Hearing Fang Ming's words, Zhou Yuan's eyes flickered as he sized up his brother-in-law.

"I really didn't expect Medicine King Hall to have connections to Ancient Martial Artists. We're talking about *Ancient Martial Artists*—beings of legend!"

Fang Ming smiled. "Brother, Medicine King Hall is one of the top corporations in the country. It's only normal for them to know Ancient Martial Artists. Who knows, they might even have an Ancient Martial Sect backing them!"

Zhou Yuan paused. He understood now that his brother-in-law had likely given up on the idea of revenge.

'Medicine King Hall alone is enough to make him back down. Add Ancient Martial Artists to the mix, and it's truly terrifying.'

He said nothing about his true reason for visiting. Pushing his teacup aside, he stood up. "I'm going to check on Fang Han's injuries."

"Mm..."

...

Chen Erbao and Lin Zhiqing had been sitting in the restaurant for a little while when Ivic approached with a beautiful young woman.

"Mr. Chen, this is the manager of our Vienna Jewelry Store. She's brought all the different types of red cords you might need!"

"Hello, Mr. Chen. Hello, Miss Lin!"

The young woman greeted them respectfully, then laid out an assortment of red cords for Lin Zhiqing to choose from.

Chen Erbao didn't know anything about such things, nor was he interested. While Lin Zhiqing carefully made her selection, he pulled Ivic aside.

"What else is there for fun around Changbai Mountain? We've had our fill of hiking."

Hearing this, Ivic thought for a moment. "Mr. Chen, there's also a rafting attraction. It's quite thrilling. Would you be interested?"

"Rafting..."

The word "rafting" instantly pulled Chen Erbao's memory back to his university days.

He remembered his class organizing a rafting trip once. Zhang Yiyi had wanted to be his partner, but he'd been too much of a coward back then. After Wang Yong intimidated him, he gave up his spot.

'Thinking back on it now, I was so young and naive...'

"Set it up. We'll go rafting today; we have to head back tomorrow."

It was already the end of August. He needed to get back, sort out his work, and then head straight to Binhai.

Ivic nodded and left.

Lin Zhiqing had finished choosing a red cord. She carefully threaded it through the hole in the Jade Pendant and said coaxingly to Chen Erbao,

"Er Bao, you have to put it on for me!"

"Alright!"

Chen Erbao reached around from behind, his large hands moving to her collarbone. He tucked the small, exquisite Jade Pendant inside her collar and tied the red cord behind her neck.

Ivic was highly efficient. He had already contacted the attraction's management, so they wouldn't have to wait in line and could go straight in upon arrival.

Without delay, Chen Erbao had Ivic drive the two of them to the rafting attraction.

...

After checking on Fang Han, Zhou Yuan returned to the study. His expression was normal as he exchanged a few pleasantries with Fang Ming, and then the two began a game of chess.

Zhou Mei soon returned with the housekeeper after buying groceries and began bustling around in the kitchen.

Ever since their sister had married him, the two Zhou brothers had always looked down on Fang Ming.

Although the Fang Family's business was substantial, Fang Ming himself lacked ambition and was an incorrigible womanizer.

He had married a woman from their Zhou Family, yet he kept a mistress on the side. He'd even had a son with that mistress and was now letting that illegitimate son manage the company's affairs.

'Even if Fang Han is a good-for-nothing, don't you, as his father, bear any responsibility for that?!'

Because Zhou Mei was constantly complaining in her brothers' ears, Zhou Yuan had long been dissatisfied with his brother-in-law.

Now *his* son had been beaten, yet he didn't show the slightest intention of getting revenge.

'Useless!'

「Inside Fang Han's room.」

After his mother, Zhou Mei, checked on him and went to the kitchen, Fang Han lay on the bed alone, his eyes sinister.

The faintly aching cuts on his face were a constant reminder that someone had stomped him into the ground.

'I swear I'll get revenge, or I'm not a man!'

He had already heard about last night's events from his uncle, Zhou Er, and was inwardly stunned.

'I can't believe my younger uncle made a move himself and still lost so badly!'

But that was fine. He had planned to handle this matter personally from the start and had already contacted the right people.

Over his years of throwing his weight around Changbai Mountain City, he had gotten to know many shady characters, including some unsavory types he met while carousing in other cities.

One of them was named Feng Gang. He was originally from Dian Nan, but after getting into trouble back home, he'd been drifting between major cities. He and Fang Han had met by chance.

"Hello, Feng Gang?"

"Young Master Fang, I've arrived in Changbai Mountain City!"

"Good!"

Hearing this, Fang Han's eyes lit up, and he sat up in bed.

"My men are already on that bastard's tail. Find a chance and take him out. I'll give you enough money to go lay low in the United States!"

"Don't worry, Young Master Fang. I brought several of my guys with me, and we're armed to the teeth. This is a sure thing."

"Be careful. That guy's a beast. He could probably take on a hundred men at once!"

Feng Gang was skeptical but didn't argue. He just curled his lip. "Relax. I don't care how many men he can fight. You think he can dodge a bullet?"

"Excellent. I'll arrange for you to head over right now!"

Fang Han was overjoyed. Color returned to his pale face, and his eyes gleamed with excitement.

"Kill the man and bring me the woman. I'm going to fuck her to death!"

"No problem!"

...

"Brother, dinner is ready! Let's eat!"

After preparing the meal, Zhou Mei called out from outside the study.

The two men soon came out of the study. Just as they were about to head downstairs, Fang Ming's phone suddenly rang.

Fang Ming glanced down and saw it was a call from his eldest son, Fang Hao. His eyes flickered. "You two go on ahead. I need to take this call."

Zhou Yuan's expression darkened. He turned and walked away without a word.

He had seen the caller ID clearly: "Dearest Son."

'Fang Han is right downstairs, so it can't be him. The caller must be that bastard son!'

'It's a miracle I didn't fly off the handle right then and there. How could he expect me to be pleasant after that?'

Fang Ming went back into the study alone, closed the door, and answered the call.

"Hao!"

"Dad... have you eaten?"

Fang Hao had a calm, steady personality and was very talented, which made Fang Ming extremely fond of him.

"We're just about to. How have things been at the company?"

He was practically semi-retired now. For one thing, he was getting older and no longer had the energy; many tasks felt overwhelming. For another, his eldest son was genuinely capable, which allowed him to hand over the company without any worries.

"Everything at the company is normal, it's just..."

Fang Ming frowned. "If you have something to say, just say it."

At that, Fang Hao took a deep breath. "My little brother used the family's private jet to fly some people in. Their backgrounds seem... questionable."

Fang Ming closed his eyes, thinking for a moment before sighing. "Sigh... he's suffered a major loss these last couple of days. Let him do what he wants. As long as he doesn't provoke the people from Medicine King Hall again, it's fine."

Hearing this, Fang Hao knew he couldn't press the issue. They exchanged a few more pleasantries and then hung up.

The three of them were driving on the highway when, about halfway to their destination, Chen Erbao noticed a black Jeep in the rearview mirror that seemed to be following them.

A flicker of caution went through him.

'But this is the main road to the attraction,' he thought. 'It's a busy road, so it's probably just a coincidence.'

'I already put the Zhou Family in their place yesterday. Surely they aren't stupid enough to come after me again...'

Chen Erbao quickly dismissed the thought.
