The Most Arbitrary Wizard

Chapter 303 153: "Lady of the House

Thankfully, the sisters didn't call him Mr. Blake.

"What did Diana have you come here to do?" he asked.

Elise answered, "To protect our Master."

Eleanor then went on to briefly explain the situation to Sean.

She might have left out some details, but every word was true.

Sean, however, didn't believe it. "That's it?"

Eleanor froze for a moment. "Is that not enough?"

'Her Highness the Saintess knew Sean was in danger in this world. She had sent them to protect him, even at the risk of exposing her own position. Eleanor had thought Sean would be deeply moved…'

"No, no, no, it's not that I think it isn't enough," Sean said. He was touched, truly, but the feeling left him more frozen than moved. He knew things couldn't possibly be as simple as they seemed on the surface.

"Don't forget, Her Highness the Saintess never does anything for just one reason."

At his words, the sisters exchanged a glance and fell into thought.

'It was true, what he said. Everyone knew Her Highness the Saintess was very shrewd—in a good way. After interacting with her personally, they'd discovered she was not only shrewd but also capricious. No one could guess her thoughts. They hadn't even realized that being sent to the farm wasn't a punishment but an opportunity until Catherine pointed it out.'

Eleanor truly couldn't figure out what the Saintess's other objective might be.

"It's fine, it's not important." Sean waved his hand dismissively.

'If he couldn't guess, so be it. At the end of the day, Olivia wouldn't harm him.'

"What's important is what I'm about to say next."

Sean's expression became serious, and he asked gravely, "Do you two have any idea who that girl you just offended was?"

"Master's girlfriend?" Eleanor answered tentatively.

Elise, on the other hand, bit her lip lightly and didn't say a word.

Sean: "...Actually, not yet."

Eleanor: "Huh?"

'Does that mean Sean is pursuing that girl named Elvire?'

Elise: "Oh?"

'So there's a chance?'

She instantly cheered up and asked, "Then what's her relationship with Master?"

Sean's answer, simple and clear, would show the girl she was celebrating far too soon.

"Let's put my relationship with her aside for a moment. What you need to know first is her identity."

"Her name is Elvire Nix Seraphina."

"The second daughter of the Blazing Angel Family... oh, the eldest daughter now. Daeli is her older sister."

The two girls: "???"

'The Blazing Angel Family??'

Elise's heart went cold.

'No way...'

'The girl she just talked back to out of a tiny bit of jealousy... was the heir to the Blazing Angel Family??'

'This is bad!'

"Master, save me! Waaaah!"

Sean: "..."

'Did she have to chicken out that fast?'

He didn't know whether to laugh or be angry. "So you're scared now?"

"I'm not trying to nag, but look at you. You're a Grand Mage, yet you're still so impulsive."

If Elise hadn't acted, hadn't revealed her aura, no one would have ever guessed the girl's true power.

Elise said pitifully, "Even if I'm a Grand Mage, I'm still a girl, you know."

'She was young, and unlike other Grand Mages, she hadn't reached her level through her own Cultivation. She didn't have as many insights or life experiences, so of course her personality was still the same as before…'

As Elise's twin sister, Eleanor naturally had to twist the knife. She said deliberately, "Oh, she's plenty bold. She even dared to talk back to Her Highness the Saintess before."

This time it was Sean's turn. "Huh?"

"What could possibly make you risk your life like that?"

'He remembered a thing or two about Olivia's temper. She was that ruthless even to him—if she said she'd push him off a cliff, she'd do it, let alone how she'd treat others.'

Just as Eleanor was about to speak, Elise covered her mouth, glaring at her angrily. "You're not allowed to say it!"

Sean: "..."

'Fine, don't tell me then.'

He brought the topic back. "For now, you don't have to worry about Elvire coming to settle scores with you. She's not that petty."

"But in the future, don't be so rude in front of her again. Got it?"

'Elvire was his sister-in-law, and he couldn't let the girl come to harm over this.'

At this moment, Eleanor also came to a realization and said thoughtfully, "That's not right, Master."

"You are Daeli's husband, and Elvire is Daeli's sister, yet you had us call her Lady of the House…"

'Doesn't this mean he wants the younger sister after already taking the older one?'

'As it so happened, she and Elise were also an older and a younger sister.'

'And twins, at that.'

The more Eleanor thought about it, the more something felt off. 'This Lord Blake doesn't seem to be as much of a gentleman as I had imagined…' As she spoke, her voice trailed off, her face turned red, and she lowered her head, muttering, "Perhaps the historical records are mistaken?"

Sean said without batting an eye, "Yes, they're mistaken. It's all just apocrypha. Pay it no mind."

'Mhm, any records unfavorable to Lord Blake are just historical nihilism!'

Elise, meanwhile, was sneaking glances at Sean, her thoughts unreadable.

He'd asked what needed to be asked and said what needed to be said. Sean slapped his thigh, stood up, and said, "Alright, I've told you all this because I want you to know that no matter what Diana ordered you to do, as far as I'm concerned, you two sisters are my friends. We'll interact the same way we always have. You don't have to call me Master."

Eleanor shook her head. "We can't, Master. Since we made a promise to Her Highness the Saintess, we must see it through."

Elise nodded repeatedly. "Yes, Master! One must be true to their word!"

Sean deliberately put on an imposing air. "What? Do you think the Saintess's orders are more important than mine? You won't even listen to Mr. Blake?"

Eleanor looked up and asked very seriously, "If we don't listen, will you kill us, Master?"

Sean: "..."

"It wouldn't go that far."

'They weren't enemies. If they made a mistake, the worst they'd get is some family discipline.'

But Eleanor said, "But Her Highness the Saintess *will* kill us."

Sean: "..."

'I get it. You're being "forced" to do this.'

He said irritably, "So being too lenient with you was a mistake, was it?"

"Master, you misunderstand," Eleanor said in a small voice, lowering her head. "Actually, Master doesn't need to overthink it. Elise and I are doing this voluntarily."

Elise finally found a chance to stab her in the back. "At least, *I* am."

Eleanor: "?"

"Fine, fine, fine."

Sean's tone grew cold. "I'll ask one last time. You absolutely have to call me Master, is that it?"

Elise raised her defiant eyes. "Yes, Master."

Sean grew angry.

"Then what are you waiting for? Go run my bath!"

"Your Master wants to take a bath!"
