"This is quite a feast."

Amon happily cut another piece of steak and stuffed it into his mouth. His eyes practically lit up as he chewed.

"Damn... this is so good."

Marcus, who sat directly across from him, watched his table manners with increasing irritation.

"Boy... You’re sitting at a table full of nobles. At least try to eat like a civilized person."

Amon stopped chewing. He slowly looked around the dining table. It was already evening, and everyone had gathered inside the mansion’s luxurious dining hall for dinner.

Amon sat beside Scarlett. On his other side sat Seraphina, followed by Adelia.

Across from them were Aisha, Eliana, and Marcus. And naturally, at the head of the long dining table sat Princess Selena.

Amon swallowed his food. Then realization struck him.

"...Wait."

He pointed around the table.

"Now that I think about it... All of you really are nobles. And two being royal."

His expression became increasingly disturbed.

"Damn! How the hell did I end up surrounded by nobles?"

Eliana’s long elven ears twitched as a teasing smile appeared on her face.

"Probably because of your stupid personality."

Amon immediately glared at her.

"Tch! So you’re mocking me now?"

"She’s merely telling the truth." Aisha joined in with a huge grin. "She’s right. We simply decided you’re an entertaining man to keep around."

She leaned back comfortably.

"You’ve done an excellent job entertaining us so far...commoner."

Amon’s eyebrow twitched. He slowly turned toward the wolf beastwoman.

"You..."

Aisha’s grin widened. Amon decided not to waste his breath on her. Instead, he turned toward Seraphina. Then his eyes moved past her toward Adelia.

"Not everyone here is terrible."

He gestured toward the two women.

"There are still two genuinely kind women at this table. Two angels among a bunch of arrogant, racist nobles."

Silence.

Marcus’s fork stopped halfway toward his mouth.

"What did you just call us?"

Eliana frowned. "Who exactly are you calling racist?"

Aisha’s smile disappeared.

"Damn you! I’m not racist!"

Amon ignored them. Then Selena’s calm voice came from the head of the table.

"Amon."

"...Hm?"

He slowly turned toward her. The silver-haired princess stared at him with narrowed crimson eyes.

"You looked at Sera and Professor Adelia and called those two angels."

Amon suddenly sensed danger.

Selena tilted her head.

"So...What does that make me?"

"..."

Amon stiffened. Before he could recover, Scarlett’s voice came from directly beside him.

"And what about me?"

Amon’s heart sank. He slowly turned his head.

Scarlett was looking directly at him. Her expression was calm.

Far too calm.

"Am I merely some blood-sucking vampire to you, then?"

"..."

A drop of cold sweat rolled down Amon’s neck.

He looked at Selena. Then Scarlett. Then back at Selena.

Fuck.

He had somehow walked into a minefield entirely of his own creation.

"H-Haha!"

Amon gave both women the most innocent smile he could manage.

"Goodness! How could either of you think that?"

He placed a hand over his chest.

"You two are extremely important to me! How could I possibly insult either of you?"

Scarlett raised an eyebrow. Selena narrowed her eyes. Neither appeared convinced.

Amon’s smile became increasingly strained.

"Pfft!"

Adelia covered her mouth.

"Hahaha!"

Eliana immediately burst into laughter as well.

"You should’ve seen your face!"

"Hahaha!"

Aisha joined them. Even Seraphina couldn’t completely suppress the smile appearing on her lips.

Marcus leaned back in his chair and laughed with the obnoxious arrogance of a stereotypical young master villain.

"Hehehe! Scaredy-cat."

Amon immediately pointed at him.

"You shut the fuck up!"

That only made everyone laugh harder.

Even Scarlett eventually failed to maintain her serious expression, the corner of her lips curling upward.

Selena shook her head helplessly.

The elegant dining hall, which normally would have hosted quiet and formal noble dinners, became filled with laughter.

Amon sat in the middle of it all. He was humiliated and betrayed. Mocked by everyone he trusted. He slowly picked up another piece of steak and shoved it into his mouth.

’Fine.’

His dark eyes moved from one laughing face to another.

Marcus, Aisha, Eliana, Adelia, Selena and even Seraphina.

He memorized every single one.

’Laugh while you can.’

A sinister smile slowly appeared on his face.

’I’ll remember this. Every single one of you...One by one... I’ll have my revenge. I will face slap all of you.’

Scarlett noticed his expression.

"Amon."

"Hm?"

"What are you plotting?"

His sinister expression disappeared instantly.

"Nothing."

"..."

"I’m just enjoying my steak."

Scarlett stared suspiciously at him. Amon calmly took another bite.

’Operation Revenge begins tomorrow.’

