The massive light vanished in an instant.

Neither Davey nor his future self with the mask bothered to speak up. They just sat still in silence like statues and waited.

Eventually, the original Davey said, “This happened before, right? And I won’t see you again, will I?”

“You shouldn’t,” his future self answered.

“Yeah. It’s probably for the best, because nothing good comes from being connected to you.”

Silence fell once more.

‘I don’t think I’ve ever been in a deep silence like this before...’

Uncomfortably basking in that suffocating feeling, they both waited with their eyes closed, not saying a word.

Willow had shattered Doomsday with her power.

Though a portion of it remained after the trio’s assault, it had been weakened enough for Davey to easily take care of. In order to take it down without him, the Willow of the other timeline must have sacrificed herself to protect everyone, including Darian.

Soon, the future Davey lightly launched himself toward where they were, snatching the scruffs of Evangeline and Darian who had been holding the stunned Willow tight for ages, not letting go. He then dragged the two away somewhere, treating them like a couple of burlap sacks.

Evangline shouted in surprise while being dragged along, “Ah! Dad?!”

“Time to go.”

“Already?!”

“Yep,” he said in a rather calm voice.

Evangeline looked like she had plenty to complain about, but in the end, she simply nodded and turned to say, “Willow... we’ll get going now.”

“Stay healthy, Sister.”

The words were warm, but the sight of them being dragged by their father really killed the wholesome and heartfelt vibe.

That was when it happened.

Willow, who had been sitting blankly, shouted, “Dad!!”

He stopped walking. “You’re... my dad, right?”

He responded with silence instead of an answer.

“I’m... I’m so sorry,” she quietly said, tears in her eyes. “I...”

Back still turned, he slowly called out, “Willow.”

Huh?

Seemingly calm, but with a hint of coldness in his tone, he continued, “Don’t you ever do something like that again.”

Willow lowered her head sadly.

“Living is the greatest thing a daughter can do for her parents.”

She didn't know what to say.

“Thanks for being alive.”

Ah...

Having said his piece, he headed toward a wide-open area. Then, instead of using the hands holding Darian and Evangeline, he raised one foot and kicked the air.

Crack!!

Space immediately shattered, and a rift opened up. Since the space-time axis was twisted, beyond that rift was likely a passage leading to their original timeline.

“Dad!!” Willow began before finally shooting up to shout, “Thank you, Dad!”

He didn't know how to respond.

“And Eva and Darian too! Ummm...”

Knowing how futile it’d be to say she’d see them again, Willow didn’t say it. Instead, tears welled up in her eyes.

Sob...

Evangline and Darian locked gazes. They then both slipped out of future Davey’s grip and quickly ran to Willow, hugging her tight once more.

He silently watched the three cry, and one of the two finally offered, “We’ll go! But a short break before is okay, isn’t it?”

Ugh. Fine, go ahead...” Though he put on an exasperated air, he actually wanted to stay by Willow’s side most of all.

In the end, Evangeline and Darian successfully returned to their own timeline.

Since they had lured Doomsday in to enter in the first place, going back wasn’t a problem. Even if there had been a problem, with Davey around, it was a pointless worry.

“I wonder if Darian was treated well,” Willow wondered aloud.

Davey nonchalantly answered, “He probably was.”

She looked around at the collapsing world with teary eyes. “I probably won’t forget it for the rest of my life.”

“Remember it forever. And don’t ever have such dangerous thoughts again,” he solemnly told her.

Even though it had ultimately been prevented, if Solomonia hadn’t stopped her, Willow would’ve made the same mistake.

“Don’t drive a nail into your dad’s heart,” he said as he gave her a playful noogie.

When he turned and walked away, Willow angrily clutched her head and glared at him.

Then, she chuckled, quickly ran over, and wrapped her arms around him. “Hey Dad, if I die, will you cry a lot?”

He walked on in silence, then nodded. “Yeah. I’ll cry buckets.”

Hehe. Then I definitely won’t.” She smiled brightly, as if nothing had happened.

Three weeks passed, and the twisted gears eventually found their original places.

In the red world where Solomonia had once been, the next guardian chosen by Goddess Freyja appeared, and the world drifted away from Tionis.

Of course, the forest he brought with him had already transformed into a land with a completely different ecosystem, so there was no chance of restoring it to what it had been before.

It wasn't long before the news came out that the Gourmet Research Society was preparing for an official expedition to that territory.

All the problematic potentials within Darian had been sorted out, and the remaining potentials weren’t making any moves, seemingly trying to safely protect Darian, the main body. It was as if they were aware that even their movement was a burden to the young Darian.

On top of everything, the remaining pillar Kouna had restored hadn't stored enough power to operate yet.

“So, Senior, what does that have to do with this?” Neltarid Mk II asked the figure next to him.

Willow glared at the two computers in Evangeline’s lair and replied, “I haven’t been able to play properly. Don’t worry, though. Even if being down here is a burden on you, that's a price I'm willing to pay.”

“I can’t believe I have you as a senior... I feel bad for myself,” he lamented.

“What’d you say? Ah, whatever. A little while should be fine. It’s just an avatar, anyways. If it actually becomes a problem, I’ll lend you some power. As long as it doesn’t exert a large influence, playing around in this lair for a bit is no sweat.”

“...Understood.” Saying that, he sat down in front of a computer.

“Alright, Neltarid. This is called a mouse, and this is how you click it.”

He waved her off. “No, it’s fine. I know all that already.”

“Then we’re good.”

Willow stepped back coolly, sat on a chair next to him, and turned on the computer with her toe in a streamlined and experienced maneuver.

“But, Senior,” Neltarid Mk II began.

“What?”

Playing around with the computer with a straight posture unlike Willow’s, he cleared his throat, then asked, “Did you tell Evangeline if we can use her place?”

