The Real Heiress Has an Appraisal System
Chapter 71: Luxury Cars! Huaxiang Used Car MarketNow that she had a luxury car appraisal System, it would be rude for Gu Shengsheng to refuse.
She nodded and smiled at her livestream audience. "Alright."
"I won’t disappoint you all."
Gu Shengsheng’s confidence only made more people doubt her.
"Does the streamer really think she can find a hidden gem? Maybe somewhere else, but not with cars. They’re all rebuilt, and even a second-hand luxury car is no good."
"All the performance specs will be degraded. And from the looks of it, the streamer doesn’t know anything about cars. She looks like she’s never even driven before."
"A total newbie can’t get by on luck alone. This stuff is serious and really difficult."
"I’m not gonna say anything, but I know a lot about cars. So, I’ll just wish the streamer good luck!"
"..."
Gu Shengsheng had long stopped paying attention to comments like these.
As she was about to turn off her phone, the SF Express courier appeared, true to his name, like a gust of wind.
Gu Shengsheng didn’t even see him appear. After she filled out the form, the courier took the package and left.
Just as Gu Shengsheng was about to tell him to slow down, the courier bumped right into Chen Yufan, who was running down toward them.
The SF Express courier apologized profusely before rushing off, their schedules being incredibly tight.
Chen Yufan also said it was nothing.
Gu Shengsheng ended the livestream and slipped her phone into her pocket.
She rushed over and saw his knee was covered in blood, so she quickly helped him to his feet.
As she considered taking him to the hospital, she noticed the handsome young man’s face was streaked with tears.
Gu Shengsheng froze. Comforting people was not her strong suit.
"Are you okay?" Gu Shengsheng asked.
Chen Yufan was still crying, but he kept trying to wipe the tears away. He looked so stubborn that even as an onlooker, she couldn’t stand to watch.
Then Gu Shengsheng handed him a pack of tissues. "What’s wrong with crying for a bit? No one’s going to laugh at you."
"Where are you headed?" Gu Shengsheng asked. "You seem to be in a reckless hurry. Want me to give you a ride?"
In response to her question, Chen Yufan said, "I’m going to kill myself."
"...Okay, well, I can’t give you a ride there," she said stiffly. "Whatever the problem is, you should solve it. Dying won’t fix anything."
"Sister Gu," he said, looking at her pitifully with red-rimmed eyes. "Does a person like me not deserve to be loved by their parents?"
Gu Shengsheng sighed. "My parents don’t like me either. What’s the big deal? Not all parents love their children. I tell myself that all the time."
"In my parents’ eyes, I dress like a hick and I’m uncouth. Only someone who was blind would choose me." Before Gu Shengsheng could finish, Chen Yufan interrupted her.
"No way! Sister Gu, you’re great! I watch your livestreams every day. You’re super amazing, and you have tons of fans."
"See? I might be a failure in my parents’ eyes, but other people will still choose me."
’It’s your own life,’ Gu Shengsheng thought. Then she added, "And if you die, assuming your parents really don’t love you, they won’t even worry."
"But that’s just one possibility. Yufan, I don’t get the feeling your mother actually hates you. She might just have a bad temper and be emotionally unstable," she said. "I’d suggest she see a therapist."
’Her behavior is a bit twisted.’
Tears started rolling down Chen Yufan’s cheeks again. "It’s because of me..."
"It’s all my fault our family is like this—so completely shattered. Sister Gu, I don’t know how to find my little sister. We went out to play together, and she went missing."
"The driver took me and my sister out to get some food. I came back perfectly fine, but I don’t know what happened..."
"The driver, that car... is the driver’s phone still around?" Gu Shengsheng asked.
"They’re gone. The driver, my sister, and the car—they all disappeared. I was the only one left. The security footage didn’t show where they went. It’s like they vanished into thin air."
"My mom went to see a fortune-teller, who said I have a hard fate—that I would bring misfortune and death to my sister and my parents."
"How old were you then?" she asked.
"Four."
’...Jeez. He was four. They were both just little kids. His sister disappeared. Was a toddler supposed to fight a kidnapper to the death or something?’
Before Gu Shengsheng could say anything, Chen Yufan agitatedly tugged on the corner of her shirt.
"Sister Gu, can you please help me? I know you helped that family solve the wife-murder case. My mom even posted a twenty-million-yuan reward with the police to find my sister."
"If you can find her, I’ll give you all of my allowance money, too!"
Gu Shengsheng explained patiently, "I’d love to help you, but I’m no miracle worker. All I can do is promise to keep an eye out, but only as an amateur."
"Last time was just a stroke of luck. I’m not a professional detective. You should go to the police for this. Yufan, don’t just clutch at straws because you’re desperate."
"It’s been over a decade since your sister went missing. With no evidence, there’s no way to search. How about this: go home, get all the information together, and if you need help with anything, come find me."
"I might be able to help you analyze the situation, but I’m not all-powerful. I can’t be the kind of hero you’re imagining, who can do absolutely anything."
’Gu Shengsheng wondered if Chen Yufan thought she was some kind of superhero who could do anything.’
"I understand! Thank you, Sister Gu!" With that, Chen Yufan started walking home, looking quite excited.
Gu Shengsheng scratched her head, a look of confusion in her eyes. ’I didn’t say anything that would make him think I could solve all his problems, did I?’
—
After Gu Shengsheng went back and finished restoring the "cow’s tongue" iron, she lay down on her bed and fell asleep.
She slept until the next afternoon but didn’t see her grandmother or Lu Linlin. There was only a note: ’Shengsheng, heat up the food. The two of us went out to have some fun.’
’Just as I expected.’
Her grandmother and Lu Linlin were two peas in a pod. Neither of them was the type to sit still.
Going out to have fun was just their normal routine.
After finishing her meal, Gu Shengsheng went out, heading straight for the Huaxiang Used Car Market.
These past few days, because she had found so many hidden gems at Pan Garden, the place was now swarming with people every day, so she decided to stay away for a while.
This was her first time at a used car market.
Gu Shengsheng had just arrived at the showroom and started her livestream.
A middle-aged man walked over. "Miss, what kind of car are you looking for?"
"On the right are the Bentleys, in the middle are the Mercedes, and on the far left are the Ferraris. If you look over here, we have a Jaguar and a Ferrari 488—that one is over three million."
"We also have Porsches and Lexuses. The used ones in this section are around nine hundred thousand."
"Oh," Gu Shengsheng said. "Which one would you recommend for me?"
He glanced at Gu Shengsheng’s slender frame and plain clothes, figuring she wasn’t too wealthy.
So he made his recommendation: "How about a Mercedes? Our used ones here are just over three hundred thousand. It’s in excellent condition, practically brand-new. You won’t even be able to tell it’s a rebuilt model."