After dinner, the group moved to one of the sitting rooms.

"Can I have a moment with you, please?" Scarlett approached Adelia and asked.

Adelia nodded and followed her.

When Amon asked what was going on, Scarlett simply dismissed him. "This is adult women’s talk. Don’t bother us."

Amon stared at her for a moment before giving up. He remained on the sofa with his friends while Adelia and Scarlett walked toward one of the large windows at the far end of the room, each holding a glass of wine.

The sitting room was on the second floor, and the cool night breeze drifted gently through the open window.

Outside, the moon was slowly rising into the night sky.

"What did you want to talk to me about, Scarlett?" Adelia asked curiously.

She couldn’t imagine what Scarlett wanted to discuss with her in private.

Scarlett didn’t answer immediately. Instead, she glanced over her shoulder at Amon, who was laughing and chatting with his friends.

Then she turned back to Adelia.

"I’ll be direct, Adelia."

"Okay..."

"Do you love Amon?"

"Cough!"

Adelia, who had been taking a sip of wine, nearly choked.

"Wh-What?!" Her face immediately flushed. "What do you mean, do I love Amon? Why would you suddenly ask me that?"

The red-haired vampire silently studied her flustered expression.

"So..." Scarlett narrowed her eyes slightly. "You’re saying you don’t love him?"

"No! Of course not!" Adelia hurriedly replied. "He’s like a student to me."

"Hmm..." Scarlett took another sip of her wine. "Then why did you go on a date with him? And why were you holding hands?"

Adelia opened her mouth. Then closed it. For several seconds, she desperately searched for a reasonable explanation.

"A-Amon insisted on it!" she finally blurted out. "And it wasn’t a date! We were just hanging out together. Nothing else!"

"Okay..." Scarlett nodded casually. "But why were you holding hands?"

"Because it was crowded!" Adelia immediately replied. "We didn’t want to get separated, so we held hands. Yes! That’s all it was."

By now, Adelia was becoming increasingly flustered.

Scarlett narrowed her eyes suspiciously before turning her gaze toward the moon outside.

"Well, it’s not like I particularly mind whether you love him or not."

Adelia blinked.

"What?"

She stared at Scarlett in surprise.

"You wouldn’t mind even if I loved him?" Adelia asked before quickly adding, "I mean, of course I don’t! I’m just asking why you wouldn’t mind."

Scarlett chuckled softly.

"I can’t stop someone from falling in love with another person. Trying to control someone’s feelings like that wouldn’t be right."

"So..." Adelia hesitated. "You’re saying it’s fine if I fall for him, but it wouldn’t be fine if I pursued him?"

"Hmm..." Scarlett swirled the wine in her glass thoughtfully. "Yeah. I did say something like that a few months ago."

She paused.

"But now... I don’t really mind."

Adelia’s eyes widened even further.

"Why?"

"Why?" Scarlett repeated with an amused smile. "Well... I can’t always be by his side. So if someone else were to genuinely love and care for him..."

Her crimson eyes settled directly on Adelia.

"Someone like you, for example... that might actually be helpful. You are also strong and at transcendent rank. Good at healing and medics. Very helpful to him."

Adelia stared at her.

"That’s... a really weird reason."

"Yes, it is."

Scarlett didn’t even bother denying it.

"But tell me..." A mischievous smile appeared on her lips. "Why do you look so curious about this? Are you perhaps happy to hear that you might have a chance?"

Adelia immediately stepped back, her face turning bright red as she frantically shook her head.

"No! No! No! That’s not it!"

"Hmm... Then everything is fine."

Scarlett gave her a sweet smile.

"I only asked because I was curious—and a little worried. Nothing more."

Yet, for some reason, that sweet smile reminded Adelia of a snake.

Not an actual snake, of course.

Rather, it reminded her of those cunning nobles who always wore pleasant smiles while secretly plotting something behind them.

"But I have to say..." Scarlett suddenly murmured. Her amethyst eyes slowly lowered toward Adelia’s chest.

Adelia immediately noticed where she was looking.

"Your breasts are about as big as mine," Scarlett remarked casually. "But because you’re shorter, they look even more prominent."

She took another sip of wine before adding with a teasing grin, "Amon must love them."

Adelia’s entire face burned with embarrassment.

"Scarlett!" she exclaimed. "You’re a noble lady! You shouldn’t talk about things like that!"

"Hehe~ Why not?" Scarlett giggled, clearly enjoying her reaction. "We’re both women, and we’re around the same age. What’s wrong with talking about something like this?"

Adelia could only stare at her in disbelief.

For some reason, Scarlett seemed far more troublesome than Amon tonight. She even thought that Scarlett might have some influence of Amon on her.
