“Glory to the Greatest... Glory to the Council.”
Then the statue on the right spoke while suppressing its aura:
“Forgive us, Your Excellency. Your appearance has changed so much that we failed to recognize Your Majesty.”
The two statues then stood up and grasped the handles of the enormous gate.
With a surge of power, the gate that had remained sealed for millions of years began to open, little by little.
Azrael stepped forward with wide strides, while Gaia hurried after him, her mind filled with countless thoughts.
Once they had entered, the enormous gate closed behind them with a deafening roar.
After Azrael and Gaia disappeared beyond the gate, the statue on the left, Valdor, spoke:
“Igor, in your opinion, how many eras have passed since the Eternal War?”
The statue on the right, Igor, replied:
“I do not know, Valdor. But since the Lord has returned, that means the other Supreme Entities will soon return as well.”
Both statues sighed before returning to their motionless states.
Meanwhile, Azrael walked through the enormous, dark corridors of the castle, with Gaia following behind him.
His steps were calm and familiar, as though he had walked through these corridors countless times before.
After half an hour, they reached another enormous gate.
However, this gate was different from the previous one.
It was far more magnificent and imposing.
Engraved across its surface was what appeared to be a battle between incomprehensible entities.
On either side of the gate were two words written in golden letters:
Council.
Judgment.
Azrael stepped forward and placed his hand against a specific point on the gate before pouring his energy into it.
The two golden words immediately began shining with dazzling light.
In the next instant, Azrael and Gaia disappeared.
When they reappeared, they found themselves standing upon what appeared to be a floating platform suspended in a star-filled sky.
The platform was one kilometer wide.
Surrounding it were towering pillars rising from a seemingly bottomless, pitch-black abyss beneath the platform.
The pillars surrounded the platform from every direction, forming a shape resembling the letter C.
Atop each pillar stood a magnificent throne.
Gaia carefully examined the pillars and noticed that there were nineteen of them.
Twelve were identical in size and height, and the word “King” was engraved upon each of them.
One pillar was larger than those twelve.
Engraved upon its surface were the words:
“King of Kings.”
Then there were five pillars that were even larger than the previous thirteen.
Four of them were equal in size, and the word “God” was engraved upon each.
The fifth was taller than the other four, and the word:
“Regent”
was engraved upon it.
Finally, there was the last pillar.
It stood at the very center of the others.
It was the largest pillar of them all.
Engraved upon its surface was a single word:
“Ruler.”
Yet unlike every other pillar...
There was no throne above it.
This was what confused Gaia the most.
Azrael gazed at the pillars and thrones with profound nostalgia.
After a long silence, he murmured:
“It is time for us to return to the world, my companions.”
He then instructed Gaia to remain on the platform.
Azrael turned toward the central pillar—the Pillar of the Ruler.
Then he stepped onto empty space.
Yet instead of falling, he began ascending as though invisible stairs had appeared beneath his feet.
As he climbed higher and higher, his clothes began to change.
His simple robes gradually transformed into magnificent imperial attire, black and purple in color.
Emblazoned upon the robes was a single word:
“Council.”
