Chapter 144: Chapter 145: Mountain Villa Design
Li Yang looked at Xia Lian with anticipation.
Xia Lian understood what he meant and shot him an exasperated glare. "You think you know more than me?"
Li Yang said with a serious expression, "Of course I do. It’s modeled after a person, after all... I’m a man, so of course I know more about it than you!"
Xia Lian felt like she was about to cough up a mouthful of blood. ’A kid who hasn’t even hit puberty dares to flirt with me.’
"No, Aunt Lian, do you know how to use it? Do you want me to teach you...?"
"Get out, get out, get out..." No matter how bold Xia Lian usually was, she was starting to feel embarrassed. She quickly shooed Li Yang away. "What nonsense are you spouting? Scram!"
Only then did Li Yang leave, satisfied.
Back at the small clinic, Zhou Liyun came over.
"Sister-in-law Liyun, how are things?" Li Yang asked.
"Not bad!" Zhou Liyun said with a smile. "In a few days, once the village committee office renovations are done, I’ll be able to relax a bit. Oh, right, Xiaoyang, let me ask you something. I have a few empty rooms at my place. Do you think it’s a good idea for me to turn them into an inn? Just tell me, do you think more people will come to our village to stay in the future?"
"Of course, you can!" Li Yang said earnestly. "You could definitely open an inn. A few rooms would be enough to start."
"So you’re saying people will keep coming here to stay?" Zhou Liyun asked, a hint of expectation in her voice.
"They will." Li Yang thought for a moment before speaking. "There definitely will be. You can rest assured about that. The anglers’ center is already under construction, and it won’t take long to finish."
"Then I get it!" Zhou Liyun nodded. "I’ll go back and tidy up those rooms. I’ll have Brother Xu get a couple of guys to put down some new flooring and paint the walls. Fifty yuan a night, you know."
Li Yang smiled and nodded. "Exactly. It’s a viable plan, don’t worry."
The next day, Liuwan called Li Yang. "You’re in the village, right? We’ve finished the blueprints for your school. We’re about to head over to show you, and while we’re there, we need to check out the proposed site for your resort."
"Great!" Li Yang was so happy he could have jumped for joy.
He immediately called Shang Hongyun. "Boss Lady, are you free? You need to get to my village, quick! The designers are already here. You have to help me look over the resort designs."
Two hours later, both Liuwan and Shang Hongyun had arrived.
Liuwan went to the school first to present the design.
Everyone was very satisfied; basically, no changes were needed.
After that, Liuwan made his way to the shore of Bishui Lake.
A cool breeze blew in from the lake, feeling especially refreshing.
Even though it was the hottest time of the day, the air felt wonderfully comfortable.
"Huh, look at all the people fishing," Shang Hongyun said with some surprise when she saw them.
"I found a way to get them here..." Li Yang said with a sly grin. "To fish in our village."
"No wonder you’re so confident about building a resort..." Shang Hongyun nodded. "It seems you’ve been planning this for a while."
"Where did you pick for the site?" Liuwan asked.
"Right here!" Li Yang led them to a spot.
"Look, there’s a small grove of trees here. I’ll build a road through it to the lake. We can build the main building here, closer to the water. And over here is a sandy beach where guests can hang out. I’ll get some jet skis and stuff so guests can play some water sports. It should be really popular in the middle of summer."
"That’s a great idea!" Shang Hongyun was already getting excited.
These conditions were much better than at her own resort.
Liuwan also nodded. Li Yang’s idea was feasible, but whether they could actually attract guests was still a major question.
"The conditions here are indeed excellent, but I have to warn you—if no one comes, you’ll just be losing money, no matter how well you build it. You understand?"
"I understand!" Li Yang nodded. "But don’t you worry. I wouldn’t take on a thankless task like that. Since I’ve decided to do this, I’m naturally going to do it to the best of my ability. You can rest assured."
Liuwan smiled and nodded.
"Here’s what I’m thinking. I want to build a main building here to serve as our hotel, with a capacity for at least a hundred people. Next to the main building, we’ll construct a dormitory for the staff. The bottom two floors of the main building will be our restaurant. Oh, and you’ll need to build a few restaurants for us that extend out over the lake, like lakeside pavilions. The view will be better, and they should be very popular..."
As Li Yang spoke, Shang Hongyun chimed in, adding to his ideas.
Liuwan listened carefully, jotting down all of Li Yang’s requirements.
"Alright..." After they finished, Liuwan nodded and said, "Our surveyors will come over soon to take measurements. We’ll create a design for you after that."
"Manager Liu, my main concern is speed!" Li Yang reminded him. "Summer vacation isn’t far off. I’m hoping this project can be ready by the end of summer break."
Liuwan said with some surprise, "That... might be too tight a schedule for a project this size."
"Just do your best," Li Yang said earnestly. "In any case, it would be ideal if we could make it."
