The Reincarnated Hitman

Chapter 91: Attacking The Splinter’s Base [Final]: Winner

"Bye-bye newbie," Tesla said with a smile as she turned away from the clone, apparently satisfied that the fight was over.

She had underestimated his speed, but there was no way he could survive that much electricity.

Or so she thought.

A faint sound suddenly reached her ears, causing her to stop and slowly turn her head back towards the yellow-haired kid.

Liam was still lying against the wall, smoke rising from his body, but his fingers were moving before he suddenly placed his hand against the ground.

"You’re..." He slowly pushed himself upright.

Tesla’s smile immediately disappeared.

"What the hell?"

Liam spat a small amount of blood onto the floor before wiping his mouth with the back of his hand.

"That hurt."

Tesla stared at him, disbelief evident on her face.

She had felt the amount of electricity that had passed through his body; there was no way someone should still be standing after that.

Awakened human or not.

"You’re supposed to be dead," She said with a frown, still confused about how he had managed to survive.

"Probably..."

"But fortunately," he smiled, even though that felt painful right now, "I’m quite impossible to kill."

Though he confidently said that, he knew that was far from the truth; after all, the clone was already on the verge of collapse, and he could feel it.

The damage was severe, and the Pragma was keeping its body together, but it was being consumed far faster than it could recover.

He needed to end this quickly.

"Is that so?" Tesla’s confusion turned into interest as the smile returned on her face. "Shall we find out how much it would actually take to kill you?"

Liam’s expression remained calm, but internally, he cursed, ’She’s enjoying this way too much.’

Tesla raised both hands, and a field of electricity formed around her body before gathering around her fingertips.

The moment it left her finger, Liam immediately disappeared, and just in time at that because the next second,

BOOM!

The electricity melted straight through the wall behind him, and he was certain that the clone would’ve been completely melted if that hit him.

But dodging the Electricity didn’t mean he was out of danger, because he was soon forced to move when a piece of metal was launched towards his head again.

His figure became a blur as he weaved between the flying pieces of metal. Tesla, meanwhile, continued firing bolts of electricity between them, forcing him to change direction constantly.

She had turned the entire room into a death trap.

"You’re fast!" Tesla exclaimed, her smile widening as she watched him dodge another bolt. "But how long can you keep that up?"

She launched another wave of metal toward him, but this time, Liam didn’t try to dodge everything.

He grabbed one of the pipes as it flew past, spun with its momentum and threw it back at her.

"This again," she sounded almost disappointed as the electromagnetic field around her stopped the metal pipe again.

Though the attack failed, Liam had managed to learn something new.

Every time she formed an electromagnetic barrier around her, she would first release control of all other things being affected by the field.

Which meant that the barrier needed her to focus completely on it.

He didn’t have enough time to come up with a complicated plan. The clone’s body was already reaching its limit, and another prolonged exchange would only make things worse.

Liam simply needed to force her to divide her attention.

"You’re getting boring, newbie," Tesla said as she raised her hand again. "Maybe this time I’ll aim for your heart."

Electricity began gathering around her fingers.

Liam suddenly picked up another piece of metal from the ground and threw it at her.

Tesla sighed.

The electromagnetic barrier was immediately formed around her, stopping the projectile inches from her face.

"Really?"

His body became a blur as he disappeared again, but this time, he had a different plan.

Tesla’s electromagnetic barrier was put down as she tried to sense his, but he was moving too fast for her to pinpoint exactly where he was.

She suddenly lifted her hand in front of her, putting up the barrier just in time to block rubble that was headed straight for her.

But that wasn’t the only one.

The moment her barrier was down, another object was launched at her again from a different direction.

Liam was using his speed to move around the room, deliberately throwing small pieces of debris from different directions.

Every time Tesla stopped one, her electromagnetic barrier expanded and contracted.

"How annoying."

She released the barrier for a fraction of a second and attempted to seize control of Liam’s own electromagnetic field.

But the moment she did, the speedster appeared in front of her.

Tesla tried to put up another electromagnetic barrier, but without enough time to properly establish it, the field barely formed, and Liam’s fist slammed into her face, launching her towards the opposite side of the room.

Before she could recover, he was already upon her again as he grabbed the collar of her uniform and pulled her forward.

"Got you," he said as he pulled his head back before slamming his forehead into hers.

Tesla was a bit disoriented by the attack, and to get him away from her, she coated her entire body in electricity.

But the clone’s body was so fried at this point that he barely felt anything from the attack, and even if he did, he wouldn’t care.

He pulled her closer and drove his knee into her stomach.

BANG!

The force folded her over, but Liam didn’t release her. Instead, he spun and hurled her across the room.

Tesla was slammed into the wall, but she barely managed to keep herself upright.

She wiped the blood from the corner of her mouth and smiled.

"You—"

She didn’t get the chance to finish her words when a hand suddenly grabbed her face and slammed her back into the ground.

The last thing she noticed was a sharp metal heading directly for her head, and she barely had the chance to react before it cleanly went through her.

Fortunately for it, it was quite the painless death, so she barely felt anything.

Liam, on the other hand, let go of the metal when he was completely certain that she was dead, before he also collapsed beside her and his consciousness was kicked out of the clone.

He was also dead, evident by his fading body.

Meanwhile, the original Liam let out a sigh before saying,

"What’s the deal with troublesome women and me today?"