“This place is huge! She’s streaming right now, so she probably doesn’t even know what’s going on.”

Willow then looked down at her usual flowing clothes and frowned. “Let's change into something more comfortable. Those clothes you have on are way too eye-catching. Put this on instead.” Willow snapped her fingers, and before he knew it, he was holding onto a pair of flying squirrel pajamas.

He gave a shiver before finally managing to say, “Absolutely... not.”

“Oh yeah? Oh well, then. But it’s no fun just playing, so let’s make a bet. The loser gets the right to order the other around once.”

Neltarid gave her a look full of suspicion but soon nodded. “Sure...”

Willow was much more cheerful than he had expected. The Darian incident had only just happened, and the Kouna situation wasn’t even fully resolved yet.

“Well, it’s not a problem for you to worry about, I guess,” he muttered before remarking, “So? What are we gonna do? Also, we have virtual reality, so why use a basic computer like this?”

“I don’t want to look at virtual reality for a while. Besides, a lot of people still play games outside of VR. It’ll probably be a few more months until it’s caught on globally.”

Neltarid nodded at her explanation. “Sure, whatever you want.”

“We’ll start with this, then. How about we each earn a free command for every point? I’m going to save them up and use them all at once!”

“Me too.”

What Willow suggested was none other than a fighting game.

Before it started, she gave an eerie laugh and reminded him, “You promised you'd do whatever I asked if you lost.”

Seeing the mischief and confidence in her eyes, Neltarid began to suspect he’d fallen into a trap.

Evangeline was streaming as usual. As always, she started by drawing, then switched over to chat with Moderation when he messaged her, and the two of them played games together.

“Great job, Moderation.”

Super Ribbon had gone back to school, and Willow had returned to the sanctuary, so there weren’t many people to hang out with.

Plus, a big banquet and multiple festivals were scheduled one after another in Tionis soon, so she’d regret it if she didn’t play enough before becoming all busy then.

[Boss, didn’t you say you were making a play room before?]

Ah, the playroom! Right? Even though it’s a lair, I don’t stay cooped up here every day.”

Evangeline stood up with a thoughtful look and dusted off her shorts.

[Not a skirt, but shorts! A heretic!!]

“Deplorable.”

[Constellation Sagittarius has been banned.]

“Seriously, it seems like that guy is always there regardless...”

[Hahaha the two chairmen and their lame jokes are the real fun of this stream KEKW]

Casual friendly banter aside, a considerable number of viewers already knew that the beings with the usernames Constellation Sagittarius and Leo weren’t ordinary humans. They were clearly personal friends of Evangeline’s family, and regular guests to the stream’s chat.

Therefore, Evangeline forcibly kicking them out was just a daily occurrence.

“Since someone already brought it up, I may as well actually show you the playroom. I’ll be honest, my manager helped me decorate it. I put a ton of arcade machines and game consoles in there too. Where was it...”

When she stepped into the hallway, the viewers gasped in admiration. It was wide on a brobdingnagian scale.

[But Boss, don’t you get lonely living there all alone? It looks super isolating.]

“That’s why I don’t stay here much,” she answered. “A house that’s bustling and never has a quiet day is much better.”

Even though Evangeline was strongly attached to her lair, she was very fond of company, so being alone in such a quiet place wasn’t entirely her preference.

“But sometimes when I get a headache, I come and stay here. Being quiet has its advantages.” She soon reached the playroom she had painstakingly created. “Ah, here we are!”

She put her hand on the doorknob, which looked twice her size.

Creak.

The stream saw the inside of the room at the same time she did. The viewers had been eagerly waiting to see the playroom she had worked so hard to build up hype for, but what greeted them instead was...

Cock-A-Doodle-Doo!!!” Neltarid, wearing a flying squirrel costume, flapping his arms and making a chicken noise, and...

“Magical Girl Willow, here to save the day!” They saw Willow, face bright red, striking a flamboyant pose in a cute little dress.

A splendid transformation effect, befitting a goddess, enveloped her. It then quietly vanished as soon as she realized the door had swung open.

Evangeline stared at the two with empty eyes. Startled by the sudden entrance, the two gods, who had been making complete fools of themselves, simultaneously turned their heads to look at her and froze.

Clank.

Willow dropped the children’s magic wand in her hand, clearly devastated.

[???]

[Goddess?]

[IS THAT WILLOW LMAO]

[Wtf is she doing there bro (T_T)]

[Woah im hella dizzy seeing them spin so fast]

[What the hell. Why are they doing that...]

The chat was quickly flooded with question marks, and the quiet silence intensified.

Willow finally broke it to say, “Ummmm... Sis? What the fu— I mean, when did you get here?”

Evangeline was even more flustered, having been unaware that they were in her own lair.

“Why the heck are you two dressed like that?”

When her focus turned to Neltarid, his face turned the color of dirt.

He slowly folded his arms, plopped down, and spoke in a voice filled with self-loathing, “My... my followers are going to see it now.”

Meanwhile, Willow frantically looked around with a beet-red face, then teleported beneath a blanket and pulled it tightly over herself.

Spending a good few moments staring blankly at the absurd scene unfolding before her, Evangeline eventually muttered, “What’s with that reaction? No one told you to stop playing.”

The Goddess of Harmony and the God of Tranquility remained silent, unable to say a word.

[LMAO CLIP IT AND SHIP IT BOIS!! LIVESTREAMMAILS HEAR WE COME!!!!]

[Magical Girl Willow lmaoooo]

[LOLOLS]

The viewers were the most excited. Evangeline hammered the final nail into the coffin for their pathetic display by saying, “Since this happened, let’s bring in these two guests and continue the stream...”

She instinctively transitioned into content mode, farming interactions for her channel.
