Zeldryn was genuinely excited now. The hunger that had been bothering him just moments ago seemed to disappear, buried beneath a new possibility that kept circling through his mind. Even his heart was beating a little faster.
His gaze dropped to the plate on the table. Almost half of the food was still left, but after staring at it for a few seconds, Zeldryn immediately pushed the plate aside.
SCRAPE
He stood up while pushing the chair back, then walked toward the bed and sat on its edge. His hand slowly clenched into a fist as the corner of his lips began to rise.
'I feel like I'm going to see something really cool today...'
'Well, that's if it actually works, hahaha.'
"..."
Zeldryn focused his vision once again on the golden mana particles filling the room. He picked two that were nearby and brought both of them under his control.
The two particles began to move, and at first, Zeldryn intended to do the same thing as in his previous experiment. Cut away their outer parts, gather them together, then try the new concept he had just gotten from the water.
But...
The two particles suddenly stopped moving.
'Wait.'
Zeldryn's brows slowly furrowed.
'Mana particles aren't actually solid... but they're not liquid either.'
Zeldryn stared at the two particles for a little longer. He still remembered when he had tried making two mana particles collide directly. They didn't push each other away, break apart, or even stop.
They simply passed straight through each other.
"..."
'Hmm... what exactly is a mana particle?'
The two particles remained floating in front of him while his thoughts continued to run.
'I can control them, I can cut away their outer parts... I've even made one explode before.'
Zeldryn's hand slowly rose to his chin. The more he thought about it, the stranger mana seemed. He had already tried doing all sorts of things with it, yet even now, he still didn't really know what exactly he was controlling.

Several minutes passed while the two particles remained under his control.
Until suddenly...
Zeldryn's body froze.
A new thought had just crossed his mind.
'Wait... is it possible for me to change the form or properties of a mana particle however I want?'
His eyes narrowed slightly.
'Then let's start with something small.'
Zeldryn released one particle and kept only the other under his control. His gaze shifted toward the chair he had left near the table, then he slowly moved the particle toward its backrest.
Closer...
Until it finally touched the wooden surface.
And just as Zeldryn expected, the particle passed straight through the backrest and emerged from the other side without the slightest resistance.
"..."
Zeldryn raised an eyebrow slightly. It wasn't particularly surprising, since that was how mana particles had always behaved from what he'd seen. Wood, walls, or other objects didn't really obstruct them.
But because of that...
'What if I think of this mana particle as something solid?'
The particle that had passed through the chair was still under his control. Zeldryn reversed its direction and slowly guided it back toward the backrest from the other side.
As he continued moving it, he planted a single image firmly in his mind.
Solid.
Something with a physical form.
"..."
The particle moved closer, touched the front of the chair...
And passed straight through again.
Zeldryn remained silent for a few seconds before finally letting out a long breath.
'Yeah, of course... there's no way it'd be that easy, shit.'
The particle continued moving until it emerged from the back of the chair again. Zeldryn stared at it with a hint of disappointment, but before long, his brows furrowed once more.
'Wait.'
Something had been missing from that attempt.
'I only imagined the mana being solid... but I didn't imagine what would happen if something solid hit the chair.'
"..."
The look in Zeldryn's eyes changed again.
He was still controlling the particle that had already passed behind the chair, so this time he immediately guided it back toward the wood.
Slowly...
Closer...
But this time, Zeldryn didn't just imagine the mana particle as something solid. He added one more thing to the image in his mind.
If something solid touched another solid object, they shouldn't pass through each other.
They would collide.
"..."
The particle continued moving toward the chair. The distance between them grew smaller until only a few millimeters remained.
Then...
Zeldryn suddenly went still.
The mana particle stopped right at the surface of the backrest.
It didn't pass through.
It didn't appear on the other side.
It really stopped there.
"..."
Zeldryn's gaze immediately locked onto that point.
'This isn't some hallucination, right?'
He leaned forward slightly.
'Or did the particle just stop right before touching the chair?'
Zeldryn tried pushing the particle again, this time a little harder. But the particle still refused to pass through the backrest, so he gradually increased the force.
KRRIT
A faint sound suddenly came from the chair.
'Huh?!'
Zeldryn immediately stopped, his gaze shifting from the mana particle to the chair. At first he couldn't tell what had changed, but after looking for a moment, his eyes moved down toward the bottom of the chair.
"..."
The chair had moved.
Not by much, probably less than a centimeter, but Zeldryn was certain it hadn't been in that exact position before.
Zeldryn's eyes slowly widened.
'The chair really moved?'
