“Lord Cheion cares about her.”

“So?”

“I’m telling you not to do anything unnecessary.”

“I care about her quite a lot, too. She’s the master of the Tamer Relic, after all. Naturally, everyone should care about her.”

“......”

Watching the man smile, Luca shook his head. He could already tell Miss Ceres was going to have a hard time with him. Once Aseraian took an interest in someone, he had a way of wearing them down.

“I made sure to fulfill master’s request, too.”

“Master......”

...Please say ‘Master of the Tamer Relic.’ Don’t leave out the rest.

“She made a request?”

What could Miss Ceres have asked him for?

Thud.

Luca’s curiosity was answered when Crown Prince Aseraian took a document from his desk and dropped it in front of him.

“This is......?”

It was a report on an orphanage in the capital.

“The place that supplied children.”

“Ah......”

Luca immediately knew which place he meant. It was the orphanage that had been supplying children to the illegal auction house connected to Marquis Merial. The Crown Prince had personally raided the auction not long ago and dealt with it.

“She told me to leave the director alone for a while. Apparently, she has business with him.”

“The director?”

Why would Miss Ceres ask for that? Luca couldn’t make sense of it.

“I don’t know the details either. She asked me to leave him alone for now, so I did.”

Aseraian picked up the document again and chuckled.

“Aren’t you curious?”

“About what?”

“What interesting thing she’ll do next.”

“......”

His smile only grew wider. Luca couldn’t help looking exasperated again.

Miss Ceres... How did you end up attracting the attention of someone like him?

Luca shook his head while silently praying for Ceres’s well-being.

“Hmm.”

[Buu?]

[Pii?]

Sooty and Airien tilted their heads as they watched Ceres frown at the open subspace. Wasn’t the thing she was looking for in there?

“No, it is... I just don’t really want to take it out.”

It would be perfect for what she needed right now, but should she really take it out? She had a feeling she’d regret it.

However, if she wanted to make someone pay for what they’ve done, this was the best thing for the job.

It was already hard enough to deal with back then... I wonder what she’s like after 300 years.

Ceres rubbed her forehead, already feeling a headache coming on. Then again, you never know. Three hundred years was a long time. Maybe her personality had changed.

Whoosh!

Clinging to the faintest hope, Ceres reached into the subspace and pulled something out. It was a tiny fan, its vivid red color immediately caught the eye.

Hummm...

“.....”

A faint vibration emanated from the fan, almost as if it were greeting her. Ceres sighed softly and opened it.

Fwoosh!

A brilliant light burst forth.

[Whoa, damn! How long has it been? You really are too much, you know. Not calling me for over 300 years is just—huh?]

When the light faded, a woman appeared. She looked to be in her early twenties and had an extraordinarily striking appearance. Her curly, multicolored hair was tied high in a single ponytail, with dark sunglasses covering her eyes.

She wore a black leather top, a tiny skirt that left her thighs bare, and bizarre knee-high leather boots.

“...What’s with that look?”

[...Who are you?]

The woman lowered her sunglasses slightly and narrowed her eyes.

[That attitude is definitely Grace’s. But why do you look so young? What happened to you? Did you get plastic surgery or something? Has that technology finally reached this world?]

The woman kept tilting her head as she examined Ceres’s face.

“Stop touching my face.”

[See? That rude way of talking must be Grace. But what happened? After 300 years, you should’ve gotten old, so how did you end up looking even younger?]

“If 300 years have passed, shouldn’t I be dead rather than old?”

[I always figured someone as tough as you would never die. Still, I didn’t expect you to look this different. What happened? Did you take over someone else’s body?]

The woman grinned and stepped back, taking another careful look at Ceres.

Why were they all like this...?

Jubelios said almost the exact same thing. How did they even see me in my previous life?

“You’re one to talk. What’s with that outfit?”

She had always worn strange clothes and carried around strange things, but this was easily the strangest she’d ever seen her look.

[This? It’s the fashion in the world I’ve been hanging around in lately. It’s the badass older-sister look.]

“Fash... what?”

...Here we go again. She always gives me a headache with the strange things she says. Somehow, she hasn’t changed at all in 300 years.

[So, what brings my little sister to see me after all this time?]

The woman bent down to meet Ceres’s eyes, pinched her cheek, and smiled slyly. Ceres brushed her hand away and pressed a finger against her forehead, pushing her back.

Back off. I told you not to get so close.

“There’s someone I want you to deal with.”

[Oh my.]

The woman feigned surprise and moved even closer to Ceres.

Did I hear that right?

[Well, well. Who was it that tossed me into a pocket dimension for 300 years because my power was bad luck? And now you need my help?]

“Then go back in.”

Ceres immediately opened the subspace and moved to put the fan back inside.

[No, no! Nooooo! Hear me out! I’ll do it, I’ll do it! I don’t even know what it is yet, but please let me do it, okay? Please!]

The woman, who had been so haughty just moments ago, suddenly burst into tears and clung to Ceres.

[I hate the pocket dimension! It’s so boring in there!]

“Why? You said you could’ve fun in other worlds even without me calling you.”

[I told you, I can’t use my powers properly there because I don’t have anyone I’ve officially contracted with!]

“Alright, I get it. Now let go.”

She seemed even more clingy than before. Ceres pulled the woman off her arm and pushed her a good distance away.

[So, who’s the one I need to deal with? I’ll take care of them perfectly. Who is it? Come on, tell me~ Don’t worry.]

As if she’d never been crying, the woman grinned and immediately latched onto Ceres again, acting all sweet.

“I said let go.”

Ceres sighed deeply as she looked at the woman hanging onto her arm. Just like a cat, she only acted this way when she wanted something.

Maybe I shouldn’t have called her out.

Already feeling exhausted, Ceres shook her head. Once this was over, she’d have to put her back in the subspace.

“Damn it!”

Jerry Orphanage stood at the edge of the capital. Inside, its director Jerry was cursing furiously, barely able to contain his anger.

“F*ck! Am I going to get arrested too?”

The illegal auction house had recently been exposed. Jerry, who had been supplying children to it, was now under investigation. When soldiers came to the orphanage not long ago, he felt terrified they would take him away.

Luckily, they hadn’t arrested him yet. But they had seized every document in the orphanage and even taken all the children away for what they called temporary protection.

Most of the staff already fled, leaving only a few behind. They were afraid the trouble would spread to them, too.

“I need to sell the building and the lands before I can run.”

He wanted to flee just as badly, but he couldn’t leave empty-handed. As soon as he learned the auction house had been exposed, he put the building and all his land up for sale. So far, though, no one had bought them.

Once they sold, he planned to disappear. He just hoped his crimes wouldn’t be uncovered before then. He never left any evidence behind...

“Just my [N O V E L I G H T] damn luck!”

This was all because of that brat!

“Zien, that rascal!”

Nothing had happened all this time. So why did everything go wrong the moment that child was dragged off to the auction house?
