Chapter 199: Chapter 200: Making a Delivery

The loud ROARING was hard to ignore and quickly drew a crowd of villagers.

On the shore, they pointed and chattered amongst themselves.

"What is that thing?"

"I’ve heard about them. They’re called... what was it? Jet skis!"

"Jet skis? We barely have any regular motorcycles in the village! Why would Xiaoyang buy something like that?"

"I don’t know. I heard Xiaoyang say he’s planning to use them to attract people from the city. He wants to see if he can get a group of them to visit."

The crowd chattered on the shore, watching Li Yang zip across the lake’s surface on the jet ski.

He wasn’t used to it at first, so Li Yang didn’t dare head for the middle of the lake. He just stuck to the area near the shore.

Gao Xin Xue was a bit scared at first, but she soon grew excited.

Her work schedule had been packed for years. After her divorce, she’d poured all her energy into her job. She hadn’t let loose like this in ages, and a thrill of joy shot through her.

When they had their fill of fun, Li Yang steered the jet ski back to the shore.

’There’s no way people won’t love this!’ Li Yang’s confidence swelled.

"Xiaoyang, what did you buy these things for?" a villager stepped forward to ask.

Li Yang said with a grin, "They’re for our guests to use."

"Guests?" The villagers glanced around. There were still plenty of anglers about, but... ’Those guests probably wouldn’t be interested in something like this.’

"Not for them," Li Yang said with a smile. "I’m planning to bring in a new crowd, people who’ll come to our village for fun. What do you think of that?"

"Of course that’s a good thing!" The villagers were pleased.

Everyone had figured it out by now. The only way their village could develop was if people came to visit. Otherwise, it was a hopeless dream.

"Xiaoyang, are you trying to develop tourism?" one of the villagers asked. "That’s what they’re always talking about on TV."

Li Yang burst out laughing. "Never mind what they say on TV. Our village has some great things going for it. For now, you all just focus on what you’re doing. If I can bring people here, we’ll all have a chance to grow and make some money."

A wave of delight washed over the villagers.

If Li Yang had said this before, no one would have believed him. But things were different now.

The village had undergone quite a few changes.

Anglers were staying over, a water bottling plant had opened at Cold Water Lake to sell water to the city, and now Li Yang was planning to build a mountain resort... These were all major developments.

"Okay, we’ll be looking forward to it then!" The others laughed.

After seeing them off, Li Yang brought over a few large posts and moored the jet skis to them before finally heading back to shore.

"So, the jet skis are here..." Gao Xin Xue began. "What’s your development plan now?"

"We’ve got the ’play’ part covered. It’s only one jet ski, but it’s a start. Next up is the ’eat’ part," Li Yang said earnestly. "I need you to develop a new menu. Oh, and can you hire a few chefs? We can start by serving food at the Anglers’ Center, then move them to the resort once it’s built. Our main draws for now will be gourmet food and the jet ski. I’m going to see if I can head into the city and entice some people to come out here for fun."

Gao Xin Xue nodded. "Are you sure you can get people to come?"

"Don’t you worry," Li Yang said, full of conviction. "I have nothing but confidence!"

Gao Xin Xue could only agree.

After seeing Gao Xin Xue off, Li Yang grabbed the pills and prepared to head into the city.

Li Yang first called Zhang Rong and asked her to gather everyone at her villa.

By the time Li Yang arrived, Zhang Rong’s villa was already filled with people—the same group from the last dinner.

"Hello, ladies..." Li Yang said, beaming as he went to greet them.

"Xiaoyang, did you really get the medicine for us?" they asked.

Li Yang nodded. "They’re all ready. Here, let me hand them out!"

As he spoke, Li Yang took out the pills and placed them on the table. "A single course of treatment is five pills. Consider this first batch my treat."

"We couldn’t possibly..." Xiaoling began to say.

Li Yang smiled and shook his head. "Just don’t tell anyone I gave them to you for free. Thank you all for your generosity. Think of it as my way of returning your kindness. Sister Rong and I are planning to open a small clinic for clients like you. If you could refer some new customers to me in the future, I’d be incredibly grateful."

Hearing this, they nodded in agreement.

Zhang Rong was dumbfounded. ’This little rascal! I haven’t even agreed to this yet!’

’But now that he’s said it, it seems I don’t have a choice but to agree.’

"Please help spread the word for me," Li Yang said with a smile. "If it works well for you, feel free to recommend it to your friends. They can get the medicine from Sister Rong then."

"Okay!" The women were quite pleased. They chatted with Li Yang and Zhang Rong for a while longer before leaving one by one.

"You little rascal, I never said I was opening a clinic..." It wasn’t until they had all left that Aunt Rong finally spoke up.
