Chapter Two Hundred and Thirty
The room remained silent.
Asli hadn’t moved from the floor. She sat with her back against the bed, one hand still resting over her stomach.
This time around, not protectively anymore.
Just...
There.
As if she no longer knew what to do with it. Her eyes stared ahead without seeing anything. The tears had stopped. Perhaps she’d run out. Or perhaps the pain had become too heavy even for tears. She was grateful Cole didn’t comfort her or speak. She needed to grieve this once.
Minutes passed before she finally spoke.
"Cole." Her voice was hoarse.
He looked at her immediately.
"Prepare the car."
His brows drew together.
She slowly pushed herself to her feet. The movement was clumsy. Her legs threatened to give way again, but she caught herself against the edge of the bed.
She knew she couldn’t drive. Not like this. Not when her hands were still shaking. Not when every time she blinked she saw Ahmet’s face and the abomination they’d done.
"Where are we going?" Cole asked quietly.
Asli lowered her head. One trembling hand drifted back to her stomach. Her fingers curled into the fabric of her shirt.
"I..." The word caught in her throat. She swallowed hard. "I need to take it out." The whisper was so broken it barely sounded like her own voice.
Across the room, Cole flinched. His eyes dropped instinctively to her stomach. Then back to her face. His expression hardened. "...Without the father’s concern?"
The question hung between them. Asli laughed. It was a terrible sound.
"The father..." She repeated the words as though tasting poison. Then she looked up at him. Her eyes were red. Swollen.
Lost.
"The father is my brother." Her voice rose with every word until it finally broke. "My fcking brother!"
She struck her own chest with the heel of her hand.
"How..."
Another hit.
"...how do you expect me to keep it?"
Her breathing became ragged.
She doubled over, clutching her stomach with both hands now.
"I fought to keep this child alive once."
A sob escaped.
"I should’ve lost it..."
She squeezed her eyes shut.
"And now you’re asking me to think about the father?"
She shook her head violently. The words left her lips before she could stop them. "This shouldn’t have happened between us."
Her shoulders trembled.
"I can’t... I can’t give birth to my brother’s child."
Cole didn’t move.
He watched her walk toward the door, every instinct inside him pulling in opposite directions.
Stop her.
Or let her go.
They were monsters but not this kind of monster. No one in history had become the woman who carried her own brother’s child. Asli wasn’t going to be the first to break that record. And he understood why Asli looked as though something inside her had died.
He fell into step behind her without a word. By the time they reached the hall, the doctor was still there. She sat rigidly on the edge of the sofa, both hands clasped together so tightly her knuckles had turned white.
The moment she saw Asli, she stood. Asli walked straight past her. She didn’t even pass her a glance. Nor say a word to her.
Asli had almost reached the door when she stopped so abruptly.
Slowly, she turned.
The doctor’s heartbeat seemed to stop.
"Where is your hospital?"
The question caught the woman completely off guard.
"I..."
She blinked several times before finding her voice.
"I practice... in our Villa." The answer came through a noticeable stammer.
Asli held her gaze for another second.
"Get out."
The doctor didn’t hesitate.
She hurried after Asli immediately, nearly tripping over her own feet in her haste.
Philip straightened the moment the doors opened.
His eyes moved from Asli to Cole, then finally to the doctor.
The silence between them told him enough. Something terrible had happened. He didn’t need to ask.
He simply stepped forward.
Asli looked at him.
"Take her back."
Philip nodded at once. "Yes, boss."
The doctor had barely taken a step toward him when Asli spoke again. "If one word of this leaves your mouth..."
The doctor froze.
Asli slowly turned her head. Her eyes were empty. "I’ll find you. And I’ll make sure your death becomes the most painful thing you’ve ever experienced."
The doctor’s face drained of what little color remained.
"I... I understand boss."
Asli didn’t wait for another word. She turned and continued walking. Cole followed without speaking.
Behind them, Philip quietly led the trembling doctor away.

Philip’s POV
The drive back was unusually quiet. Philip glanced at the woman beside him for what had to be the fifth time. She hadn’t moved since getting into the car.
Her hands rested limply in her lap. Her face was pale. Whatever confidence she had always carried seemed to have vanished somewhere inside that house.
It didn’t fit her. She wasn’t easily frightened. In fact, he’d warned her before she went to see Asli. "Be careful around her."
She had laughed. "I’m as powerful as she is," she’d said with unmistakable pride. "My father made sure of that."
She’d acted as though Asli’s reputation meant nothing. Though he knew she wouldn’t think that for long.
And he was right, because now she looked like someone who had seen death itself.
Philip tightened his grip on the steering wheel.
"Did Boss find her biological parents?"
She didn’t answer.
He looked at her again. She was staring through the windshield, but her eyes weren’t focused on the road.
They were somewhere else entirely.
"Alice?"
Still nothing.
Her lips parted slightly. Then closed again. She swallowed. Hard.
He had never seen her like this. Whatever had happened in that room had terrified her enough to strip away every ounce of the pride she’d worn only hours ago.
"You know I’m not telling anyone." He softened his voice. "I heard the threat, but it’s me. Come on... tell me."
Alice slowly shook her head. "I think..." Her lips barely moved. "...I think she’s on her way to abort the child."
Philip’s foot slammed onto the brake. The tires screeched against the road as the car lurched to an abrupt stop.
"What?"
Alice blinked, finally pulled back to the present. She looked at Philip, but there was no panic on her face at revealing the truth. Somehow, telling him didn’t feel as dangerous. It was Philip after all.
"We need to tell Boss." Philip was already reaching for his phone. "If anything happens to that child, my head will be on the line."
"They’re siblings," Alice whispered again.
Philip frowned. "What?"
"Boss Asli and Ahmet." She responded.
A short laugh escaped him. He reached over and smacked her lightly on the arm. "Don’t play with me."
Alice didn’t even react. Instead, she buried her face in both hands.
"I have to call Big Boss." Her breathing became uneven. "Oh God... he’s going to cut off my head."
Philip’s smile faded.
"I never... never imagined it would come back positive." Her voice cracked. "The laboratory took longer than expected, so I told him it was negative while we waited."
Philip stared at her.
Then the meaning of her words crashed into him. His phone slipped slightly in his grasp.
"...Fck. Look, boss Ahmet is calling." Philip whispered as his phone rang.
