The Most Arbitrary Wizard
Chapter 335 - 163: The Most Loyal Supporter and The Most Loyal BelieverElvire hadn’t wanted to try.
Knowing full well the enemy could reflect her Magic, casting a spell just to have it bounced back would make her look like an idiot.
But Sean was telling her to wail on Pulente...
Elvire recalled that Sean knew the Truth Technique as well.
’And according to Sean himself, his Truth Technique was taught to him personally by her own scumbag brother-in-law, Carl Black. So it had to be better than Pulente’s, right?’
But there was a problem.
Even if Sean’s understanding of the Truth Technique was deeper, it didn’t change the fact that he was only Tier Three. His Magic Power was far inferior to Pulente’s. This was a fundamental weakness, not something a deeper understanding could make up for.
However...
Considering how she had always thought Sean was just messing around, only for him to repeatedly prove her wrong with surprising results, Elvire decided to trust him this once.
Besides, she couldn’t stand Pulente’s smug attitude.
’He only knew a few of the simplest Techniques, yet he was strutting around like a big shot. Anyone who didn’t know better would think he was Blake’s personal disciple.’
And with Elise and Eleanor present, no accidents could happen.
’Although Elvire was loath to admit it, as the Lady of the House, her Tier was lower than that of her two Maids, and she had to rely on them for protection. But that was the reality of the situation. Sean, Eleanor, Elise... having this master and his two servants around gave her a profound sense of security.’
And so, Elvire decided to go all out.
"Sonix, Prado."
Flame Phoenix Curse.
This was the strongest Magic Spell Elvire could wield without using the Blazing Angel Secret Technique.
If she was going to hit Pulente, she might as well hit him hard.
A massive Flame Phoenix materialized before Elvire. With a piercing shriek, it charged straight for Pulente.
It was a good thing this VIP hospital room was so large.
In a regular room, she might not have even been able to cast the Flame Phoenix Curse.
The temperature in the room skyrocketed. With every beat of the Flame Phoenix’s wings, the air filled with a scorching odor, like leaking natural gas, that threatened to suffocate them.
"You actually dared to try."
"Hmph. Overestimating your own abilities!"
Seeing the young woman unleash her ultimate attack, Pulente wasn’t the least bit flustered. Instead, his expression was one of pure contempt.
He had said it before: against those of the same Tier, he was invincible.
And what’s more, the Flame Crow’s Tier was currently lower than his.
The reason he’d played dead earlier wasn’t because he was afraid of Sean’s group, but because he didn’t want to get entangled in unnecessary trouble. He just wanted to do his job as Governor—that was the task his superiors had given him. As for the various great families and the bitter feuds between Witch Hunters and Wizards, he had no desire to get involved. That’s why he’d feigned weakness to avoid conflict.
But Sean and his companions just had to force his hand.
So be it.
’In that case, he would personally teach these outrageously arrogant and insolent youngsters a lesson. He’d teach them some respect for their elders!’
HUMMM!
Pulente raised his hand. The golden ring in his palm abruptly expanded, standing vertically before him like a circular Teleportation Gate. Innumerable symbols flowed around its edge, rotating slowly like the hands of a clock.
"Go back!"
Pulente roared at the charging Flame Phoenix.
The golden ring instantly erupted with the light of knowledge. The empty space at its center acted like an invisible mirror, poised to reflect the Phoenix.
But—
"Sorry, it’s not going back."
"Eleanor, lend me your Magic Power."
"Yes, Master."
Eleanor had been ’tricked’ out of her Magic Power by Sean before, and on more than one occasion. After learning that Sean was none other than Carl Black, her trust in the man became absolute. Now, Sean no longer needed to go through any formal procedure to borrow her Power; Eleanor had lowered all her defenses, allowing him to draw from her as he willed.
The next second,
Sean’s eyes turned golden.
He extended his right hand and made a subtle clenching motion. The rotating golden ring froze, like a cat seized by the scruff of its neck. All movement ceased.
But that wasn’t all.
Sean’s wrist twisted in the opposite direction.
The golden ring began to tremble, showing faint signs of reversing its rotation.
A normally rotating ring would reflect the Magic.
A reverse-rotating ring, however, would accelerate the Magic and amplify its power.
Pulente was astounded.
"You can control my Technique??"
This is unscientific!
’Controlling someone else’s Truth Technique... It’s simply unheard of!’
Pulente immediately sensed something was wrong and put more effort into it. He had only been using one hand because using the Truth Technique single-handedly looked cool, but he couldn’t afford to be stylish now. Using both hands, he struggled with all his might, as if turning a ship’s rudder, trying to wrench the ring’s rotation back to its original direction.
"Hmph. Overestimating your own strength."
Sean snorted, throwing Pulente’s own words back at him.
’Using the Truth Technique in front of the one who originated it... and even trying to use it against me...’
’Amateur.’
Sean hadn’t drawn that much power from Eleanor.
He’d only borrowed a little, just enough to reach Tier Six.
This was purely a matter of being crushed by superior understanding and technique.
The moment Sean applied a little more force, the slight stalemate instantly broke, becoming completely one-sided. Pulente, despite straining until his face turned crimson, couldn’t do a thing to stop Sean.
The ring began to spin in reverse, completely out of his control.
The Flame Phoenix passed through the ring. Its already scorching aura intensified, becoming almost tangible as it slammed viciously into Pulente.
BOOM!
AARGH!
The tremendous explosion was accompanied by a pained, cracking scream. Pulente was sent flying, smashing a human-shaped hole through the wall and hurtling into the adjacent room in a truly pathetic fashion.
Room 997.
A wealthy man, who had been sitting on his sofa reading a magazine, was startled by the sudden explosion and nearly leaped to his feet. He then watched as a figure smashed through the wall, crashed onto the living room floor, rolled two and a half times, and came to a stop right at his feet.
