“In the name of the goddess, a demon who betrays God needs to be punished.”

“Hey...” Josiah said in a low voice, no longer willing to listen to the nonsense. However, just as she was about to lose her temper further, black thorns burst from beneath her feet and ensnared her.

“Who said you could talk? You’re just a filthy demon.”

“Based on what I’ve seen, I can’t tell who’s the real demon. In fact, even demons wouldn't do what you're doing.” Davey stared directly at the First Apostle.

“Since it's come to this, I have no choice but to start over fresh with you two. You seem to be teacher and student, am I right?”

He slowly walked over. “I wonder how much resentment would build up if a teacher and student fought each other to the death. I bet you’re wondering, too.”

He put on a chilling expression and raised a hand. Then, a white light-figure with a massive scythe appeared behind him.

“Don't blame me. Ah, but since the teacher might have the upper hand, maybe I can cut off one of your arms, right?”

Huh. Who said you could do that?”

He smiled widely in response. “Who? It is by my will. I received the power of the goddess, after all.”

He waved his hand. At the same time, the white light-figure behind him swung the massive scythe.

It wasn't simple physical force or divine power. If anyone made contact with that figure, they probably wouldn't end well.

However...

Crack.

The figure stopped before it could reach Davey. It looked scared, and even began trembling fearfully.

The First Apostle couldn't understand what’d happened. “Huh?

“By your will? You're a crazy bastard whose arrogance has gone too far,” Davey spat out.

Annoyed at how the white figure couldn’t attack Davey, the man instead waved his hand and dispersed it before saying, “So you managed to obtain remnants of the goddess's power? That power can't kill a being who possesses the same power.”

It seemed he hadn't properly noticed the figure's reaction when it’d tried to attack Davey.

“Let me ask you one thing,” the First Apostle continued. “Hey! You.”

Boom!!!

He stamped his foot irritably, making the ground shake.

Davey could feel the pressure.

“Who gave you permission to ask questions here?”

Davey let out an exasperated laugh. “Save your shit, dude. How about you tell me why a guy called the Goddess's First Apostle is doing something like this?”

“What? You withstood this, too? You're quite something. I don’t even want to kill you anymore! Hey, you should come work for me.”

“Answer me,” Davey demanded. “Why are you making this? I’ll decide after hearing your answer.”

That egg was a dragon race egg.

He probably tried to create an evil dragon by feeding it humans made through gu poison.

“Because the goddess wants entertainment.”

“Entertainment?”

“She demands periodic duels among us apostles. However, I’m a special case, so my power isn't as strong as the other apostles.”

“So?”

“So, I’m creating a familiar to assist me in battle. Most humans wouldn't even know something like this exists, but we're great beings who've transcended humanity.”

In other words, he was creating the monster to defeat the other apostles because he lacked power. Ultimately, that meant this space was made to lure Davey, not for the necrotic area,

“Creating a familiar requires intense obsession. Particularly, the obsession of useful humans like you.”

He spread both hands. “When this is complete, I can trample the other first apostles and get closest to the goddess. I can also gain more power. So, how about it? If you serve me, I can share some of that power's grace with you.”

“So the goddess ordered this?”

To be exact, the goddess was just a crazy person who enjoyed watching the apostles fight each other.

Although the process might’ve been warped, Davey felt one thing to be certain.

The dimension didn't seem worth saving.

His resolve to find and fix the necrotic area disappeared altogether. He called out, “Josiah.”

“Yes?”

“How long are you gonna keep messing around? Break out already.”

She pouted slightly, then suddenly shattered the black restraint with sheer force.

Hmm?

“Red Ribbon, Blue Ribbon. Daddy’s sorry, but we’ll have to eat the lunch box later.” He turned to Josiah, continuing to say, “And hey, I’ve made my decision.”

Hoo. Alright. It’s either ride or die. I recommend you to follow—I actually like you.”

Davey slowly reached his hand out toward the man.

Ssss.

He quickly forcibly took away the goddess's divine power flowing throughout the First Apostle’s body.

While he knew it would expose his presence to the dimension, he couldn’t care less whether such a deplorable kind of dimension rotted away or not.

Gaaah? W-what?!” Realizing that he was losing a large amount of the goddess's power, the First Apostle hastily summoned the white figure again and commanded, “Kill him!!!”

Yet, the figure didn't respond. In fact, it aimed its massive scythe of light at the man instead.

“W-what... Why're you doing this?!”

“Why? Probably because my control over the power is higher than yours.” Davey had deliberately held back from using his divine power because there was a possibility the dimension would expel him.

Once he truly decided to use it, it was only natural for his control to be more efficient than some measly apostle's.

Heek!!!

Having his power stolen, the First Apostle hastily tried to attack Davey.

Josiah snapped her fingers while yawning, and his body was completely crushed.

Arghhhh!

He was strong because he had received the goddess's power, so once Davey confiscated that power, he had very little strength left.

“Should I kill him?” Josiah asked.

“Leave him be.” Davey waved his hand.

Then, the white figure raised the scythe of light high, as if unleashing its anger toward the first apostle who had used it all this time.

He screamed in terror, demanding Davey to identify himself, “You... Who the hell are you... Who are you?!!!”

The power he was so confident in didn't work at all. It was even stolen!

Davey smiled widely and answered him, “The demon, you bastard.”

Slash!

The scythe ruthlessly bisected him.

Once the deed was done, Davey captured the soul escaping from his body before it could ascend to the cycle of reincarnation. He forcibly detained and twisted it.

