Chapter 49: Chapter 49: The Invisible Chain

The question of Lucien sank into silence, as 000 did not reply. However, the answer manifested almost immediately. Lucien understood perfectly well that there was absolutely nothing wrong with himself.

Having just woken up in the middle of the night, his mind still frustrated by the system’s ambiguity, Lucien felt the arms from behind instinctively tighten around his waist. Dominic Vance forcefully pulled the youth flush against his scorching chest, then lowered his head, burying his face in the hollow of the youth’s nape.

The blistering breath puffed directly onto the sensitive skin of his neck.

The side effects suddenly flared up much more intensely than before at this moment. Without the man needing to do anything further, the waist of Lucien instantly went soft, his legs turning to jelly without a single ounce of strength, and his heart pounded relentlessly like war drums. The most terrifying aspect was that, deep within his consciousness, he actually found this physical contact incredibly comforting.

[The more intimate the contact, the higher the body’s dependency becomes.] 000 chimed in right on time to add fuel to the fire.

Lucien gritted his teeth inwardly: "Shut your mouth."

Motherfucker, I know you are an erotic system, but am I not your host? Do you have any other use besides selling me out?

Dominic Vance was still half-awake and half-asleep right now, but his hands were extremely restless.

He began to knead the slender waist, caressing the soft abdomen, and then playfully interlaced his fingers into the spaces between the fingers of Lucien. This action carried absolutely no sexual connotation; rather, it resembled an addict satisfying a thirst for the sensation of touching the youth. He was addicted to the feeling of possessing this smooth skin.

In particular, he was utterly captivated by the trembling reactions of Lucien.

As long as Lucien curled up slightly, his eyelashes fluttering in panic, or a faint sob escaping from his throat, the possessive desire within the eyes of Dominic Vance would surge fiercely by another magnitude.

The next morning, the late sunlight streamed through the gaps in the curtains.

Lucien was woken up by the man to have breakfast. The doctor had said he needed to ensure his nutrition so his body could recover. However, having just woken up, his entire body was falling apart, so lethargic that he did not even want to move a finger, resolutely refusing to eat.

Even though Dominic Vance had brought the breakfast right to the bed, Lucien still did not want to eat.

Dominic Vance patiently coaxed him for a few words, but seeing the youth constantly avoiding it, he immediately lost his inherent patience. He decisively reached out, scooping Lucien up to sit neatly on his lap.

One of his hands clamped firmly around the youth’s waist, while the other hand held the spoon to personally feed him.

Under the influence of that damned side effect, the moment he was embraced, the body of Lucien automatically went limp. Every time the man leaned down to kiss his messy hair, his face would uncontrollably flush hot, and his mind would even become so muddled that he unconsciously leaned completely against Dominic’s shoulder.

The two of them intertwined with one another, the space overflowing with an ambiguous atmosphere, as warm as a genuine married couple.

While feeding the youth, the gaze of Dominic Vance suddenly halted.

The deep red hickeys on the neck, along with the slightly bluish teeth marks on the frail shoulder, were distinctly visible. He stared intently, a look of utmost amusement appearing in his eyes.

He casually put down the spoon, using his rough fingers to deliberately pull the collar of the bathrobe of Lucien even lower down. As he admired his masterpiece, he slowly caressed over those marks.

"I made all of these, I love seeing you look like this." He lowered his hoarse voice, half like a whisper, half like an assertion of ownership.

That gaze harbored a frantic, naked, and twisted satisfaction.

On the surface, Lucien only knew how to let his ears turn bright red, feigning shyness and turning away. But deep down, he was silently cursing, what a lunatic. To be honest, there had been several times when Lucien had to ask 000 if the male lead of this world had a history of insanity. Why were his actions so inconsistent every now and then, just like a schizophrenic?

Unfortunately, 000 said there was none; it might be because this world was currently experiencing bugs, so the settings of the male lead would occasionally have some minor issues.

No wonder they had to find someone for his salvation, with a male lead like this, the entire world would be ruined.

However, the danger of this madman did not stop there at all. While Lucien was sitting on his lap eating breakfast, because the side effects made his body overly sensitive, he slightly shifted his waist, trying to find a more comfortable position to sit. As a result, he accidentally rubbed right against the sensitive spot that was stirring restlessly beneath the man.

