Chapter 50: Chapter 50: The Canary in the Gilded Cage (1)

After Lucien obediently wore the chain that Dominic Vance had gifted him, even pretending to be utterly delighted by it, the man felt immensely satisfied. And so, Dominic Vance actually took Lucien out for a leisurely stroll.

Their destination this time was nothing like the romance novels that Lucien often read, where the male lead would take his lover to a bustling shopping mall to enjoy the lively atmosphere. Dominic Vance brought Lucien to an exceedingly exclusive private shopping estate; according to the information provided by 000, this was a high-end commercial district reserved strictly for the upper echelons of society, a place where ordinary people were absolutely forbidden to set foot.

Naturally, the brands situated in this area consisted entirely of top-tier luxury goods.

At first, Lucien had assumed that this man was simply in the mood to take him on a shopping spree. However, after walking for a while, Lucien realized that Dominic Vance was genuinely just walking him around like a pet.

Yeah, how the hell was this any different from walking a dog just to show it off?

It was glaringly obvious that Dominic Vance did not care much about the actual shopping. He merely revelled in the sensation of leading the youth by his side. Was this the bizarre psychology of the wealthy elite? Did he usually walk Miles Sinclair around like this on a regular basis?

While wandering aimlessly between several storefronts, Lucien called out silently in his mind, "000."

Surprisingly, this damn system responded incredibly fast today: [What is the matter, Host?]

"Does the male lead of this world truly not have any underlying psychological issues?"

The voice of 000 replied in a rather flippant tone: [He really does not have any, Host, you have asked this question several times already. You have to be a little sympathetic, holding it in for nearly thirty years before finally tasting the pleasures of sex, it is completely normal for him to be a bit easily aroused.]

"Are you entirely sure about that?" Lucien replied while casting a disdainful sideways glance at the arm Dominic Vance currently had wrapped tightly around his waist: "I feel like this man is not only schizophrenic but also suffers from severe skin hunger. Would it kill him to take his hands off my body for just one moment?"

[That is not skin hunger, he is simply obsessed with you, Host.]

"I think you are useless as hell. Do you and that other serious guy take shifts or something? Whenever there is a task, that solemn one comes out to answer me, but whenever I actually need information, they let you out to harass me."

000 played dumb, not even bothering to answer him.

Damn it.

Meanwhile, this guy Dominic Vance kept his arm draped around the youth’s waist, acting as if he were thoroughly addicted to the touch. From the moment they stepped out of the house, to being in the car, to setting foot in this exclusive area, all the way into the elevator, that hand had not left his waist for more than a few minutes.

Even a clingy child attached to its mother would not go to such extremes, and furthermore, Lucien definitely could not have given birth to a shameless bastard like this man.

What was even more infuriating was the fact that he was still within the three-day window of executing the side mission branch, and because of that, his body was still heavily suffering from the lingering side effects. Consequently, just the mere sensation of that man’s hand resting lightly against his shoulder was enough to make Lucien’s legs go slightly weak, and every single time Dominic Vance leaned in close, the tips of the young man’s ears would turn as bright red as a ripe tomato.

His entire body would heat up as well.

Damn this fraudulent system!

Nevertheless, this current predicament made Lucien feel as though he were no different from a captive canary being kept by Dominic Vance.

At this moment, the two of them happened to step into a high-end menswear boutique, where Dominic Vance personally selected various garments and forced Lucien to go try them on.

In the beginning, everything remained quite normal with crisp white dress shirts and lightweight, thin sweaters. But as time went on, Dominic Vance’s aesthetic tastes became increasingly outrageous. He started tossing translucent silk shirts with plunging necklines into Lucien’s hands, along with skin-tight trousers that perfectly clung to his long, straight legs.

Lucien held the incredibly flimsy silk shirt in his hands, the corner of his mouth twitching uncontrollably: "What kind of style... are you picking out?"

In truth, what puzzled Lucien the most was why something like this would even appear in a prestigious place like this? Just looking at this outfit, how was it any different from something custom-prepared for a gigolo?

As for Dominic Vance, he remained remarkably nonchalant: "Just try on a bunch of different styles. I have a feeling you will look beautiful in them, put them on and let me see."

Lucien could only sigh in reluctant acceptance, carrying the clothes into the fitting room area. However, the moment his hand touched the buttons of his shirt, he saw the man following right behind him, effectively blocking the doorway of the fitting room.

Naturally, the door behind them had already been firmly shut.

"What are you... doing in here?"

"You just go ahead and change, I am not going to do anything to you." Dominic Vance said, his eyes slowly sweeping over Lucien’s entire body, "There is not a single part I have not seen already, so there is no need to be shy."

Motherfucking son of a bitch!

Whispering curses under his breath, Lucien still had to feign deep embarrassment as he unbuttoned his own shirt.

Dominic Vance stood directly behind him, and instead of offering any actual help, the man’s hands began to sculpt every single inch of Lucien’s skin and flesh. He smoothed out the messy hair, slowly adjusted the drooping collar, and then personally buttoned every single button for Lucien. Throughout this entire process, those fingers consistently and deliberately grazed across the waist, caressed the hips, and occasionally squeezed lightly at the nape of Lucien’s neck.

Caught between the lingering side effects of the system and the teasingly playful provocations of the man, Lucien’s entire body melted into a puddle of water, forcing him to lean completely against the mirror just to remain standing upright.
