"Head to your assigned rooms for now, and be sure to be present for the banquet in time."

Zenur clapped his hands while relaying the instructions, and soon the students began to move towards the rooms assigned to them.

As the total number of students from the entire academy was huge, it was decided to teleport them in batches, and so we were the fourth batch of students so far, with more on their way.

"I think we would have to share the room."

Walking close to me, John commented while scrolling through his device.

The development was expected, as despite the duchy’s majesty, it was simply impossible to provide a separate room for each student, without having to compromise on the overall quality of the said room.

I, on my part, didn’t have much of a problem with sharing the room.

But that didn’t necessarily mean that I enjoyed the notion either.

We were currently in a luxurious and spacious mansion reserved for the residence of the students for their time in the Levaith Duchy.

The banquet that the bald instructor was talking about was meant for making formal introductions with the Duke and his family, which meant that I would soon be meeting Ashlyn’s—

"I think this is the one."

We were now before our assigned room, with the door having the same number as the one allocated to us.

Click.

Giving me a broad smile, John pushed open the door, as we entered the room.

I wouldn’t say that it was the best one out there, but the room could indeed be considered a decent one.

There were about four beds placed near to the respective walls of the room, with a decent amount of furniture present in it.

"I will take the window one."

Saying the words to John, who still appeared amazed by the room’s layout, I quickly moved towards the bed that was adjacent to the window.

A breath of cold, fresh air was always something to look upon.

"Huh? You guys are with us!"

Just as I was about to settle on the bed, John’s sudden exclamation made me turn around, only to find two familiar faces standing at the entrance of the room.

"Haha... yeah, looks like we were assigned the same—"

"Extro?"

"Huh?"

"..."

"..."

If I wasn’t wrong in my recognition, then the student before me, standing with an awkward expression, was indeed Extro... the same guy who had been in my team during our first live combat test.

Extro appeared to be surprised at his sudden nickname, though seeing the change in his expression, I could tell that he had remembered me once calling him by the name during the test.

"Uh... hello, sir."

Extending a polite smile, Extro scratched the back of his head, as he altered his gaze between me, John, and the fourth person in the room—

Hm?

The last of my supposed roommates felt familiar as well, though I couldn’t exactly remember where I had the chance to meet him.

With his fur-covered triangular ears, it was easy to identify him as a werewolf—

Ah!

It was him, I guess.

"M-morning, sir."

Feeling my gaze on him, the guy stuttered with his words, before quickly bowing his head to the maximum extent his body allowed while standing on his feet.

"Sebastian, was it?"

It was the same guy who had tried to confront me after my fight with Jacob, but ended up getting beaten at my hands.

Still, had it not been for him, I would have lost the delicacy of being able to defeat Victoria by cutting her arm in the most satisfying way.

"How have you been?"

Asking the question, I gave Sebastian a genuine smile while closing the distance with him.

With a bulky build, the guy stood at around 6’4"... his grey hair matching with those grey eyes, which now quivered slightly as I stood close to him.

Though it had been more than a second since I had asked the question, Sebastian gave no response, his head involuntarily bowing down once again, but—

Raising my hand, I placed it on the guy’s shoulder, before ’gently’ pressing it, in order to stop him from bowing again.

And—

My attempt seemed to have worked, as Sebastian looked at me with wide eyes, which had now become a little moist.

Maybe it was the quality of the air, resulting in the moisture.

"You know... I had missed you quite a bit. Let’s make sure that this visit of ours remains memorable for the both of us, shall we?"

My smile was as innocent as it could have ever been, and that made Sebastian give a smile of his in return... however awkwardly forced it might have been.

Sigh.

Forgiving peasants even after their transgression, was this what they call a good guy?

I—

Hm?

My core felt overloaded with mana all of a sudden, making me close my eyes to sense it on a deeper level.

And what I saw was something I should have already expected but forgot to address in time due to my... busy schedule.

"Do you guys have anything to do right now?"

"I have to—"

"Go to the market, and bring me something to eat as well."

I gave a non-negotiable smile to John, who looked confused, while the rest absent-mindedly nodded their heads.

It wasn’t like they had the guts to refuse me.

"You may leave."

Being the polite gentleman, I gently opened the door, while motioning the three to leave the room.

"A-Alright, but is there anything specific you want—"

"I am not a picky eater... bring whatever you like."

Lightly tapping John on his back, I pushed him out of the room, before doing the same thing with the other two.

Click.

And thus, the door was finally closed.

Absorbing the mana essence from the monsters that I had killed had become the usual way for me to increase my core’s rank, but that wasn’t the only way available at my disposal, was it?

Being in the academy without being able to kill the monsters or absorb their essence at will, I had to focus on the basic method of cultivation that the entire world mostly used, and that... had resulted in my core being ready to be upgraded to its third tier.

I should have evolved the tier in the academy’s training ground itself, but well... I wasn’t picky about the place of my cultivation either.
