The problem with Papillon Inc. threw a wrench in Riki and Liz’s vacation. In the end, Liz was left at the resort alone with Angeline, while Riki went to deal with Hansen and Angeline’s manager, accompanied by Athena and the police.

When Riki finally finished that afternoon, he returned to the resort and saw only Liz there.

"Liz? Are you alone?" Riki asked, sitting down next to Liz, who was sitting on the balcony, lost in thought. Liz didn’t even turn to look at Riki at all; she kept staring off into the distance.

"Liz?" Riki asked again, sensing that something was off with her.

Suddenly, however, Liz turned to Riki with a bitter smile and said,

"Riki, I think it’s best if I’m not with you, right? I shouldn’t have ruined your relationship with Angeline back then... because I realize now that my feelings for you might just be an obsession. I mean, how could I have almost believed the manager when Angeline—ugh, I hurt Angeline’s feelings. All this time, she’s always been thinking of me, putting my wishes first. Why did I act so selfish toward Angeline?"

Riki immediately pulled the girl into his arms, letting the beautiful girl cry there.

Riki let Liz cry for quite a while, until the sun had set, leaving streaks of orange and purple in the sky that was slowly growing dark.

When Liz began to calm down, her sobs subsiding, Riki spoke in a gentle tone.

"I may not be able to understand your feelings, but what I do know is... you don’t have to give in; just start trying to trust Angeline. If you choose to leave me, that means you’re abandoning me, right? Don’t you care about my feelings? I mean, I don’t want to put my feelings first, but I hope you’ll stay with me. We can start a more serious relationship—"

"I don’t think I can, Riki. I don’t want to get married, and I’m not ready to have kids either," Liz said suddenly.

Of course, Riki was shocked to hear this. Riki hadn’t even thought about marriage or children yet either.

"Liz... it doesn’t have to go that far. We can start by just dating, going on dates to beautiful places and—"

"But I don’t want to get married at all."

Riki fell silent after Liz cut him off again. At that moment, Liz looked very serious and very strange.

Riki still remembered that long ago, before he had his system and was still very timid, he’d once listened to Liz pour her heart out.

Liz said she wanted to build a career, then get married, and eventually have kids.

Well, people do change quickly, but this was a strange change, in Riki’s opinion.

Riki had never even brought up marriage or anything like that, since he and Liz weren’t even officially dating yet.

What was going on with Liz?

Why did Riki feel like something was off with this girl?

"Liz..." Riki tried to reach for her hand, but suddenly Liz stood up and stepped away. She stared at Riki with a look of disgust.

"Don’t touch me."

Of course, Riki was confused by this sudden change; something was clearly wrong with Liz.

"Okay, calm down first, but tell me what’s wrong with you—why are you acting like this all of a sudden? I just hugged you when you were crying, and now you’re suddenly saying you don’t want me to touch you. Sit down and relax; I won’t touch you," said Riki, still trying to speak gently and calmly.

Riki thought Liz would go back to her old self. However, the girl just glared at him even more scornfully.

"You’re planning to sleep with me right here, aren’t you? That’s why you brought me to a place like this—you’re such a jerk! Taking advantage of a situation like this."

At that moment, Riki was completely at a loss—until Athena arrived in her fairy form, visible only to Riki.

Athena arrived with an expression somewhere between panic and anger.

"Master! What are you doing here? Angeline is dying in the bathroom—help her! Give her the healing potion before it’s too late—hurry!" the fairy shouted.

This only made Riki even more confused. Liz looked strange, and now Angeline was dying in the bathroom—even though there were only the two of them there.

"Where’s Angeline, Liz?"

"You’re asking about her at a time like this? You like her better than me, don’t you? So what you just said was all a lie? You’re lying to me—Riki!"

Riki didn’t want to waste any more time listening to Liz’s nonsense; there was a life he had to save.

"RIKI! IF YOU GO TO ANGELINE, I’LL JUMP FROM HERE! RIKI!"

Riki ignored Liz’s screams; he hurried to find Angeline.

When Riki opened the bathroom door Athena had pointed out, he was shocked to see Angeline lying on the bathroom floor, covered in blood from a knife wound to her stomach.

Not wanting to destroy any evidence, Riki finally called an ambulance and the police. Athena helped by showing the CCTV footage from inside the resort.

There were indeed CCTV cameras inside the resort, but they were actually only located in the living room, on the balcony, and in the kitchen. There were no cameras in the bedroom or bathroom.

However, Athena helped ensure that the other cameras could clearly pick up the voices of Liz or Angeline.

Meanwhile, Liz made the situation even more chaotic by actually jumping off the balcony.

In the end, both Liz and Angeline were rushed to the nearest hospital. However, Riki only remembered to give the healing potion to Angeline.

Riki was in a complete panic at that moment.

Why had a vacation that was supposed to be romantic turned into such a mess?

Riki couldn’t sleep; he was involved in the case. So, Riki ended up staying overnight at the police station to give a statement.

The CCTV footage was reviewed together with Riki as well. Since Riki also didn’t know what had happened, he was very surprised by what the footage showed.

While Riki was away, everything was fine at first, until Liz started a commotion by accusing Angeline again. Angeline defended herself, which made Liz very angry.

Eventually, the incident became unavoidable. Angeline’s screams could be heard clearly from the bathroom as she begged Liz not to stab her.

When Liz came out of the bathroom, she was already clean, but she wasn’t crying.

Liz just sat on the balcony lost in thought, clearly visible on the CCTV footage. Then Riki arrived and calmed Liz down.

Thanks to that CCTV footage, Riki was cleared of the charges. The police had to wait for Liz and Angeline to recover from the hospital before reopening the investigation.

Riki, who hadn’t slept a wink, finally returned home in the morning, a mess.

"Master, you should rest at our house first," said Twaila, who was with Athena as well, looking at Riki with pity.

Riki simply nodded, then went to the dimensional realm where the fairies’ home was located.

He wanted to escape for just a moment from his world, which had suddenly become so chaotic.

Why had Liz suddenly acted that way?

"Sleep, Master. Let me find out what happened," whispered Athena before Riki finally drifted off to sleep.
