The two women replied piteously, "Yes, Master."
Sean felt even better after disciplining the Eleanor Sisters a little. He seemed to have completely put the events of last night behind him.
This lasted until he had finished his meal, changed his clothes, and headed out, where he ran into Elvire and Elise on their way to the dining hall for breakfast.
"Well, if it isn’t Mr. Writer?"
Elise said dramatically, "Getting used to life with maids so quickly? Seems you’ve had plenty of practice being a young master."
Sean: "..."
He coughed twice, signaling for the Eleanor Sisters to hurry over and greet Elvire and Elise.
The two women obediently bowed to Elvire and Elise.
"Miss Flame Crow, Miss Elise, good morning."
"Hello to you both." Elvire gave a slight nod.
Sean was stunned. ’Did I hear that right?’
’The haughty Miss Flame Crow actually returned the greeting?’
Elise was also quite surprised by this. Remembering that she and Elvire had a small argument just last night, she had expected to get the cold shoulder. She never thought Elvire would actually respond to them, as if she hadn’t taken the matter to heart at all.
Elvire couldn’t be bothered to acknowledge Sean’s strange gaze. With a soft hmph, she pulled Elise into the dining hall.
’She had been angry yesterday because the Eleanor Sisters’ origins were unknown.’
’Her own boyf— no, her good friend, suddenly had two young, beautiful maids by his side—twins, no less. No girl could tolerate that. But Sean had explained it clearly. The two women were proper maids, so everything was fine now.’
’It wasn’t like she hadn’t been a noble herself in the past.’
’When it came to maids, she used to have far more than Sean. Her gardens were full of them.’
’On this point, Elvire could understand Sean. There was nothing wrong with liking to be served; everyone did. As long as he didn’t cross any lines, she wouldn’t pry.’
’Did he really think that she, as the Lady of the House, would be the type to nitpick and hold every little mistake against her servants?’
’She wasn’t that petty.’
Sean followed Elvire into the dining hall.
Elvire: "What are you doing?"
Sean: "Eating?"
Elvire glanced at the Eleanor Sisters. "Haven’t you eaten already?"
She had woken up early today and had seen the Eleanor Sisters from her window, carrying breakfast from the dining hall back to their room.
She didn’t need to guess who it was for.
Sean sat down beside her, shamelessly self-assured. "Just because I’ve eaten, doesn’t mean I can’t eat with you again, right?"
Elvire: "..."
’So he’s decided to be a rogue, has he?’
’Ugh, there was really nothing to be done with this infuriating guy.’
The "server" quickly brought the breakfast over.
It was none other than Mr. Sea Witch, who had tried to escape in the chaos only to be dragged back by Kate.
Quite a few people had been captured and brought back to the ship last night.
Considering that such a large ship would need a crew, Kate and Sopea hadn’t killed everyone just yet. They kept a few who were relatively easy to control, used Mind Magic to erase their memories concerning the Florist Family, and brought them back to the ship as free labor.
Sopea wasn’t worried about anyone suddenly regaining their memories.
They were still a long way from the mainland after leaving World’s End. If anything seemed amiss, they could always toss someone into the sea for a bit of fishing—and maybe get some fresh seafood in return.
As for the Sea Witch Sabeck...
His memories hadn’t been erased.
But he had already been beaten into submission by Kate. Even now, his nose and eyes were still a little swollen.
This was the price for trying to run away.
They were all respectable High-tier Wizards, after all. There was a code: you can kill a man, but you can’t humiliate him. While getting beaten up last night, Sabeck had wanted to just die and get it over with. Being with Sean’s group was no different from being dead anyway. Not only was his Magic Power sealed, but even going for a walk to see the Sunshine depended on their whims. In all his years, Sabeck had never suffered such a great humiliation.
It got to the point where, during the beating last night, he couldn’t stop himself from roaring at Kate, "Kill me if you have the guts!"
Kate: "Dream on."
"I hear you have a logistics company?"
"Transfer it to my name when we get back. It won’t be too late to die after that."
Sabeck: "???"
’So, you don’t just want my life, you want my money too??’
’Son of a beach!’
Since Sean and the others had originally planned to just sneak onto the cruise ship and find a chance to run, they couldn’t exactly bring a hostage along. So, they had locked Sabeck in a secret place and left him to his own devices. As a result, Sabeck missed the grand spectacle at the port: Eleanor, with a single spell, annihilating a thousand Witch Hunters and the Florist Family’s Clan Leader in an instant.
It was only later, when Kate and Sopea went to the home of the White Ice Port’s owner to "clean up" his memories and erase traces like surveillance footage, that they also showed the recording to Sabeck.
Sabeck was utterly astounded.
He fell into line on the spot.
And so, as he was now serving plates in the dining hall, bringing breakfast to Elvire and Sean, his very heart trembled when he saw the two smiling women standing behind Sean.
He had never imagined that Wizards of the Great Mage Level even existed in this world.
What was even more terrifying was that these two, who were clearly Grand Mages who should have been enshrined by the Church Court and enjoying supreme treatment, were instead serving as maids for someone else...
Good heavens, he had no idea how many times his worldview had shattered in the past day.
He even suspected that Sean might be the reincarnation of Carl Black.
Otherwise, how could he possibly have two Grand Mages serving him as maids?
At this point, Sabeck no longer wanted to run.
’Perhaps serving plates for Grand Mages, and the master of Grand Mages, wasn’t such a bad fate after all...’
Not long after, Kate and the others also arrived at the dining hall.
"Oh, Teacher? Miss Flame Crow?"
"Everyone’s here?"
Yisha dragged Koni along as she scurried over, sensibly greeting the Eleanor Sisters.
"Good morning, sisters."
