The World Is Mine For The Taking

Chapter 1647 - 230 - Training the Heroes (2)

"Are you surprised?" Amon-san asked after noticing my expression. "Well, you don't have to be. Master is the one who made all of this possible, so I suppose it was only natural that we eventually managed to reach this point."

"It was only natural... huh?" I repeated while staring at her.

The way she said it made something that should have been completely ridiculous sound almost ordinary.

Still, after everything I'd already heard about Leon, perhaps I shouldn't have been surprised anymore.

"Well then, we've arrived," Amon-san said as she stopped in front of a large door. "Master is waiting inside."

She turned toward us and gave us a polite bow.

"If you would excuse me, I shall leave you here."

After saying that, Amon turned around and calmly walked away, leaving the five of us standing in front of the door.

We exchanged glances for a moment before looking back at the entrance.

I took a small breath and raised my hand before knocking against the door.

Once I knocked, we waited quietly for someone to answer from the other side.

A moment later, we heard movement coming from inside the room.

"Oh..."

The door opened, revealing a beautiful woman with long blonde hair standing on the other side.

She looked at us for a moment before giving us a polite and welcoming smile.

"Master, the heroes have arrived," she said. "Please, do come in."

The woman stepped aside and allowed us to enter, after which she quietly left the room without saying anything else.

The moment we stepped inside, however, something else immediately caught our attention.

A small child suddenly came running toward us before wrapping both arms around Kaori's knees.

"Hehehehe~!" the little girl giggled happily as she hugged Kaori.

Kaori looked down at her with a surprised expression, apparently caught completely off guard by the sudden affection.

The child had an incredibly cherubic face, and I wasn't exaggerating when I thought she looked almost like an angel.

She was so cute that even I found myself staring at her for a moment longer than I probably should have.

"Who is this little cutie~?" Morofuji asked with a bright smile as she crouched slightly and looked at the child.

The little girl didn't answer her question, instead continuing to cling happily to Kaori's legs.

Then another voice came from somewhere nearby.

"Kana."

Kaori's eyes immediately widened when she heard that name.

"Kana?"

The change in her expression was so obvious that I immediately looked toward the person who had spoken.

The rest of us followed her gaze as well.

A young man had just entered the room.

It was Leon.

He was holding a baby securely in one arm while looking toward us.

For a moment, nobody said anything.

I simply stared at him while trying to process the sight in front of me.

The child named Kana immediately went over to Leon after hearing him call out to her, moving toward him without any hesitation as though she had done it countless times before.

"Papa!"

She hurried over to him with a cheerful expression, looking completely comfortable around Leon despite all the other people standing nearby.

"Papa?" I asked, unable to hide the surprise that immediately appeared on my face when I heard her call him that.

"Well, yes," he replied casually, as though there were absolutely nothing unusual about the situation and I had simply asked him something incredibly obvious.

"I-I didn't expect you to already have a child," I admitted while looking between him and the baby on his arm. "I-Is that your child as well?"

"Yup," he answered without hesitation, sounding completely relaxed about the whole thing.

I-I guess it really was normal for people in this world to have multiple partners, but I still couldn't quite get used to the idea.

"Wait a moment," Leon said while looking toward us. "I'll give them back to their mothers so that we can get started with the training."

He then looked toward Kana before speaking to her in the same calm voice.

"Kana, let's go."

"'Kayyyy~" Kana answered cheerfully, apparently having no problem following him wherever he decided to go.

Leon left the room for a little while, with Kana following closely beside him as the two of them disappeared from our sight.

The rest of us simply waited for him to come back, since there wasn't really anything else we could do while he was away from the room.

"Are you okay, Kaori?"

Kaori seemed completely out of it for a moment, staring straight ahead as though something had suddenly clicked inside her head and she was still trying to understand what it meant.

"He said Kana..."

I could understand why she was so shocked by that particular name, especially considering what it meant to the two of us and the suspicions we had already been keeping to ourselves.

Kana was certainly a name that could exist in Japan, but it wasn't as though Japanese people were the only ones in our world who could possibly have that name. There were plenty of people from different countries who could also be named Kana, so we couldn't exactly assume something simply because we happened to hear that name.

However, Kana was also the name of Tsubasa-kun's late sister, and that particular detail made the situation considerably harder to ignore.

As I had mentioned before, Kaori and I had already developed some suspicions that Leon might somehow be connected to Tsubasa-kun. There were simply too many similarities between the two of them for us to completely ignore the possibility, although we had never found any concrete evidence that could actually prove that our suspicions were correct.

Because of that, we never really thought about it too deeply, since there was always a possibility that we were simply seeing connections that weren't actually there.

We could have been completely wrong about everything.

Still, now that Leon had casually mentioned that his daughter was named Kana, I couldn't help feeling that this was becoming much harder to dismiss as some random coincidence.

There were already enough similarities between him and Tsubasa, and adding the name Kana to that growing list made the whole situation feel even more suspicious than it had been before.

After waiting for a little while, Leon eventually returned to the room, looking just as calm and expressionless as he had been before leaving.

"Let's go."
