The Supreme Village Doctor

Chapter 101 - 102: Urgent Rescue

Chapter 101: Chapter 102: Urgent Rescue

About forty-something minutes later, Aunt Rong arrived.

"Yun Meng hasn’t been resting well lately, so I brought this over." Zhang Rong was surprised by the scene. "What’s going on here?"

She handed a vial of liquid to Li Yang.

"I’ll explain when I have time!" Li Yang gave a wry smile. "Saving this person is my priority right now."

"Okay!" Aunt Rong nodded. "I’ll wait for you."

’If so many people weren’t watching, I’d have tossed a few flirtatious remarks her way.’

"Master, what is this?" Director Jin stepped forward at the opportune moment to ask.

"Director Jin, this is my exclusive medicine for treating scars!" Li Yang explained. "The most important thing with this young girl’s injury is preventing any scarring. This medicine of mine works wonders for that."

"Oh, then there’s nothing to worry about!" Director Jin nodded.

’Whatever a master of the Golden Gate Acupuncture Technique says must be right.’

Since even Director Jin kept quiet, the others certainly weren’t in a position to comment.

"Director Jin, come in and help me prepare the gauze!" Li Yang said.

"Okay!" Director Jin was overjoyed and followed Li Yang inside.

The gauze was soaked in the white liquid until saturated, then wrung out and finally wrapped around the wound.

By the time he finished everything, over an hour had passed.

Li Yang finally emerged.

"How is she?" the sturdy man quickly stepped forward to ask, his voice filled with anxiety.

"Sir, Ma’am, it’s impossible to get rid of the scars right away. Let’s check on her again tomorrow," Li Yang said seriously. "Here’s the plan. Ma’am, you stay here with your daughter. Sir, you’ll come with me to a hotel. And Miss Zhao, you and your friend will get a room for him. Right, and you two will be staying at the hotel as well."

"I’m not staying at a hotel!" Xiao Zhen immediately shook her head.

The sturdy man’s expression immediately grew wary.

Zhao Xuechu grabbed Xiao Zhen and nodded. "I understand."

She then turned to the sturdy man and said, "Don’t worry, sir. We’re not going to run."

It was only then that Xiao Zhen realized what was happening, and for once, she lowered her head.

"Alright, off you go!" Li Yang sighed in relief.

"Staying at a hotel?" Zhang Rong shot Li Yang a sideways glance as they walked out. "Why not stay at my place?"

That endlessly charming glance from Aunt Rong made Li Yang’s heart skip a beat. He barely managed to suppress the improper thoughts rising within him before saying with a grin, "Aunt Rong, that might not be the best idea. With so many people around, wouldn’t that be a bit too brazen?"

"What are you thinking!" Aunt Rong’s face flushed slightly as she scoffed. "I was just worried about you spending money."

Li Yang said "oh," then shook his head. "Don’t worry, I won’t be calling for any ’services’ at the hotel. I’m not spending that kind of money. But if I came to sleep at your place, would that be free?"

"You brat!" Zhang Rong was so angry she was speechless, and she slapped him hard on the back. "I try to be nice and this is how you repay me!"

Li Yang chuckled. "Aunt Rong, you’re beautiful even when you’re angry."

Zhang Rong was genuinely angry, but Li Yang’s words made her anger vanish. Still, she maintained a sour expression. "Cut the nonsense! If you don’t want to stay, then don’t. I’m leaving. I can’t believe I wasted so much time waiting for you!"

With that, Zhang Rong turned and left, swaying her plump bottom as she went.

The captivating rhythm of her sway sent a tremor through Li Yang.

"See?" Behind him, Xiao Zhen nudged Zhao Xuechu. "I told you he was a scumbag. Flirting with a woman like that... I mean, look how old she is!"

Zhao Xuechu shook her head. "It’s not our place to comment on their affairs."

But Li Yang had heard her. He couldn’t resist stopping to wait for them to catch up before retorting irritably, "What about it? So what if Aunt Rong is older? She’s still way better looking than you!"

"You!" Xiao Zhen was furious. She planted her hands on her hips and pointed at Li Yang.

Li Yang ignored her and turned to Zhao Xuechu. "So what happened?"

"Well, driving at night is a pain, and I also wanted a chance to get to know your township better, so we decided to stay the night. Back at the inn, the dog seemed restless, so we took it out for a walk. When we got to that area, we saw the little girl playing. I don’t know what set it off, but the dog just went crazy and attacked her. We couldn’t stop it."

Zhao Xuechu shivered with lingering fear as she recounted the event. "Luckily, the girl’s family got there in time and killed the dog. If they hadn’t, it really could have bitten her to death."

"You really can’t blame me! I don’t know what made the dog go crazy, I couldn’t hold it back!" Xiao Zhen said defensively.

"Have you forgotten what I told you?" Li Yang said sternly. "I said you couldn’t control that dog, but you wouldn’t believe me. You’re lucky it didn’t turn into a major disaster this time. Otherwise, you’d really be in for it."

"Why are you being so harsh!" Xiao Zhen was starting to get angry.

Zhao Xuechu said seriously, "Zhenzhen, he did warn you."

"It was just a lucky guess!" Xiao Zhen retorted, unconvinced. "How could he possibly know? He was just spouting nonsense!"

"Spouting nonsense?" Li Yang sneered. "I don’t know who gave you that dog, but I can tell you this: whoever trained it used brutal methods. That’s what made it so vicious. You’d be wise to stop associating with people like that. If you don’t, you’ll be the one paying the price."

A thought struck Zhao Xuechu.

"Utter nonsense! What do you take them for?" Xiao Zhen dismissed his words entirely. "You think everyone is a backwater peasant like you?!"
