The Smiling Death

Chapter 553: Peeping Tom

Seraphina stood frozen at the open window, her golden eyes wide.

Inside the quiet healing-room, Amon lay on his back across the simple wooden patient bed.

Scarlett straddled his hips, long red hair cascading around them like a living curtain. She was bent low over him, lips sealed to his in a deep, openly carnal kiss.

Their mouths moved with hungry urgency, tongues clearly sliding and tangling. At the same time her full hips rolled in a slow, deliberate grind forward, back, forward—pressing the soft heat between her legs against the obvious hardness beneath her.

Seraphina’s palm flew up to cover her mouth. A fierce tomato-red flush exploded across her cheeks and raced down her neck.

She could have accepted a gentle kiss. This was something else entirely—lewd, indecent, soaked in raw desire. The wet sounds of their mouths, the way Scarlett’s body moved with such open hunger...

’They’re kissing so fiercely... even mixing tongues...’

Her throat worked as she swallowed hard. Heart hammering against her ribs, she found she could not look away. Golden eyes stayed locked on the sinful picture, heat blooming low in her belly despite herself.

She licked her own lips without realizing it, the flush on her face deepening.

At last the pair broke apart, both breathing heavily. Scarlett slid off him and settled at his side. Seraphina watched every word that followed, every soft movement.

"You still need to recover," Scarlett said quietly. "So let’s wait until you’re fully healthy... then we can go further."

Amon’s answer was almost shy. "Okay. I will."

A moment later he turned toward her, voice low. "Scarlett... let me enjoy those two..."

Scarlett opened her arms without hesitation. The sky-blue blouse pulled tight across the heavy swells of her breasts. "Come."

Amon moved into her embrace with a soft, happy sound and buried his face completely between those soft, warm, heavenly mounds.

He rubbed his cheeks and nose against the plush cleavage, breathing her in, surrounded by her heat and scent.

Scarlett’s arm curled around his back; her fingers stroked through his hair with slow affection. She pressed a gentle kiss to the top of his head.

"Now rest."

Amon nuzzled deeper into the warm valley of her breasts, arms tightening around her waist as his eyes drifted shut.

Seraphina’s gaze dropped to her own chest. Almost without thinking she cupped both full breasts through her clothes and gave them a slow, testing squeeze. Heat flooded her face anew.

’Will Amon love to cuddle against my breasts too...? Mine are also big...’

The thought landed. Shock and embarrassment slammed into her at once. She jerked her hands away, shook her head hard.

’What the hell am I thinking?!!’ She spun from the window, heart racing as she fled away before either of them could notice she had been watching.

---

The wooden carriage rolled steadily along the road toward Sterling City.

Clatter.

Clatter.

The rhythmic sound of wheels turning against the uneven road filled the carriage as green fields and distant forests passed beyond the windows.

After everything that had happened in Eriye Village, the group was finally heading back.

Inside the carriage, the passengers sat facing one another on two long cushioned benches.

On one side sat Marcus, Aisha, Eliana, and two other passengers.

Across from them sat Alistair, followed by Seraphina, Amon, and Scarlett.

Scarlett sat close beside Amon.

Yup, she was very close. Her hand rested comfortably in his, their fingers intertwined atop Amon’s thigh.

Amon leaned back against the seat with a satisfied expression.

"Finally! We’re going back to the academy! And we got a holiday ahead of us!!"

Marcus immediately frowned.

"Yeah, yeah. We heard you. Keep your voice down. You’re too loud."

Amon looked offended.

"What do you mean, too loud? I’m just happy that I’ve finally recovered enough to feel normal again."

Marcus gave him a wicked smirk. "Enjoy that happiness while it lasts."

Amon narrowed his eyes suspiciously. "Why?" "Because once we return, we’ll have to start preparing for the unit exams."

"..."

Amon’s smile disappeared. Reality struck him harder than Alaric’s sword. The unit tests were next month. And unlike their missions. These were written exams.

Amon sank deeper into his seat.

"No."

Marcus raised an eyebrow.

"No?"

"I don’t want to study."

"You have to."

"Why can’t the academy judge us based entirely on combat ability?"

"Because then people like you would remain idiots forever."

"Fuck you, Marcus."

"Are you a gay?" Marcus replied with smirk.

Eliana burst into laughter.

Aisha shook her head helplessly.

"M-Marcus? You are changing... this is not how you usually reply.." Amon said with shocked expression.

After the laughter subsided, Aisha’s attention shifted toward Scarlett.

Her eyes briefly fell upon Scarlett and Amon’s intertwined hands before returning to the crimson-haired beauty’s face.

"By the way, Scarlett...How long are you staying here?"

Scarlett looked toward her.

"A few weeks. I’ll be staying in Elarith City during that time."

Eliana leaned forward curiously.

"At an inn?"

Before Scarlett could answer.

"Damn it!"

Everyone looked at Amon. He appeared genuinely disappointed.

