The World Is Mine For The Taking

Chapter 1646 - 230 - Training the Heroes (1)

Sakai Ayaka's POV

"Is this really the place?" Morofuji asked as she tilted her head back and stared up at the enormous building standing directly in front of us.

"This is supposed to be the main headquarters of Leonamon, so I'm assuming we've come to the right place," I replied while looking up at the building myself.

"It's seriously this huge..." Kashiwagi-kun muttered, his eyes moving across the towering structure as though he was trying to figure out where the actual top of it was. "Even the biggest malls in our world aren't anywhere near this size."

"I've heard that Leon is supposed to be incredibly innovative," Morofuji said while continuing to stare at the headquarters with obvious curiosity.

"How could one person possibly create this many inventions and innovations?" I asked. "He created cars and all sorts of other things, and that's not even mentioning the fact that he somehow managed to make a functioning smartphone in this world."

The more I thought about it, the stranger the whole situation became.

I glanced toward Kaori, who had been unusually quiet since we'd arrived.

She looked like she had some kind of theory of her own, but she wasn't saying anything about it, and judging from the expression on her face, I had a pretty good idea why she was keeping it to herself.

I had a theory myself.

If Leon had managed to create so many inventions that were extremely similar to things we already had back on Earth, then there was a possibility that Leon wasn't originally from this world at all.

Maybe he had come from the same world as us.

Maybe, just like us, he had somehow been transported here.

The thought alone was enough to make me wonder whether there could be some connection between us that we hadn't discovered yet.

If reincarnation was actually possible, then there was also a chance that the person we were about to meet could have been someone we already knew from our previous life.

Someone like Tsubasa-kun.

However, Kaori probably wasn't saying anything because she didn't want to get her hopes up over something that had absolutely no proof behind it.

Tsubasa-kun had died.

We had his body buried before we were transported into this world, and considering how little time seemed to have passed between his death and our arrival here, it was reasonably impossible that something strange had happened.

Maybe he had been reincarnated somewhere. Maybe he had been transported here before the rest of us. Maybe Leon was actually Tsubasa-kun. The possibility existed, but that didn't mean it was true.

Kaori probably understood that better than anyone, which was why she was keeping her thoughts to herself instead of saying something that might give everyone false hope.

I let out a quiet sigh before looking toward the entrance again.

"Well, we're not going to figure anything out by standing here like a bunch of idiots," I told them while motioning toward the entrance. "Come on, let's actually go inside and see what we can find out."

We eventually followed my lead and made our way inside the enormous headquarters.

The moment we entered, a maid approached us and greeted us with a calm smile.

"Greetings," she said politely. "My name is Amon, and I have been instructed to assist you and lead you to where Master is currently waiting."

All four of us looked at one another for a moment.

We honestly hadn't expected someone to greet us almost immediately after entering the building, especially a maid who seemed to have been waiting specifically for our arrival.

For some reason, all of us felt slightly intimidated by her.

It wasn't simply because she carried herself with incredible grace and confidence.

There was something else about her presence that felt completely different from the maids we had encountered back at the castle.

Her aura was difficult to describe, but it gave me the strange impression that she was far more capable than her appearance suggested.

Her beauty was also almost ridiculous.

I didn't want to stare, but she was genuinely beautiful enough that avoiding the thought was practically impossible.

We followed Amon through the headquarters as she calmly guided us toward wherever Leon was waiting.

Along the way, we noticed countless people working throughout the building.

Some were carrying documents, others were discussing things together, and several people were working with equipment that I couldn't even begin to identify.

I had no idea what most of them were actually doing, but considering everything happening around us right now, I assumed that a large portion of their work was connected to the war that was about to begin.

The atmosphere inside the headquarters was completely different from what I had expected.

Instead of looking like some ordinary noble residence, the entire place felt like an enormous organization that was constantly moving.

"This place actually looks pretty cool," Morishita said while looking around with obvious interest.

It seemed like the headquarters had already managed to catch her attention.

Otherworld or not, apparently some things about Morishita hadn't changed at all.

She could still become interested in something simply because it looked cool.

"Fufufu, I'm glad you think so," Amon-san replied with a gentle smile. "Master has done a great deal to help this company develop. We have put considerable effort into our work over the years, and through those efforts, we have managed to expand the business to its current scale."

"I see..." I replied while looking around again.

The more I looked at the headquarters, the more unbelievable the whole thing became.

"By the way, Amon-san, how old are you?"

Amon looked toward me before answering my question without any hesitation.

"Master and I are the same age, so we are both twenty-one years old."

Twenty-one?

I almost stopped walking.

They had created something like this while they were still twenty-one?

I had already heard that Leonamon had been around for quite a while, which meant that they must have started the company incredibly young.

If my understanding was correct, they probably began building this whole thing when they were around eighteen.

That was honestly insane.

Most people around our age were still trying to figure out what they wanted to do with their lives, while these people had somehow managed to build an enormous company that had become influential enough to attract the attention of entire countries.