Dominic Vance froze immediately, his entire body stiffening. The atmosphere in the room changed in an instant.

He tightly squeezed the youth’s waist, pressing him forcefully into his embrace, his gravelly voice dripping with danger: "Are you doing that on purpose?"

Lucien widened his eyes; he truly did not do it on purpose! But his bodily reaction right now was so agonizingly soft, leaving him with no way to push the man away.

Dominic Vance did not pin him down to do it for real. He merely held the youth firmly anchored on his lap, forcing him to clearly feel the scorching hardness beneath. He buried his head into the youth’s neck, simultaneously kissing ravenously and grinding their bodies against each other through the thin layer of fabric.

This half-measure of intimacy was even more blistering and tormenting than making love for real. It was not resolved at all, and the one who had to endure the greatest stifling frustration right now was exactly Dominic Vance.

While being tightly held and kissed by the man, Lucien suddenly realized something incredibly dangerous.

Merely having his waist caressed by him, being kissed on the neck, or simply being held close to his chest, his body would automatically surrender, going limp without him having to utilize his acting skills anymore. Everything was slipping completely out of his control.

Right at this moment, 000 jumped out again to pour oil on the flame: [Advising the host. If you continue to depend on these physical contacts, it is highly likely that upon distancing yourself from the male lead, you will experience severe withdrawal reactions.]

Lucien: "..."

For the first time in his life, he truly wanted to smash this damned system to pieces with his own hands.

"Do you still want me to continue doing missions in other worlds? Creating what kind of crazy setting is this?"

[It only makes your body more sensitive; when you arrive at another world, there will be someone else to ’feed you full,’ hehe.] The tone of 000 was incredibly frivolous: [Besides, wait until you actually clear this world first before thinking about that.]

You motherfucker!

Lucien cursed inwardly, and then had to dedicate his energy to dealing with that man in heat.

Following that maddening grinding session, Dominic Vance finally relented and let go of his lips. He panted heavily, wrapping his arms tightly around Lucien himself to suppress the boiling lust within his body.

He leaned down, administering a punishment by biting forcefully into the youth’s neck, before whispering in a low voice: "So good. Do you want anything? I will give it to you."

Lucien initially intended to say he did not need anything. However, the next second, he suddenly changed his mind. He decided to try taking advantage of this man’s crazed pampering and possessiveness.

Shrinking his neck back, he spoke in a small, coquettish voice: "I want to go out..."

This request was exceedingly important, because ever since the day Dominic Vance carried him back from the roadside, all of his activities had been strictly confined within the boundaries of this bedroom.

Hearing this, the brows of Dominic Vance instantly knitted tightly together. He did not like this in the slightest. For some unknown reason, he just wanted to hide the youth away, preventing anyone else from laying eyes on him. Yet, as he gazed down at the limp youth, obediently relying completely on his chest, he simply found no way to voice a refusal.

"Fine, I will take you." Dominic Vance finally compromised.

However, before stepping out the door, the man wrapped his arms around Lucien from behind again. He took out an exquisite bracelet—which Lucien guessed to be exceedingly expensive given its incredibly meticulous craftsmanship—and personally fastened it onto the youth’s wrist.

Dominic Vance leaned close to his ear: "Did I not mention buying you a gift the other day? I really did not know what to buy, but coincidentally my secretary informed me of a charity auction, so I bought the grand finale item for you here."

Lucien lowered his head to gaze at the sparkling object gently tightening around his wrist. The frigid metallic chain touched his warm flesh.

It was supposedly a gift, but Lucien understood perfectly well that wearing this chain was no different from declaring to the high society outside that he was the person of Dominic Vance. He had won it from a charity auction, a place where there was absolutely no shortage of wealthy individuals. So now, seeing it appear on his wrist, everyone would understand the value of this object and what its true meaning was.

This was not an ordinary gift in the slightest; it was an invisible chain.

However... Lucien broke into a smile, his eyes curving into crescents: "Thank you, I love it."

It was merely a binding chain, Lucien honestly did not mind it much. But if Miles Sinclair were to see it...

He guessed, that guy would simply go insane.
