The System Keeps Making Me Do Indecent Missions [BL, R18]
Chapter 71: Drowning in DesireChapter 71: Chapter 71: Drowning in Desire
The conversation between Dominic Vance and his mother did not last too long. Primarily, the man merely wanted to announce that he intended to change his fiancé. Naturally, he was not begging his mother for permission, but rather needed her to speak with his father.
It was a bit complicated, but Dominic Vance did not particularly like talking to his father.
After finishing up, Dominic Vance stood on the balcony, gazing down at the street below for a little while longer. He had returned home before nightfall completely set in, and now the entire city was illuminated with lights. Truthfully, the man’s mother had not guessed incorrectly. Dominic Vance did not think he was in love, nor did he believe he harbored any particularly special feelings for Lucien.
Perhaps it was simply because he considered Lucien to be his own person, so he disliked it when others casually touched or insulted the boy. Initially, he had not wanted to touch Miles Sinclair’s position, as he also understood the benefits involved. Changing partners meant that a great deal of effort would have to be expended to adjust many things.
Dominic Vance, on the other hand, understood clearly that he did not need to waste such effort. With his status, what did it matter if he married the younger brother and then maintained an ambiguous relationship with the older brother? He was more than capable of keeping a few extra lovers.
It was just a pity that Miles Sinclair or the Sinclair family were not smart enough. The more they made a fuss about everything, the more annoyed it made Dominic Vance feel. He began to grow frustrated with the news that constantly surfaced, as it not only affected Lucien but also inadvertently impacted Dominic Vance’s own business.
It was true that he could use his power and money to resolve everything, but after all, doing business required a solid media image. No matter how much money he spent, once certain things appeared on the internet, they would inevitably catch the attention of a few people. Opponents might even seize that opportunity to compete against the Vance Group.
It was not a massive problem, but it had caused Dominic Vance’s father to just give him a severe scolding.
He returned home, only to see that little one so deeply hurt that Lucien had been sobbing all day, leaving the boy’s eyes completely swollen. Dominic Vance kept insisting to himself that he had absolutely no feelings for Lucien, completely treating the youth as nothing more than a plaything. Yet, he had no way to explain why he felt a pang of heartache upon seeing Lucien’s heartbroken appearance.
Dominic Vance felt that this issue was far too complicated, and he did not want to dwell on it any further.
Dominic Vance stood contemplating for a moment before returning to the bedroom. By the time he pushed the door open and stepped inside, Lucien was already awake. The youth sat huddled on the massive bed, arms wrapping around his knees, soft hair wildly tangled from sleep. His eyes were still swollen and red, eyelashes still catching traces of tears that had not yet completely dried. He looked out the window, where the city lights cast faint, ethereal patches of illumination, appearing as lost and desolate as a forgotten porcelain doll in an overly spacious room.
Hearing the sound of the door opening, he turned his head. The moment his eyes met the man at the door, Lucien slightly lowered his gaze. Dominic Vance could not clearly discern what that look meant; he only felt that those usually sparkling almond eyes had entirely lost their light.
"I thought you had left." Lucien whispered, his voice small and slightly hoarse from crying too much.
Dominic Vance let out a heavy sigh, walking over to sit on the edge of the bed before reaching out to pull Lucien’s entire body into his embrace. Dominic Vance also did not understand why he was acting this way, but upon seeing the utterly despairing look in Lucien’s eyes, he suddenly felt profoundly uncomfortable.
"I will handle this matter, so you can rest assured. Do not overthink things anymore."
Lucien buried his head in the crook of the man’s neck. His body was still experiencing rejection symptoms, likely because system 000 had not yet fully resolved everything. And so, he simply let it be, remaining utterly limp as he leaned into the man’s embrace.
Dominic Vance raised a hand to lift the boy’s chin, forcing those red, teary eyes to meet his own. Then, the man stared at Lucien for a very long time, as if he were trying to search for something within the depths of the youth’s shimmering, tear-stained eyes. Suddenly, Dominic Vance leaned down, placing a gentle kiss upon his forehead.
With this man suddenly being so profoundly gentle, Lucien felt quite unaccustomed to it. His actions were as though he was treating something fragile that desperately needed to be cherished.
"Do not pay any mind to those words, you know they deliberately said such things just to attack you."
Lucien blinked, and another teardrop rolled down his cheek. He said nothing, only giving a soft nod, as obedient as a little kitten that had just been comforted by its owner after a terrible fright.
Dominic Vance looked at him for a while longer. Reason told the man that he could leave now, that it was not entirely necessary to spend so much time here. But his heart still felt somewhat uneasy, and then, as if spurred by some unseen compulsion, he bowed his head to kiss those lips. The kiss was not rushed like the way he usually acted whenever he pinned Lucien down on the bed.
It was slow and lingering, yet the arms that wrapped increasingly tighter around the boy revealed his overbearing nature, just as they always had before.
The deeply entwined kiss eventually morphed into a blazing inferno of passion. Lucien was in such a daze that he did not even realize when all of his clothes had fallen to the floor.
"Mmph... hic..."
