"Have you gone mad?!"
Ella shouted from the side, but Noah paid her no mind.
One moment he was in the room, and the next thing Ella knew... she was left alone with Fiul being the only other living soul present within the four—three walls of the room.
"Should we help her?"
Despite the sudden turn of events, Fiul had quickly composed himself, waiting for Ella’s orders.
Ella closed her eyes, trying to suppress the panic that had flooded her heart a few moments earlier.
"No... that would make Victoria look weaker, and we don’t want students to view her as some tyrant."
Though Ella said the words, she couldn’t help but feel anxious.
Why was it that Victoria always ended up fighting against the first years, and Silver 3 no less?
A Gold core fighting a Silver 3 and losing in the end had already been an event of destruction for Victoria’s image in the academy.
It was only because her opponent was Kael... someone who was viewed as an absolute monster in the academy, that the students had treated the fight as equal.
That had helped Victoria save her image to a huge extent, but now her opponent wasn’t Kael but a commoner.
If this fight resulted in an unfavourable outcome for Victoria, then... Ella didn’t want to imagine such a scenario.
But even if she wanted to delude herself into thinking that Victoria would win, as Noah wasn’t someone who could be compared to Kael... yet knowing that the commoner too had broken all past records in the academy entrance test, and was only ranked second because Kael had ranked first—
Ella’s worries were amplified by the thought, making her pray for Victoria’s—
"Why are you being so tense?"
"Huh?"
"Victoria isn’t the same as before. She had advanced, right?"
Fiul’s words made Ella widen her eyes in realization before giving a sigh of relief.
How could she have forgotten about it?
Victoria had already been at the peak of Gold 2 for quite some time, so it had been easy for her to advance to the third tier of the Gold rank, becoming a Gold 3 in the process.
"She will win for sure, and trust me, the first-year brat would have a good spanking waiting for him."
Fiul tried to lighten the mood, but even he was getting anxious from within.
The first years this time were all monsters in their own right, and knowing how Kael had been able to fight Victoria on equal grounds despite being a Silver 3, only went on to increase Fiul’s worries.
Noah... that guy was second only to Kael.
"Hope so."
Ella let out another sigh before taking out her device.
"Hm?"
Though Fiul was curious, he didn’t interrupt Ella, silently waiting at the side.
"I will have to inform the disciplinary committee, or else the instructors would blame us for trying to escalate the fight."

After jumping from the room, Noah landed on the ground below, observing Victoria, who stood a little distance away, dusting the dirt from her clothes.
Despite having the element of surprise on his side, Noah had failed to injure Victoria.
Not only was Victoria not hurt, but she appeared unusually calmer than what Noah had expected her to be.
That wasn’t because Victoria was some monster who couldn’t be hurt—
No.
The attack had enough intensity to damage Victoria, but she had been quick enough to create a barrier around her back while willing mana through her sword to nullify the power behind Noah’s attack.
Even now, Victoria couldn’t understand what type of spell Noah had used to detonate the mana at a particular point on his sword without hurting himself.
"That was a good spell."
Victoria commented as she got into her natural stance for combat.
Mana Blast.
Noah didn’t reply to Victoria, though he thought about the ability that he had just used.
It wasn’t a spell, but an ability that Noah had been able to derive using his original ability, Mana Sword.
The Mana Sword, even without being fully awakened, had given Noah fairly decent control of the mana within his body.
Mana Blast allowed him to detonate mana at any point on his sword without harming himself.
Noah had an instinctive feeling that he could do the same to his body too, but for that he would have to advance to higher ranks in order to be able to control his ability better.
"I hope you are ready to face the consequences for attacking a student, the vice president of the student council no less."
Victoria stood with her usual grace, with no hints of seriousness on her face... at least that was what the girl showed on the outside.
From within, Victoria was as surprised as any other student in her place would have been.
The blast had enough power to seriously injure her, and it was only due to her battle awareness that she was able to erect a barrier in time to save herself.
Still, now that Victoria was a Gold 3... the mana available at her disposal, as well as the quality of her mana, had improved by a great margin.
"Do you know what I am feeling at the moment?"
Noah asked the question through clenched teeth as he tried his best to control the emotions raging within his heart.
Victoria listened, though there was a light frown on her face, as she felt the guy before her was someone who was mentally ill.
Noah’s outward appearance had always given the impression that he was someone with a gentle heart.
But now that Victoria was beginning to see his real self, new doubts began to sprout in her mind.
Should she let Alicia be with such an unstable man?
"Since coming to this academy, I had felt suppressed for some reason, and I know what that reason is."
Noah was referring to Kael, but Victoria had no idea about it.
"I had tried to distract myself, thinking that it was just a natural reaction on my part after knowing that someone who could surpass me existed in the same year as me... was the same age as me."
