I thought I was well prepared.

I approached her.

Ruby took a small step forward purely out of reflex.

She slowly turned her face.

Her green and red eyes stared at me.

Then she sighed.

No underground creature that tried to ambush us managed to escape her claws.

More than fifty underground creatures had been killed.

Their mouths were enormous.

And their long tongues were covered in a poisonous layer.

Thick saliva dripped from their teeth.

They looked like they were simply waiting for the right moment to devour us.

But, unlike the small creatures we had encountered earlier...

They didn’t immediately rush to attack us.

They waited.

They waited patiently.

Until we had completely entered their territory.

Then...

The eyes appeared.

Green eyes glowed in the darkness.

Ruby immediately assumed a combat stance.

Ruby leaped forward.

She moved forward.

She retreated and returned to my side.

Then her eyes turned toward the golem.

She began observing it carefully.

I noticed the change in her expression.

My gaze slowly traveled over the enormous figure of the Hunter Knight, who remained mounted on the gigantic Mud Shark King summoned by George.

The creature was grotesque and impressive at the same time, with that appearance that made anyone think twice before approaching it.

How did he manage to get something like this?

I tilted my head slightly, analyzing every detail.

Could it be one of his summoned creatures?

My gaze returned to the Mud Shark King.

Perhaps George had found something new.

Perhaps that core had been obtained after facing the Giant Shark in the Arcangrove Tower.

The more I thought about it, the more hypotheses came to mind.

Then, a small smile appeared at the corner of my lips.

It was almost amusing.

And apparently, I still underestimated him.