"I should’ve bought a house in Elarith. Then you wouldn’t have to stay at some inn whenever you visit."

Scarlett stared at him for a moment.

Flick!

Her finger struck his forehead.

"Ow." He rubbed the place where she flicked.

"It’s fine." She calmly returned her hand to his. "Just come and visit me."

Amon’s expression immediately brightened.

"Hehe~"

He leaned slightly closer.

"If you want, I can just stay with you until my holidays are over."

Seraphina glanced sideways.

"Amon."

"Hm?"

"You’re flirting quite openly."

Her voice remained composed, but her golden eyes unconsciously drifted downward. Toward their hands. Scarlett’s fingers were still intertwined with Amon’s.

For just a moment a faint bitterness appeared in Seraphina’s expression. It disappeared almost immediately. Then memories from yesterday returned without warning.

Amon and Scarlett lying together.

Their faces close. And then their lips kissing each other so passionately.

Seraphina’s cheeks immediately became warm. She quickly turned her gaze forward.

’Why am I remembering that?!’

Unfortunately for her someone noticed everything.

Alistair Luminous. The elder man who still looked handsome. Sitting beside his granddaughter, he caught the subtle change in her expression almost instantly.

The old man quietly observed her. Then his eyes moved toward Amon and Scarlett.

Finally he simply shook his head and looked out the carriage window. He had lived far too long not to recognize what was happening. But this wasn’t something a grandfather should interfere with.

Seraphina would have to understand her own feelings and decide what she wanted for herself.

Meanwhile, Amon remained completely oblivious.

"Hehe~ I can’t help myself."

He turned toward Scarlett.

"Oh, right. When we return, I’ll introduce you to Senior Selena. And Professor Adelia too."

Scarlett nodded.

"I’d like that."

A faint smile appeared on her lips. "I’m certainly interested in meeting Her Highness, the Princess..."

She paused. Then something subtle changed in her eyes. A brief coldness passed through those beautiful amethyst pupils.

"...but I’m even more interested in meeting your professor."

Amon didn’t notice. he replied innocently, "Great! I’m sure you’ll get along."

Eliana glanced between them before excitedly asking,

"Scarlett, while you’re staying in Elarith... Can we all spend some time together sometime?"

Scarlett looked toward the elf.

"Of course. Why not?"

Eliana smiled brightly.

"Perfect!"

The conversation continued throughout the journey. After everything they had endured during the mission, the peaceful chatter felt surprisingly refreshing.

Hours gradually passed. Eventually buildings appeared beyond the carriage windows.

The roads became wider. Crowds grew denser.

And finally, the carriage entered Sterling City. From there, the group made their way toward the city’s teleportation station.

After purchasing tickets for everyone, they entered the large teleportation hall. Their destination was Elarith City.

And after several exhausting days away. Amon and his friends were finally heading back to the academy.

---

Soon, the group stepped out of the teleportation gate.

The familiar sight of Elarith City greeted them.

The city was bustling with life. Carriages moved along the broad streets, merchants called out from their shops, and people crowded the sidewalks beneath the warm afternoon sun.

After spending so many days in a quiet village, returning to the city felt strangely noisy.

The group began walking toward the academy.

After a short distance, Scarlett suddenly stopped.

"Amon."

"Hm?"

"I’ll look for a good place to stay."

She glanced around the city.

"You should return to the academy with your friends, report that your mission is complete, and get some rest. Once I find somewhere suitable, I’ll contact you and send you the address."

Amon immediately spoke.

"If you want, I can help you look—"

Scarlett gave him a stern look.

"Just do as I say."

Amon’s mouth closed.

She continued calmly,

"I’m older than you. Don’t forget that."

"..."

Amon stared at her for a moment before obediently nodding.

"Yes, ma’am."

Marcus snorted.

Eliana covered her mouth, trying not to laugh, while Aisha didn’t even bother hiding her amusement.

"So obedient," Eliana teased.

"Shut up."

Amon rolled his eyes.

Scarlett smiled faintly before releasing his hand.

"I’ll contact you later."

"Alright."

Amon watched her leave before turning back toward his friends.

"Let’s go."

The group continued toward the academy.

After walking for some time, Seraphina glanced at her grandfather.

"Grandpa."

Alistair looked toward her.

"Hm?"

"You can leave from here. You don’t need to accompany us all the way to the academy."

Alistair chuckled.

"I’m afraid I’m not coming only to escort you."

Seraphina tilted her head.

"Then why?"

"I need to speak with Headmistress Isabel about what happened during your mission."

His expression became slightly more serious.

"There are several things she needs to know."

Especially the appearance of Alaric and Soren. This was no longer merely a student mission involving bandits.

Someone had targeted Seraphina and Amon. And whoever stood behind those attackers was still out there.

Seraphina understood what he meant.

"Alright."

Alistair smiled and gently patted her head.

"Come. Let’s not keep your headmistress waiting."

Together, the group continued toward the distant gates of Arcadia Academy.