While it was difficult to safely store a soul like Aeria could, since it wasn't an extreme case like Empress Redimia, that didn't matter.

Clutching the silently screaming soul, Davey sensed the flow of the dimension. Separate from the goddess, the dimension itself was trying to reject his presence and expel him.

“Teacher, what do we do now?”

“Let's get out of here.”

Davey, who had been trying to save the dimension by resolving the necrotic area, eventually gave up. There was no reason to stay in this dimension anymore.

Whether the dimension realized it or not, it began using all of its power to reject the superior existence that was Davey. Since he didn't resist, it directly expelled his and Josiah's souls to the outside.

Davey slowly disconnected the device and opened his eyes, and Illyna put on a curious expression. “What? It's only been half a day since you went in. You're already out?”

‘Have they been waiting all this time?’

“Willow,” he called out.

“Yes?”

He tossed her the soul, saying, “Chuck this into hell.”

“I feel remnants of divine power... Could it be... an apostle-level divinity was created in that dimension?”

She must've been referring to the goddess in there.

“Nah. It's an actual apostle bastard.”

“What about the necrotic area?”

“Forget it. Let’s give up on this dimension. Let it rot away and perish, for all I care.”

She hesitated to agree. “Wait, really? That's a little...”

“This isn't the only dimension that’s rotting away. I’ll take Kouna and solve the others first.”

Willow looked surprised, but didn't argue with his decision. Just as Davey said, there were many other dimensions in a serious state besides the one he had just come out of.

* * *

There was a young divinity created by the world Davey called the necrotic dimension.

The goddess walked with dignity in white clothes, as if she wouldn't allow any intrusion of filth. In front of her lay a man, his remains a fragmented corpse.

“I treated the First Apostle as my alter ego...” Those who watched trembled at her quiet murmur.

What kind of madman would dare oppose the absolute being, the omnipotent god of their world?

Were the perpetrators outsiders? Demons from beyond? Surely not even they could compare to their absolute goddess.

“Goddess, your humble servant begs to tell you that the demon from the outside is a traitor who dares to doubt your holiness.”

She gave no response

“Show us your power and punish them personally!”

Starting with one man, those who feared the Goddess's wrath desperately tried to turn her anger in another direction.

If the followers messed up, they knew her anger could spread across the entire land.

Though he had been the lowest ranked in power, the First Apostle had reached his position because he found favor with the Goddess. He had boasted to the Goddess for a long time that he’d show her something interesting, only to ultimately be murdered by a ruffian.

The Goddess smiled coldly, looking at the man who had been ripped out soul and all, beyond the ability to be resurrected. “Yes... I’ll have to show them what happens when they ignore an absolute god's oracle. Did you find where they came from?”

“Yes, but... it looks like they genuinely came from the outside.”

The goddess muttered, “The outside...”

It was the first time an external being had truly come, but it didn't matter. She never doubted that she was the absolute monotheistic God. That was the damage caused by the dimension that had grown arrogant and created its own goddess.

Majestically fluttering her divine will and finding a trace on the First Apostle’s corpse, she immediately waved her hand and tore the space open.

Unbeknownst to both her and the dimension itself, the action drastically reduced the dimension's lifespan.

She transmitted her voice across the connected dimension.

[The One True God has personally arrived. All humble beings in this world, listen. I will punish those who betrayed me before this absolute brilliance.]

Announcing that the time for punishment and retribution had begun, she led the countless forces for her holy war alongside the other apostles.

The symbols of her power began to cross the dimension.

Her actions astonished even Solomonia, who managed the dimension.

Willow, who noticed the anomaly in Tionis—where the Goddess dared to invade—let out a chilling smile. “This bitch thinks she's the One True God? She's got a lotta nerve, barging in here like this.”

When her father, Davey, said to give up on that dimension, she’d wondered if that was really necessary, but it didn't take long for her to resolve her mind and agree with his decision.

Thus, the goddess of the necrotic dimension unknowingly shoved her head inside a lion’s mouth. She herself didn't know it, and began to commit even crazier acts.

As soon as she crossed the dimension, the first thing the goddess felt was a world full of vitality.

Hooh. This world is full of vitality! Is it because of that moon? I like it.”

“Goddess, everyone is standing by for your orders.”

“Yes, yes. I like that moon and this world. I’ll take it all.” Having made her decision, she tried to completely connect and interfere with the dimension.

Though it wasn't her dimension, she never doubted that she was the One True God.

‘I’ll first take away the light from the sky.’

Just as she was thinking that, a woman with blue hair and an expressionless face appeared before her. To the goddess, she looked nothing more than a pathetic apostle.

“Are you the apostle guarding this dimension? How dare you not bow to me?!”

The woman quietly kept silent and closed her eyes.

The goddess scoffed and remarked, “You don't even have a body, yet you're trying to stop me? How insolent. Get lost! You'll pay the price for your audacity.”

The woman quietly held up a tablet.

[Go back.]

The fledgling goddess snorted and waved her hand, slashing at the blue-haired woman. Her body was apparently scattered by the blow.

“How dare a mere apostle try to command me? I am the omniscient and omnipotent One True God!”

She didn't know who the woman who'd just tried to talk her down was.

The heroes in the sanctuary who were watching, as well as Neltarid who was observing the situation from his own sanctuary, could only stare in stunned disbelief.

“That... that crazy bitch...”

That was literally all they could say.
