Duan Fei and his group traveled for two days on the final leg of their journey before finally leaving the Void and arriving at Azure Star.

The star here had already died, transforming into a red giant.

The Supreme Power Committee was the highest authority in the Alliance. It governed 4.2 million stars within a thousand-light-year radius and hundreds of trillions of residents. A single word from them could decide the fate of a hundred million people. To a small fry like him, they were like the stars in the sky—lofty and unreachable.

He timidly hid to the side, hoping she wouldn’t notice him, but she saw him anyway.

With a slow, elegant nod, the Chairwoman said, "Mr. Hancock, I remember you. We have made suitable arrangements for your wife and daughter. The most relaxing job, the best schools—we have prepared everything. This is not a threat or coercion, merely a small gesture of goodwill from the Supreme Power Committee."

"Then what do you want from us?" Duan Fei asked.

"Leave this place. Take the two Spirit Detectives and go back. I don’t know why you’re so insistent on coming here, but this is the domain of a Deity. The return of the Spirit Detectives could lead to an irreversible outcome, one that we cannot accept. If you agree, the Committee is willing to cede three hundred thousand star systems to you. Whatever you do within them, we will not interfere."

A prim smile on her face, the Chairwoman spoke in a tempting voice, "Imagine it: three hundred thousand stars, trillions of residents. The Alliance’s biotechnology can reshape them into any form you desire, and our powerful database can find that perfect ’someone’ for each of you. You’ll have endless wealth to squander, with no consequences to worry about. We have Superpower Users who are masters of brainwashing; these residents will become your most loyal followers. You can do anything you want to them."

"What’s more, you will be ageless and immortal. You won’t have to worry about a thing; you can just indulge in pleasure every day. We have a perfect bureaucratic system in place. You would only need to be gods among mortals, with all of the power and none of the responsibility."

The Chairwoman painted a magnificent picture, but Duan Fei and the others were completely unmoved.

’It felt like the server was about to shut down in a day, but the admin shows up and says, "Hey, want to keep spending money? I’ll give you a full set of invincible, cosmic-tier gear."’

Without a Void Point, the ship couldn’t leave. With the nearest star 1,200 light-years away, they were completely stranded on Azure Star.

Furthermore, without the local Void Point, the two Spirit Detectives couldn’t make contact with the Deity residing in this region of the Void. The end result was that they were completely sealed off.

"I like you very much as well, to have made it this far step by step. A pity you didn’t agree to my proposal." The Chairwoman smiled gently. "Alright. Now, how are you planning to torture me?"

"There’s no need for that. I came prepared. You should have gathered more intel."

Under the Chairwoman’s astonished gaze, Duan Fei ripped the bandage from his eyes, revealing his Eye of the Void.

As Duan Fei stared at her, the Chairwoman screamed shrilly, as if she were looking at the Void itself.

An oversight in her intelligence gathering meant she had no idea Duan Fei actually possessed the Eye of the Void; she had assumed his attire was merely an imitation of the Void Sect.

This intelligence failure turned the Chairwoman’s nearly perfect plan into a joke.

Her elegant expression crumbled. The malice emanating from the Void made the Chairwoman collapse to the ground, where she scrambled backward, screaming ceaselessly.

Then, something even stranger happened.

The local Void Point, which had been destroyed, began to reform. Some mysterious power, channeled through Duan Fei’s eyes, manipulated the surrounding fragments, reassembling the shattered Void Point into a pitch-black hole.

The hole grew larger and larger, until it enveloped all of Azure Star, pulling it into the bottomless Void.
