He kept at it until evening, but Li Yang still hadn’t found a company with a suitable quote. Finally, mentally and physically drained, he felt like just going home and calling it a day.

That evening, however, he received a call from the receptionist, Yang Lin.

"So, how did it go? Did you reach a deal?" Yang Lin asked.

Li Yang was touched, but he shook his head. "No. The prices they quoted were even higher than your company’s."

"Have you eaten?"

The next day at work, Yang Lin sent Li Yang a message with the contact information for the person in charge.

"Mai Hao!" Li Yang read the name from the information she sent. It included his address and phone number.

’Time to go see him!’ Li Yang immediately got out of bed.

Nowadays, Lao Xu handled the vegetable deliveries, Zhou Liyun managed the vegetable patch, and Liu Jinsheng kept an eye on the fishing spot, so Li Yang was free to focus on this one task.

But before Liuwan could respond, the middle-aged man burst out laughing. "I have to say, Manager Liu, your company is really something else. You’ll take any client you can get. No wonder Manager Mai refuses to work with you. I mean, look at this guy... This is killing me."

Liuwan could only manage a wry smile. She looked at Li Yang and said seriously, "That’s enough. Don’t waste your energy. The project has already been awarded to this gentleman, President Zhang. He’s just here to rub it in my face."
