The Supreme Village Doctor

Chapter 145 - 146: Selling Water

Chapter 145: Chapter 146: Selling Water

Liuwan understood. Li Yang wanted to cash in on the summer break.

"Alright, we’ll get on it as soon as possible," Liuwan said with a nod. "Summer break isn’t here yet, so we can’t start work on your village’s elementary school anyway. We still have to wait. If you can confirm your project, we can start on it first. But do you have that much money?"

The mention of money caught Li Yang’s attention. "How much would it cost?"

"We’d have to do a detailed estimate, but it won’t be cheaper than the school," Liuwan said with a smile. "It won’t be less than one and a half million."

’Not less than one and a half million!’

Li Yang felt a pang of heartache.

He’d actually made one and a half million, and then some, from selling the medicinal wine lately.

But that money was supposed to be for paving the roads! He hadn’t expected to have to spend it again so soon.

’It hurt to part with it!’

"Let me see what I can do for you..." Liuwan, knowing he didn’t have much money, added with a smile, "And you don’t have to pay it all at once. I’ll do my best to trim the budget for you."

"Deal!" Li Yang nodded.

Before long, Liuwan and his men had left.

Shang Hongyun, who was standing there, looked particularly happy. "I think I should invest here, too. What do you say? Let me put in some money?"

Li Yang glanced at her. "What’s this? Offering up your people wasn’t enough, so now you want to offer up your money, too?"

Shang Hongyun giggled. "Just say yes or no. I’m already throwing money your way, and I’m all yours. Don’t you trust me yet?"

Li Yang didn’t respond.

"I’ll tell you what, I’ll put up three hundred thousand," Shang Hongyun said seriously. "I only want a ten-percent stake, for dividends only. And I won’t interfere in your operations. How about it?"

"Are you crazy?" Li Yang was baffled. "Didn’t you say you weren’t optimistic about this place?"

Shang Hongyun didn’t answer. "Just tell me—are you in or not?"

It dawned on Li Yang. This woman was most likely doing this for his sake.

"If you’re really determined to throw your money away here, I have nothing to say..." Li Yang said. "Just make sure you’ve thought it through."

Shang Hongyun broke into a smile. "Alright, I get it."

Soon after, Shang Hongyun also left.

Just as they left, Qin Susu arrived, pulling up in her car.

"I heard Wu Juan and her people were arrested! My dad is so happy back home. He can finally stop worrying," Qin Susu called out cheerfully as she approached.

Li Yang smiled. "Yeah, it worked out. They were just unlucky that I found their location and had them arrested. Hey, Dahuang, you’re here again!"

Upon seeing Li Yang, Dahuang immediately trotted over like a suck-up, nuzzling against him affectionately.

This wounded Qin Susu. "You rotten dog! I feed you delicious treats every day, and you’re never this nice to me."

"By the way, how’s the bottling plant coming along?" Li Yang knew work had started at Cold Water Lake, but he hadn’t been keeping track of the specific progress.

He only knew that a mountain path had been cleared from the village leading to it, and it would be paved with concrete soon.

"The water quality test results are in, and they’re top-notch!" Qin Susu said, pleased. "We’ve already compared it to the other brands on the market. Nothing else even comes close. We can safely say our quality is the best."

Li Yang nodded. "That’s great."

"We can start bottling very soon!" Qin Susu said, her expression turning all business. "We might be able to start production in another week."

"And you’re supposed to be the big boss," Qin Susu said, her anger flaring up again at the thought. "You don’t manage a single thing, do you? You just dumped all this on me. What kind of boss are you?"

Li Yang felt a bit helpless. "I thought you were managing things perfectly well, so I didn’t want to interfere. Fine, then. Tell me what you want me to do."

That seemed to satisfy her. "What do you think? We’re about to have a product, but sales are a huge problem. I’ve solved all the production issues. Now it’s time to deal with sales. It’s your turn to step up!"

’Sales!’

Li Yang got it. It was a major problem. It would be a disaster to produce all that water with no way to sell it.

"I’ve already produced a batch of samples. I was hoping to use them for a sales push. In fact, I’ll leave this matter to you. You can go handle it!" Qin Susu said.

Li Yang noticed her guilty expression. "You already tried, didn’t you?"

Qin Susu looked awkward. "Hmph! Those people don’t know a good thing when they see it. They said our water isn’t a known brand and refused to stock it. It made me furious."

Li Yang mulled it over. That was certainly going to be an issue.

"How about this..." Li Yang said after a moment’s thought. "I think we could run an ad on the city’s TV station. The cost shouldn’t be too high. On top of that, I can take on the sales role and push our water myself."

"An ad!" Qin Susu considered it, then said with some worry, "Won’t that be too big of an investment? I’m afraid we don’t have enough money!"

"Let me check it out first," Li Yang said after thinking it over. "I’ll go see if I can negotiate on the price with the TV station."
