Zeldryn stared at the invitation Kera had just thrown toward him.
He caught it somewhat awkwardly, then looked at the envelope again.
“Huh...!?”
Zeldryn still found it a little hard to believe.
So that really wasn't bullshit?
From the beginning, Zeldryn had never fully believed Kera when the man claimed to be from the main residence.
Especially after he suddenly started punching, kicking, and insulting him for no clear reason.
I thought that was just his excuse so he could beat me up.
Zeldryn looked at the letter in his hand.
Then his gaze shifted toward Kera's face.
“So who exactly are you?” Zeldryn asked.
Kera looked at him with a relaxed smile.
“Didn't I already tell you?”
Kera pointed at himself.
“I'm Kera. A Level 3 Manholer from the main residence.”
Zeldryn immediately frowned.
“Yeah, I know that, bastard.”
Kera raised one eyebrow.
Zeldryn continued.
“I mean, who are you really?”
He looked at Kera suspiciously.
“Why did you pretend to be some lunatic trying to kill me?”
“Beat me.”
“Kick me.”
“Insult me.”
Zeldryn paused.
“When all you really wanted was to make me use mana, right?”
Kera fell silent.
The smile on his face slowly widened.
“Hmm...”
He didn't answer immediately.
Then Kera simply said,
“Who knows?”
Zeldryn immediately became irritated.
“Bastard.”
Kera paid him no attention.
He turned toward the bedroom door.
But before walking away, Kera raised one hand again.
Mana gathered in front of him.
The dark void Zeldryn had seen earlier appeared once more.
Kera inserted his hand into the opening.
He rummaged around inside it for several moments.
Zeldryn, still sitting on the floor, watched him.
What now?

A few seconds later, Kera pulled his hand back out.
This time, he wasn't holding an envelope.
He was holding several sheets of paper.
At first, Zeldryn only glanced at them.
But a moment later...
His eyes widened slightly.
Wait.
Kera looked at the papers in his hand.
Then clicked his tongue.
“Tch.”
He raised one of the sheets.
“What the hell were you scribbling all over these papers?”
!!??
Zeldryn immediately stared at him.
Kera continued mockingly.
“I thought you were writing something useful.”
He looked at the sheet again.
“Turns out it's just a child's scribbles.”
Zeldryn froze.
Don't tell me...
Kera began walking toward the door.
As he walked, he casually raised one hand and turned his palm over.
“Well...”
Kera glanced back slightly.
“You are still a child.”
Zeldryn didn't even get the chance to respond to the insult.
His mind was still trying to understand something.
Kera then tossed the sheets of paper behind him.
The papers scattered through the air.
Several spun slowly before drifting toward the floor.
One of them floated directly toward Zeldryn.
Plap.
The sheet landed against his face.
“...”
Zeldryn pulled it away.
The moment he saw what was written on it...
!!??
His eyes widened.
This is...
He recognized the paper.
These were his notes.
The notes he had written last night.
They contained various things he had already thought about regarding his new life.
Plans for the future.
Things he needed to do.
Information he could still remember from Life Really Is Happy, Right?
And various other notes he had deliberately written down so he wouldn't forget them.
Zeldryn looked at the writing on the page.
Then he remembered what Kera had said.
Scribbles.
Zeldryn fell silent.
He called this scribbling?
It wasn't the contents of the notes that surprised him.
Quite the opposite.
Kera seemingly couldn't read the writing at all.
Zeldryn stared at his own handwriting.
So my guess was right?
This world really did have its own writing system.
The writing Reka had brought from his previous world looked like nothing more than meaningless scribbles to someone from this one.
Zeldryn began thinking further.
If their writing systems were different...
Wait.
He frowned.
Then what about the language?
Zeldryn could understand everything Hera said.
The guards.
The servants.
And now Kera.
He could also speak to all of them without any trouble.
Yet Kera couldn't read his writing.
Does this world actually have its own spoken language too?
His mind filled with questions again.
Was he actually speaking this world's language without realizing it?
Or was there something about Zeldryn's body that allowed him to understand the language automatically?
Then why didn't the same thing apply to writing?
Zeldryn sank deeper into thought.
Even now, he still hadn't bothered getting up from the floor.
Too much new information had entered his head within only a few minutes.
Meanwhile, Kera continued walking toward the door.
As though he couldn't care less that Zeldryn was experiencing a small crisis inside his own head.
When Kera was almost at the door, he stopped.
“We'll be seeing each other often from now on, Young Lord.”
Zeldryn immediately snapped out of his thoughts.
“Huh?”
Kera looked back with that strange smile.
“Oh, right.”
He seemed to suddenly remember something.
“I'll bring you a gift later too.”
Kera's smile widened.
“A gift for successfully becoming a candidate for Level 1 Manholer.”
!!??
Gift?
Zeldryn immediately looked at Kera suspiciously.
For some reason, when the word gift came out of this man's mouth, Zeldryn didn't feel excited in the slightest.
What kind of gift is this psychopath planning to bring me, damn it?
But a moment later...
Zeldryn realized something far more disturbing.
Wait.
He raised his head.
“Seeing each other often?”
Kera stopped.
Zeldryn frowned.
“What do you mean?”
Kera turned his head slightly toward Zeldryn.
“Oh, that?”
He answered so casually that it sounded completely unimportant.
“I'm staying here, idiot.”
Zeldryn fell silent.
Kera continued.
“I already have permission from the main residence.”
“...”
Zeldryn blinked.
Once.
Twice.
Then...
“HAH!!?? SERIOUSLY?!”
You've got to be kidding me.
Zeldryn stared at Kera in disbelief.
I have to live with this bastard?
He had only known the man for a few minutes, and Kera had already spent almost twenty minutes beating him.
He had been insulted.
Kicked.
Turned into the target of endless mockery.
And now that same man was saying he would be living in this mansion.
Reka's mental health felt slightly damaged just imagining it.
But after his irritation subsided a little, Zeldryn tried thinking about the situation more rationally.
He still didn't know who Kera truly was.
He didn't understand the man's real personality.
Even the exact reason Kera had been sent from the main residence was still unclear.
But at least one thing was beginning to become obvious.
Kera had no intention of killing him.
If he did, the man had already been given far too many opportunities.
And judging from what happened earlier...
Even if his methods were completely psychotic...
Kera really had been trying to teach him something.
Zeldryn fell silent as he thought about it.
Kera, now standing in front of the door, finally raised one hand.
“Well, that's that.”
Zeldryn immediately looked toward him.
“Huh? Wait, I still have a lot of questi...”
