But Grand Mages were different.
Because becoming Tier Seven or higher required not just the right meditation technique, but also the corresponding physical fortitude. If one’s cellular quality was insufficient, they couldn’t become a Grand Mage even if they mastered a meditation method with Great Mage Level efficiency. The cultivation of Magic Power was like a multiplication equation; the body and meditation were both indispensable factors.
"Let’s hold on a minute," Sean said, his head aching.
The original problem was still unsolved, and now a new one had cropped up.
There were too many strange things about this "New World."
Or rather, there were too many strange things about the *Fallen Nether Technique*. He had no idea what he and those Mystic Scholars were thinking at the time, or what exactly they had changed from the original *Netherworld Technique*.
Most importantly, they couldn’t forget their reason for coming to the New World.
They were here to find Alola Town.
Even if the map of the "New World" didn’t show Alola Town or Siracle State, they still had to go and confirm it for themselves. This was crucial; it directly related to whether the Holy Temple Ruins existed in reality, and whether the Real World and the "New World" were one and the same.
"Why don’t we split up?" Sean said after thinking for a while.
Elvire didn’t understand. "Why split up?"
’Isn’t it better if we all stick together?’
Sean said teasingly, "What, you’ll miss me?"
Elvire: "?"
"Don’t be so full of yourself."
She scoffed. "I’m just worried you’ll get yourself killed on the road and slow everyone down."
The new-yet-old map in their hands suggested that the "New World’s" timeline was likely still in the Era of Polymath. If that was true, this place was fraught with danger for them; they could lose their lives at any moment.
After all, the Era of Polymath was teeming with Grand Mages far beyond their reach, whom they stood no chance against.
A single Viscount Robes had already left them completely helpless. Against a stronger enemy, they might not even have time to log off to save themselves.
"What’s there to be afraid of? Worst case, I’ll just make a new character," Sean said nonchalantly.
Bringing a Witch along was the smartest thing we did. A little mental trauma? Just down a Magic Potion, lie down for half a day at most, and you’re good as new. After a few hours, you’re back on your feet.
"Besides, you all have your own things you want to do, don’t you?" Sean said.
The others exchanged glances, all of them falling silent.
Though they didn’t say it, Sean could tell.
Elvire wanted to go to the Blazing Angel Family to find her older sister, Daeli.
Kate, on the other hand, had mentioned several ancient family names. These included the families of Yisha and Lante from their past lives, and perhaps his own family or his teacher Adelf’s. He wanted to go see them.
Sopea was the best at hiding their emotions, but no matter how well they were hidden, their logic was a dead giveaway.
After several hundred years, they, the Reshapers, finally had a chance to return to the Era of Polymath. Who wouldn’t want to go home for a visit?
Sean felt the same way.
The Hall of Truth was just where he "worked," not his home.
"If you want to go, then go," Sean said with a smile. "We can meet up offline in a few days."
Elvire hesitated. "Will you really be okay on your own?"
Among the four of them, Sean had the lowest Magic Power—only Tier Three.
In the Era of Polymath, that level of power wasn’t even enough to deal with a minor, untitled family.
This era was called "Polymath" precisely because everyone had the chance to become a Scholar, and knowledge was power. The ratio of Wizards to ordinary people once reached 0.6:1, so it was no exaggeration to say magic was everywhere. Mysticism was no secret in the eyes of ordinary people; many schools even included it in their curriculum.
"Don’t worry, I’m not as fragile as you think," Sean said. "Don’t forget, even Klintor was no match for me."
"That’s true." Elvire recalled Sean’s strange and bizarre magic.
’They all felt so familiar to her, so her sister must be familiar with them too. If she could see her sister on this trip home, it would be the perfect chance to ask and find out who this guy really is.’
"Okay, since we’ve decided, let’s not waste any time."
Kate wasn’t a melodramatic person. Shedding his usual domineering CEO vibe, he gave everyone a classic martial artist’s salute and said seriously, "Everyone, take care of yourselves."
With that, he turned to leave.
Sean: "Wait, where are you going?"
Kate: "To catch a plane, of course."
Sean: "You’re going to get on a plane without an ID?"
Kate: "..."
’Oh, right. I forgot we still have to sort out our identities.’
So he walked back, expressionless, and said, "Then let’s get some identification first."
Fake identification, of course.
When it came to forging identification, everyone present was an expert—everyone except Sean.
Even though they lacked their Real World connections and financial resources in the "New World," they knew just what kind of places to go and what kind of people to find.
Every era had people who did this kind of work, and the Era of Polymath was no exception.
It only took them a day to get their hands on four brand-new ID cards.
They couldn’t go to more sensitive places, like a police station, as their cover would be easily blown.
Because the occupation listed on their new IDs was "Police Officer."
But for something like catching a plane, it wasn’t a problem.
"Take care!"
The next day, the group returned to the airport. Kate said it again, then turned and entered the boarding gate.
The flight for Sean and the other two was a bit later, but not by much.
The Day of Abstinence was drawing to a close, and it was the peak period for return travel. Flights to all destinations were much more frequent than usual, and soon it was Elvire’s turn.
Selona City was a long way from the Medanzo Flame Territory. The flight would take a day and a half, including a layover.
Before leaving, the young woman couldn’t help but remind Sean one last time, "Take good care of yourself."
