Ya’s brow furrowed slightly. With a flicker of his body, he charged forward again.

A so-called Divine Shadow was a type of clone, similar to a Dharma Aspect, constructed by a supreme expert using their own Mysteries, True Essence, Divine Thought, and other powers. But unlike a Dharma Aspect, this kind of Divine Shadow only required a medium to exist in the world indefinitely. It was truly miraculous.

And to condense a Divine Shadow, one needed to be at least at the Venerable Level!

There were thirty-six Stone Steles in front of Qin Ya. That meant there were thirty-six figures, representing thirty-six Venerables! ’Tsk, this Saint really is incredible, managing to procure so many Divine Shadows for a trial!’

Putting the thought aside, Qin Ya focused all his energy on the white phantom. His long spear stabbed out repeatedly, unleashing a variety of exquisite spear techniques as smoothly as flowing water. However, while the phantom before him was roughly as fast as he was, its agility and control over its speed had both reached a pinnacle.

Every single one of its moves was executed without the slightest hesitation. A palm strike would advance precisely as far as it needed to, and its retreats wouldn’t be off by a single millimeter. There was no excess inertia from its immense speed. This exquisite mastery over velocity was simply demonic, making Qin Ya feel ashamed of his own inferiority. For a time, he found himself completely suppressed.

Admittedly, Qin Ya could have used his Four Symbols Mysteries, Mysteries of Destruction, or other techniques to claim victory, but he had no intention of doing so. He continued to fight using only the Mysterious Speed, because such a rare learning opportunity was not easy to come by. In the midst of the battle, a memory surged from his mind like a tide.

In a trance, the angles of Qin Ya’s spear thrusts became more profound, and his footwork transitions grew smoother. In an instant, his application of the Mysterious Speed had risen to a new level. He was stunned for a moment, then he had an epiphany. This memory was the reward he had received for clearing the first floor, and he was now putting it to use.

’So that’s how it is! The Mysterious Speed isn’t just about raw velocity. You also have to focus on reaction time, body coordination, vibration frequency, and so on. Heh, take this!’

’So this footwork can be used this way, too. Not bad.’

"Mysterious Technique... Extreme Stab!"

Suddenly, Qin Ya let out a cold cry, and Extreme Stab erupted. The black spear tip trembled, its frequency increasing until it caused the very void to vibrate, sending out ripples. A low hum, like sharpness honed to its absolute limit, suddenly burst forth, tearing through space as the spear stabbed toward the phantom!

BOOM! The phantom failed to dodge in time and was pierced straight through the right shoulder. It then transformed into a streak of white light and returned to its Stone Stele.

Qin Ya chuckled. "This battle was quite rewarding."

"Hmph. In a thousand years, very few have managed to pass this sixth floor. Did you really think it would be this easy?" a mysterious voice suddenly rang out.

Immediately, phantoms materialized from four more Stone Steles. Waves of mysterious fluctuations emanated from them: an aggressive, fierce, red Flame phantom; a volatile, tyrannical, purple Thunder phantom; a traceless, pale cyan Wind phantom; and a blue Frost phantom suffused with chilling air!

Four phantoms, representing four conventional Mysteries.

Their Cultivation was merely at the Half-Step King realm, but the fluctuations they emanated were infinitely close to the Third Heaven of True Intent. Moreover, each of them possessed masterful control over their respective Mystery, and each one’s combat power was equivalent to ten regular Half-Step Kings!

’I knew it wouldn’t be that simple.’

’Wind, Fire, Thunder, and Ice, huh? Heh. You’re not doing this on purpose, are you?’

Qin Ya gave a cold smile. He himself commanded the top-tier Four Symbols Mysteries, which gave him an inherent advantage against these four. With a flick of his long spear, he pointed it at his four opponents. "No matter what, you will all fall by my hand!"

As his words fell, he charged forward. The Four Symbols Mysteries erupted—Flame against Flame, Thunder against Thunder... A majestic energy gathered and then exploded outward. A violent gale swept through the hall, which flashed with magnificent, multicolored light.

After fighting for a while, Qin Ya had to admit that while the Mysteries of these Divine Shadows weren’t particularly powerful, their control over them was exceptionally skilled. They appeared to be fighting individually, but they supported one another, forming a strange formation that effectively pinned him down.

’In that case, I’ll have to use some real moves.’

Qin Ya took a deep breath. Ice, Fire, Thunder, and Wind flowed through his hands, forming a majestic Power of Nature. The aura it emitted suppressed the single-element Mysteries of the four phantoms. This was a Top Profound Mystery... the Four Symbols!

Upon seeing this, the four phantoms seemed to act with a tacit understanding, switching positions to align in the order of Thunder, Fire, Wind, and Ice. Then, endless Thunder surged forth, forming a gigantic Thunder Spear. Streams of Flame rose and intertwined with the Thunder, and finally, a piercing, cold wind carrying Frost swirled around the weapon!

The fact that these four phantoms could condense the Power of Nature in such a way couldn’t help but astonish Qin Ya. But he immediately let out a low shout, a terrifying glint flashing in his eyes. His True Essence erupted, and he blasted the Power of Nature in his hands forward!

BOOM! The massive Thunder Spear shot out in response.

With a thunderous explosion, brilliant colors bloomed in a dazzling display that illuminated the entire hall. A wave of energy powerful enough to severely injure a King swept out. Wherever it passed, the very void of the hall trembled, but it was immediately suppressed by an invisible, mighty force. After the light faded, the hall fell silent once more.

’So it can be used like that.’ Qin Ya’s brow furrowed. He looked at the four phantoms before him, a strange light flickering in his eyes as if he’d grasped something. But the sliver of inspiration was too vague, and it vanished in an instant.

’Forget it. I’ll deal with the problem at hand first.’

Qin Ya stood ready with his spear. His Mysterious Speed erupted, and he charged at the four Divine Shadows. With extreme velocity, he appeared before the Flame Divine Shadow in the blink of an eye and thrust his spear forward. CLANG! But his spear, Breaking Army, felt as if it had struck Profound Iron.

’This is...?’

Qin Ya’s pupils shrank. At some unknown point, eight more Divine Shadows had appeared before him. Each one radiated the Cultivation of a Half-Step King, and each possessed a different Mystery. The one currently blocking Breaking Army was a pitch-black Divine Shadow that exuded an indestructible Realm.

Counting them, and including the previous four Divine Shadows...

There were now a full twelve Divine Shadows before him!

’Don’t tell me I have to defeat all of them? Or if I beat these twelve, will the rest of the Divine Shadows come out too?’

"Hmph. Rest assured, defeat these twelve, and you may ascend to the seventh floor."
