The One King

Chapter 11: Olivia's Tragic Past

"Everything began twenty thousand years ago, when I ascended to godhood and founded the empire."

Olivia's voice was filled with bitterness as she recalled the distant past.

"After I finished everything in the mortal world and ensured the stability of the empire, I ascended to the Divine World."

She paused briefly before continuing.

"But unfortunately for me, when I arrived in that world, I happened to enter the divine domain of a High Goddess."

"Her followers discovered me and attempted to capture me. I killed them for daring to offend the dignity of a goddess."

A bitter smile appeared on Olivia's ethereal face.

"Unfortunately, among that group of followers was a woman whom that goddess had been preparing to become her envoy in the mortal world."

"That goddess was the Blood Moon Goddess."

"Because of this, she hunted me for ten thousand years."

"Eventually, she caught me and imprisoned me for two thousand years."

Olivia's voice trembled slightly.

"For those two thousand years, she tortured me every single day."

"Then, on one occasion, I finally found an opportunity to escape."

Her expression became bitter.

"But I paid a terrible price for that escape."

"I lost my divine body."

When Gaia heard the tragic story of the goddess before her, she didn't know whether she should feel happy about Olivia's suffering or pity her miserable life.

Countless cultivators in the mortal world dreamed of ascending to godhood.

Olivia had actually accomplished that dream.

Yet after reaching the Divine World, her life had become a nightmare.

For thousands upon thousands of years, she had lived like a wandering, homeless spirit.

Azrael suddenly sneered with undisguised contempt.

"Just a worthless High God forced you to live like a stray dog for thousands of years..."

His gaze became cold.

"And then you come before this Great One and order him to kneel."

As he spoke the final words, the temperature in the room suddenly plunged toward freezing.

His voice became harsh and violent, carrying an oppressive killing intent.

Gaia was stunned when she heard Azrael describe a High God as "worthless."

But when she heard the terrifying change in his voice, her body couldn't help but tremble.

Olivia's condition was even worse.

Her ethereal soul trembled uncontrollably, and tears began forming in her eyes.

Deep inside, she cursed herself for provoking this terrifying man.

When Azrael noticed Olivia's silence, his aura began to rise.

"Why are you silent?"

His voice was barely above a murmur.

"Do you think I'm joking with you?"

Olivia's soul trembled violently.

She immediately continued speaking.

"As for how I returned to the mortal world..."

"When I escaped from that High Goddess, I wandered through the Divine World for several hundred years in the form of a spirit."

"Then, one day, I discovered a spatial rift."

"I investigated it with my divine consciousness and discovered that it led to the Southern Continent of the mortal world."

"So I entered it..."

"And returned here."

Olivia paused.

"As for why I entered your body..."

Her voice trailed off.

She hesitated.

She knew that the moment she revealed the truth, Gaia would undoubtedly become furious.

And since Gaia was now under the protection of that terrifying man, once he learned the reason she had entered his subordinate's body...

She feared she would suffer an even more miserable fate.
