The Most Arbitrary Wizard

Chapter 209 - 119: "He’s Very Handsome

"No way, are you serious?"

"Of course. How could I joke about something this exciting?"

"Okay, I admit, the idea of pulling it off in plain sight is tempting, but the problem is..."

Kave said, "How do we get in?"

The ball required an invitation. Today was the last day, so they’d all been sent out already. Even if they could perfectly disguise themselves as nobles, it was too late to ask the Little Gista Family for one now.

"You don’t have to worry about that. Leave it to me," Sean said meaningfully. "There’s a certain type of person who can get in without an invitation."

Forget about just a ball—if they revealed their status, there was nowhere they couldn’t go.

"What do you mean?" Tony looked at Sean with extreme skepticism. "You have ’status’?"

"Looking down on me?" Sean snorted. "I don’t just have status. If I told you what it was, it’d blow your mind."

"Oh, give me a break." Tony pursed his lips. "A guy like you? A measly Tier Three. Besides being decent-looking, what part of you screams ’high status’?"

Johnson also asked suspiciously, "You’re not planning on mugging someone for theirs, are you?"

"I wish," Sean said, pressing his lips together. "But like Tony said, I’m just a Tier Three rookie. I couldn’t win a fight if I tried."

"So what’s your plan?" Ryan asked, not understanding.

Without an invitation, how could the Little Gista Family possibly let them in?

"You don’t need to worry about that. I have a way. When the time comes, just follow me," Sean said.

"As for tomorrow’s schedule..."

"Let’s just have a free day."

Sean said, "We rarely get a chance to go out like this. I think taking a day to have some fun is perfectly reasonable, don’t you?"

Everyone was silent.

It was reasonable, and they did want to relax. After all, they would be in Elderidge soon. Once the assassination mission officially began, they might not get another chance to enjoy life.

But...

"Are you sure there won’t be a problem?" Eleanor asked, a little worried.

She couldn’t tell if Sean was just trying to save face and acting tough, or if he really had a way to get them all into the ball.

"Don’t worry." Sean patted the young woman’s shoulder and said, "I never do things I’m not sure about."

"Alright." Seeing him so confident, Eleanor could only choose to trust him for now.

"So, we’ll leave it at that for now?" Sean picked up his glass and clinked it against the others’. He glanced at the crowd dancing happily on the dance floor and said, "I’m not really used to this kind of environment. It’s so loud it’s making my head spin. If there’s nothing else, I’m going to head back first, okay?"

Hearing this, Eleanor stood up as well, grabbing her bag from her seat. "I’ll go with you."

She didn’t like bars either.

They had chosen to meet here purely because it was crowded, making it harder to be followed.

"Sure," Tony said. "You two head back. We’ll hang out a bit longer before we go."

As he spoke, he gave Sean a strange look. ’A guy who doesn’t like bars? Why do I get the feeling he’s just making an excuse to leave and go on a date with Eleanor?’

It had to be said, Tony’s mind worked pretty fast.

Sean was indeed making an excuse to leave, but it wasn’t to go on a date with Eleanor.

He needed a quiet place to call in some favors.

On the way, Eleanor wavered, opening her mouth to speak several times before stopping herself. Finally, she couldn’t hold it in any longer and said to Sean, "If you need any help, you can tell me."

She could understand a guy’s desire to show off—girls were sometimes like that too—so she phrased her words tactfully, not directly stating her disbelief.

Only then did Sean realize this young woman had pretty high emotional intelligence, but he really didn’t need any help.

It was true he was only a Tier Three. Even if he used his Forbidden Power, he most likely couldn’t beat a Tier Six—the gap was too wide. But as the saying goes... the world of Wizards isn’t just about Magic Power; it’s also about connections and social etiquette.

Often, Magic Power wasn’t the only solution to a problem.

"You just go get a good night’s sleep. Tomorrow, relax and have some fun, or Meditate if you feel like it. The day after tomorrow, dress up nicely. We can’t bring shame to Blake City," Sean said.

If Kate were here, she would have seen right through this guy’s little scheme in an instant. It wasn’t about not bringing shame to Blake City; it was about him wanting a beautiful date.

Eleanor, however, was completely oblivious to Sean’s ulterior motives. Instead, his overflowing confidence made her start to doubt herself. ’Am I overthinking this? Is Sean really someone with high status?’

In reality, he wasn’t. And even if he were, he couldn’t say. His identity as Carl Black was unusable. If he used it, he’d get into the ball but never get out. Right now, he was the equivalent of a "blank slate," possessing no so-called noble status.

But what did that matter?

He might not have status, but his sister-in-law did!

Elvire’s status was his status.

The Blazing Angel Family was a Duke Family, a rank higher than a regular Duke Family. For a family of their stature to attend a ball hosted by a mere Baron Family in Old Mundo City was a great honor to the hosts. Would the Little Gista Family stop him? Would they *dare* to stop him?

Not a chance.

So, as soon as he got back to the hotel, Sean used the excuse of being sleepy and returned to his bedroom to "sleep."

Then he sat on his bed, pulled out his phone, and called Elvire.

The phone only rang twice before Elvire quickly picked up.

Before Sean could even speak, he heard the young woman’s familiar, melodious voice, though it was full of resentment.

"So you still know how to call me?"

"Ahem." Sean coughed lightly and explained, "I’ve been busy the last few days."

Elvire: "Busy with what? Busy going on dates with other girls?"

Sean: "..."

’Is this a woman’s intuition?’

Although he wasn’t actually dating anyone, there was indeed a pretty girl on his team.
