The World Is Mine For The Taking

Chapter 1654 - 230 - Training the Heroes (8)

Although all five of them managed to withstand the pressure without completely losing their composure, they could still feel how terrifying it was, and none of them could convince themselves that what they were experiencing was remotely ordinary.

The killing intent alone was enough to make their bodies feel heavy, while the sheer hostility behind it made concentrating on the battle increasingly difficult.

They understood that fighting Beelzebub individually would be nothing short of reckless, so all five of them immediately began working together instead.

If they coordinated their attacks and covered one another's weaknesses, then perhaps they actually had a chance of defeating Beelzebub.

At least, that was what they wanted to believe.

The real question was whether working together would actually be enough against someone like her.

Beelzebub suddenly dashed toward them again, and that same deranged expression remained plastered across her face as she charged forward without showing even the slightest hesitation.

Kashiwagi immediately moved toward the front of their formation, preparing himself to block Beelzebub before she could reach the others.

However, the moment Beelzebub approached him, she simply shifted her body to the side and slipped past his defense without wasting any movement.

Instead of continuing toward Kashiwagi, she immediately changed direction and went straight toward Morofuji, who was clearly the most vulnerable target among the five.

The moment Beelzebub's deranged smile turned toward her, Morofuji's legs began trembling again, and she suddenly found herself struggling to think clearly despite knowing that she needed to do something.

Being looked at by that expression alone was enough to make her body instinctively freeze, and for a brief moment, she had absolutely no idea how she was supposed to respond.

Before Beelzebub could reach her, however, Morishita quickly stepped forward and positioned herself between them, blocking the attack that had been intended for Morofuji.

Beelzebub's smile widened again, almost as though she had expected Morishita to do exactly that.

Using Morishita's blade as another platform, Beelzebub placed her foot against the weapon and pushed herself away, jumping backward with an almost playful movement before landing safely away from them.

Morofuji finally managed to snap herself out of her fear, realizing that she had another opportunity to attack while Beelzebub was still moving away.

She gathered a massive amount of mana into her arms, forcing the energy outward until an enormous sphere of fire began forming around her hand.

The fireball continued growing larger and brighter as more mana poured into it, until the heat coming from it became intense enough that the people nearby could feel it against their skin.

Morofuji then thrust her arm forward and launched the enormous fireball toward Beelzebub with everything she had.

Beelzebub immediately dashed forward instead of retreating, heading directly toward the enormous fireball without showing even the slightest concern about the attack coming straight toward her.

For a moment, it looked as though she had deliberately decided to charge directly into the flames, which was frankly insane even by the standards of what she had already been doing.

The fireball swallowed her entire body.

Yet somehow, Beelzebub simply emerged from the other side as though she had walked through nothing more dangerous than a cloud of smoke.

She didn't appear burned, slowed, or even particularly bothered by the attack, making it look as though Morofuji's enormous fireball had barely inconvenienced her.

Sakai and Kaori immediately moved to intercept her before she could continue forward, both of them realizing that they had very little time to react before Beelzebub reached another target.

Kaori reached out and grabbed Beelzebub with one hand, locking onto her arm before she could escape.

"Oh?"

Beelzebub raised an eyebrow, apparently surprised that Kaori had managed to catch her.

Kaori clearly had no intention of letting Beelzebub escape, and judging from the way she tightened her grip, she was making absolutely certain that the Sin couldn't move freely.

Sakai immediately joined her and grabbed Beelzebub from the other side, helping restrain her while preventing her from slipping away.

For the first time since the battle had begun, Beelzebub's movement was actually being restricted by the combined effort of the two heroes.

However, she still had one free hand.

Without hesitation, Beelzebub used that free hand to stab Kaori directly in the arm with her blade, forcing her to loosen her grip despite her determination to keep holding on.

"Urk...!"

Kaori gritted her teeth through the pain, but she refused to completely release Beelzebub, instead shouting toward Kashiwagi as loudly as she could.

"Kashiwagi-kun!"

Kashiwagi immediately understood what she meant.

He saw the opening that Kaori had created and took advantage of it without wasting another second.

He raised his sword and drove it toward Beelzebub with all the strength he could gather, putting his entire body behind the attack as he attempted to finish the fight with one decisive strike.

"RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHH!"

He shouted as he poured everything he had into the attack, driving the blade forward with enough force that it looked as though he intended to pierce straight through Beelzebub's entire body.

For a brief moment, Kashiwagi looked completely determined, and it seemed as though he had finally managed to overcome his previous hesitation.

Then Beelzebub looked directly at him.

"Don't hurt me~!"

Her voice suddenly became soft and almost pitiful, completely different from the terrifying expression she had been wearing only moments earlier.

The change was so sudden that Kashiwagi hesitated despite having already committed himself to the attack.

"Kuh..."

That brief hesitation was all Beelzebub needed.

Before he could recover or correct his mistake, Beelzebub kicked him directly in the solar plexus with enough force to send him stumbling backward.

However, this time, Kashiwagi wasn't the only one moving.

Someone else had already jumped into the air.

Morishita had taken advantage of the opening and was already charging toward Beelzebub, her sword held firmly in her hands as she prepared to follow through without giving the Sin another chance to escape.

Unlike Kashiwagi, who had hesitated the moment Beelzebub pretended to be frightened, Morishita didn't allow herself to be distracted by the act.

She followed through with her attack completely.

Morishita drove her sword straight into Beelzebub's back with all the strength she could muster, and the blade pierced through Beelzebub's body as the force of the attack carried it completely through her.
