Inside the Long Range.

There were still four hours until departure, but nearly all the crew members had already returned to their posts and were currently being briefed.

Little Drilling Wind looked helplessly at the three players, a headache already forming.

"Duan Someone, I’m very disappointed in you. I thought you were a decent person."

"When was I ever a decent person? How come I didn’t know?" Duan Fei asked in surprise.

"...Fine. With just one sentence, you’ve left me speechless. Uh, let me just confirm this... you said you were going to gather intel, but you ended up ’driving a big truck,’ right?"

"Actually, I went to increase my Ghost Resistance. See? I even got a new [Ghost Resistance] passive. It reduces some damage from ghosts, and if I’m lucky, I can even nullify it."

Little Drilling Wind narrowed her eyes at Duan Fei. She noticed that as he spoke, he was still firing a Laser Gun at her. She couldn’t tell if he was genuinely experimenting with something or just engaging in some kind of gameplay that defied human comprehension.

Sighing deeply, Little Drilling Wind turned to the second person, Shadow God.

As a player she had once been a fan of, Little Drilling Wind was a bit more tolerant toward Shadow God.

Putting on a gentle smile, Little Drilling Wind asked, "Shadow God, can you tell me what you were up to?"

"Upholding justice!"

"And then you ended up knocking out half the people in a tavern, right?"

"A hero acts, never questioning the consequences."

"It’s a miracle we don’t have a warrant out for our arrest. But even after all that, are we really okay?"

Little Fatty held up his phone and said casually, "It’s fine. The people here have been thoroughly domesticated by AI. According to my Reconnaissance, they each have a biological chip implanted in their cervical vertebrae. As long as the chip doesn’t sound an alarm, they won’t think anything is wrong. So, all I had to do was set each of our IDs to not trigger an alarm, and there’s no problem."

"Look at Little Fatty, and then look at yourselves. What a disgrace! Little Fatty has been working diligently for the past eight hours. Why don’t you try to learn from him?"

"You should take a look at his phone. I guarantee you’ll make a new discovery," Duan Fei said.

Little Fatty shuddered and immediately blurted out, "I was the one who killed them."

"I wasn’t asking for a confession!" Little Drilling Wind exclaimed in surprise. "Now I’m really curious about what’s on your phone."

"I really was the one who killed them!"

Duan Fei waved for Little Fatty to quiet down, then said, "You don’t even need to look. I bet it’s some kind of bizarre fetish fic, like one about swapping an original phone charging cable with an off-brand one, and then the original cable stops working. Or maybe some abstract work, like pouring Coca-Cola into a Pepsi bottle. A slightly more normal one would be some hardcore Megatron and Optimus Prime slash fic."

"I haven’t seen that last one!" Little Fatty exclaimed. "But if you have it, you can send it to me."

Little Drilling Wind sighed again, thinking that there were too many deviants on this team. They were so hard to manage.

She could also see that the other four players were all highly skilled in their own ways. In a scenario like this, which combined both technology and the supernatural, they could definitely shine.

Unfortunately, every single one of them had issues, which was exhausting for a normal person like her.

’I just want to be a reporter and expose the truth. Why did I have to end up with this bunch of deviants?’

Rubbing her temples, Little Drilling Wind asked, "By the way, where’s the Missionary of Love?"

Little Fatty checked his records, then said, "He should be fine. He was even joking with me, crying for help."

"That doesn’t sound like a joke!"

"He cried, ’Help me~.’"

"Sounds like he’s fine, then. What about Hancock?"

"Over there. He just had a lot to drink, and now he’s completely out of it."

Looking at Hancock giggling foolishly in the corner, Little Drilling Wind felt a little sympathetic.

He’d been tricked onto the ship, only to discover he was a disposable pawn. Whether he succeeded or not, it was a dead end for him either way.

Putting herself in his shoes, Little Drilling Wind felt he had every reason to drink himself into a stupor.

Without a Navigator, they couldn’t cross the Star Gate for the time being. They had no choice but to take out a deck of playing cards from the ship’s own supplies and start a game.

Meanwhile, the Missionary of Love had been waiting in an alley for a long time, but Little Fatty never showed up. He could only sigh with regret.

He wasn’t interested in Little Drilling Wind. Duan Fei and Shadow God had already rejected his preaching, so he wasn’t interested in them either.

The only one he was interested in was Little Fatty. He had planned to lure him over for a one-on-one "sermon," but unexpectedly, his target didn’t take the bait.

Shaking his head helplessly, he realized it was almost time. He needed to get back to the ship so they could depart for the next stop.

But just as he was about to head back, he saw a petite figure appear at the mouth of the alley.

She looked to be about six years old, with a backpack on her shoulders, and was dressed in a blue elementary school uniform. Her white, over-the-knee socks and black patent leather shoes made her look quite adorable.

However, her eyes were remarkably indifferent, betraying almost no emotion.

An empty alley, a little girl, no one else around...

The whole scene set off the Missionary of Love’s internal alarms, but he still asked with a sliver of hope, "You’re not here for me, are you?"

"That depends on your performance. Do you know this guy?"

Without using her wristband to project an image, the little girl took a piece of white paper from her schoolbag and showed the drawing on it to the Missionary of Love.

It was a pencil drawing of incredibly high precision. Using only a pencil, she had drawn a face that rivaled a high-definition photograph; even the pores on the skin were discernible.

As a result, the Missionary of Love recognized the person at a single glance.

His captain, Duan Someone.

Although he didn’t quite get along with Duan Fei, they were now shipmates, and the Missionary of Love knew what he had to do.

Shaking his head, he said, "Never seen him."

"Your pupils dilated. Your heartbeat remained normal, but it did quicken for an instant. Your breathing has become much more rapid, and you’ve suddenly made several small, fidgety movements. Therefore, you are lying."

"Sharp one, aren’t you? Are you really six years old? What’s your name?"

Taking her predecessor’s Laser Gun from her coat, the girl aimed the light weapon at the Missionary of Love. "Mhm. I am Sai Wen, Sikes’s successor. The 7th ranked detective. The first six are all dead. Now, if you would, please come with me."

The Missionary of Love suddenly exploded into action. Inner Strength coursed through his body, allowing him to unleash superhuman Power in an instant.

He, too, possessed a dual Profession. Before that live-streaming incident, his Profession had been Martial Monk.

A Profession that could wield Inner Strength.

Twenty years of Inner Strength wreathed his fist in a gale of force. The fist, as large as an alms bowl, shot toward the girl’s face. The Inner Strength it contained even began to burn, imbuing his attack with a supernatural quality.

The girl fired quickly, but the Missionary of Love had already predicted her move. He dodged with a minimal sidestep and lunged toward her.

But when he reached the girl, the Missionary of Love simply gave her a light flick on the forehead and confiscated her weapon.

Kneeling before her, the Missionary of Love patted her on the shoulder and began to weep uncontrollably. "A child so young, forced to work, even to kill! What a miserable world this is!"

"Um, I’m not a child. I’m a detective..."

"As far as I’m concerned, you’re just a child! Don’t you worry, Big Brother will protect you!"

"I don’t need a big brother..."

"Then you can call me Big Sis, too!"

"I don’t need a male big sis either..."

"Then you must need love and justice! Come, join us! I will slowly reform you!"

"...I feel like nothing I say is going to work. It’s rare to find someone as self-absorbed and unwilling to listen as you."

And just like that, Sai Wen was hoisted over the Missionary of Love’s shoulder and, at a brisk trot, kidnapped and brought aboard the ship.
