Kai quickly climbed down from Jo’s back, pulled out his high-tech smartphone, and took a picture of the field of fire lilies.

"Young master!"

Jo immediately shifted back into his human form when he saw Kai running recklessly through the field of fire lilies. After all, Kai should have known that several fire komodo monsters were waiting in the area.

Kai threw his small dagger at them all—a dagger he’d already coated with a special poison to quickly weaken the monsters. It was a poison that caused anyone to pass out instantly upon contact.

This meant the monsters struck by the dagger would only pass out—they wouldn’t die.

The monsters possessed a kind of regenerative power that allowed them to heal their wounds quickly.

However, the poison Kai had applied would keep them unconscious for at least the next few hours.

The two of them had reached a large boulder, into which a magical fire sword—which looked incredibly cool—was embedded.

The sword was large, gleaming, and beautiful. Flames blazed around the stone.

However, when Kai approached and touched the sword, all the flames on the stone immediately went out. With ease, Kai pulled the fire magic sword out of the stone.

Jo stared in disbelief.

As far as Jo could remember, not just anyone could pull a magic sword out of its guardian stone.

"Wow, this sword is actually pretty light—I thought it would be heavy because of its size," said Kai, raising the sword facing the sky.

The sword’s glow looked absolutely stunning in the moonlight.

Suddenly, flames erupted from the sword, blazing beautifully.

"That’s amazing, young master!" exclaimed Jo, who was still recording Kaileon.

"Oh, Jo..."

Suddenly, Kai looked confused; his brow furrowed, and he lowered his sword.

"What’s wrong, young master?"

"I sensed that demon’s presence... but now it’s gone. It turns out it’s been watching me all along," Kai muttered. He stepped down from the rock, glancing around to check his surroundings.

"You mean the demon prince?"

Kai nodded in response to Jo’s question. He retrieved his smartphone, stowed it along with his sword in his dimensional storage, then pulled Jo’s arm to lead him out of the field of fire lilies.

"Let’s go back to my room."

A few seconds later, they were back in Kaileon’s room.

"Young Master..."

"I think I need to strengthen my detection magic, Jo... that demon prince is always following me. I don’t know if he’s using someone else’s body or hiding in the shadows. He makes me uneasy. It would be better if he faced me head-on," Kai muttered.
